本发明涉及成像材料。本发明特别涉及在相纸背面提供有标记的相纸。
已知在彩色相纸形成中,在片基纸上有一层聚合物层,通常为聚乙烯。这一层用来为相纸提供防水作用,并提供一个光滑表面,感光层在该表面上形成。适度光滑表面的形成是困难的,要求非常细心且费用昂贵以确保聚乙烯层的适当沉积和冷却。在现有技术中,当在成形辊和将形成用于感光材料涂布的表面的聚乙烯之间夹有气泡时会形成一个瑕疵。此气泡会形成一个凹坑,它会在聚乙烯上形成的照相材料的相片特性中造成瑕疵。若能以较小成本形成更为可靠和改善的表面是所希望的。
在彩色相纸中需要为彩色相纸提供改善的抗卷曲性。目前彩色相纸在显影和保存过程中会卷曲。这种卷曲被认为是由于进行显影和干燥时彩色相纸各层的不同性质造成的。彩色照片在保存过程中湿度的改变会导致卷曲。当彩色相纸在很高湿度如相对湿度高于50%保存时,彩色相纸会有一些特殊问题。相对湿度低于20%的极低湿度也会引起相纸卷曲。
相纸中聚乙烯层也用作二氧化钛和其它增白剂材料及着色材料的载体层。如果着色材料不是分散于整个聚乙烯层而是能集中于它们能更有效成像的层表面附近,这是所希望的。
U.S.5244861中已提出在接受片中使用双轴定向聚丙烯用于热染料转印。
购得的相纸具有单一色彩印制的边印或印刷在形成照相材料的片基纸背面上的其它品牌信息。该边印覆盖有一层聚乙烯。现在的产品实际局限于单一色彩,因为费用和空间限制限制了现在的生产机器只能用单一色彩印刷将标记印刷到片基纸的背面。
其它成像材料也具有基底物质,不容易在该基底的背面提供多彩印刷。这样的材料包括如热染料转印材料,电子照相材料,和喷墨基底材料。
需要一种可靠的、低费用和高质量的在成像材料特别是彩色相纸背面印刷多色彩信息和说明的方法。
本发明一个目的是提供一种照相材料,此照相材料包含纸片基、至少一层感光的卤化银层、双轴定向的聚合物片层,该片层与所述纸片基的背面粘附,背对着涂覆至少一层所述感光卤化银层的面,其中在所述片基纸和所述聚合物片层之间的所述聚合物层表面提供有标记。
本发明提供一种相纸,其背面可以有多色彩高质量标记。该标记印制费用低,而且可以以高速度印制。
本发明提供了优于本领域现有技术的多种优点。在相纸背面提供多色彩高质量影像使相纸表明其品牌信息。背面可以用一定的材料装饰,该材料可以鉴定该相纸具有特定意义,例如奥林匹克或运动比赛。相纸背面也可以用作广告媒介或用于标记具体的摄影者或冲洗室。相片背面可以进一步提供有版权信息,告诉消费者他们享有版权法的保护。本发明也不需要干燥片基纸上的印制物,因为标记印在附加层上,因此在形成感光层期间不需要干燥。
在片基纸背面印有标记的彩色相纸的生产中,在印刷过程中随着纤维的膨胀,保持印刷面纸的厚度始终如一是一个难题。使用带有标记的附加的双轴定向片层消除了印刷过程膨胀引起的片基纸不能保持始终如一的问题。
在本发明中使用的双轴定向片层一般印刷在与片基纸接触的一面。印刷一般通过苯胺印刷、轮转凹版印刷或数字印刷进行。苯胺印刷是一种胶版印凸版技术,其中印刷板由橡胶或光聚物制备。通过将油墨从印刷板凸起的表面转印到要印刷的材料上完成印刷。轮转凹版印刷法使用带有成千上万个小槽的印刷柱,小槽位于印刷柱的下面。当印刷柱与印刷辊上的卷筒纸接触时,油墨从小槽中转印出。数字印刷方法使用要印制的标记的数字计算机软件。数字印刷方法将油墨从离散信源转印到被印制的材料。例子包括喷墨印刷和热染料转印。
用于本发明的合适的印刷油墨包括溶剂基油墨,水基油墨和辐射硬化油墨。溶剂基油墨的例子包括硝化纤维素马来酸,硝化纤维素聚酰胺,硝化纤维素丙烯酸,硝化纤维素尿烷,氯化橡胶,乙烯基,丙烯酸,醇溶丙烯酸,纤维素乙酸酯丙烯酸苯乙烯及其它合成的聚合物。水基油墨的例子包括丙烯酸乳剂,马来树脂分散液苯乙烯—马来酐树脂和其它合成的聚合物。辐射硬化油墨的例子包括紫外和电子束油墨。印刷标记的优选的油墨系统是水基油墨和辐射硬化油墨,因为需要减少与溶剂基油墨系统相关的挥发性有机化合物。
也可以通过压花使双轴定向片层表面具有标记。而且,压花与印刷一起使用产生独特的效果。而且,压花会产生相纸背面截然不同的触觉。一般可以将卷筒纸基底通过压辊辊隙运动的技术进行,其中的一个辊刻有所需的特征图案或独特的效果。
双轴定向片层可以通过使用一种粘合剂加到片基纸上。粘合剂可以是在冲洗加工条件下和照片使用条件下在片基纸和双轴定向片层之间保持完整的任何合适的材料。典型的叠层粘合剂是溶剂基粘合剂,例如尿烷类,水基粘合剂,例如丙烯酸和胶乳,和100%固体粘合剂,例如尿烷类。被挤压的聚烯烃也可以用来粘合双轴定向片层和片基纸。使用挤压机来熔融并连续地将一层熔融的聚烯烃均匀层直接加到双轴定向片层和片基纸之间。当熔融树脂在冷硬轧辊上的位置再固化时便实现了粘合。用于挤压叠层合适的聚烯烃包括聚丙烯、聚乙烯、聚甲基戊烯、聚苯乙烯、聚丁烯及其混合物。烯烃共聚物,包括丙烯和乙烯例如己烯,丁烯和辛烯的共聚物也是有用的。
优选的粘合剂是低密度或中等密度的聚乙烯。粘合剂涂层通过挤压熔融涂层来进行。
带有标记的双轴定向片层一般是透明或半透明的,这样可以从背面看到,但是不易磨损,并且在用于照相时会受到一定的保护而不消失。或者,双轴定向片层可以是彩色聚合物。可以在粘合至照相材料之前或之后将着色聚合物印刷到外表层上。外层上的标记允许形成数量少得多标记有人名的照相片基,因为标记可以在生产相纸之后加上,甚至可以在显影之后加上。形成相纸背面的片层也可以全息成像。全息成像对于在保密材料中使用的相纸是有用的。
任何适宜的双轴定向聚烯烃层可用于本发明分层片基的上面。微孔化的组合双轴定向片层是优选的,通过常规的复合挤压核心和表面层、随后双轴定向来制备,这样,在核心层中包含的孔起始物质周围形成了孔。例如这种复合片层公开于U.S专利4377616、4758462和4632869中,其公开内容在此引入作为参考。
优选的复合片层的核心应为该层总厚度的15至95%,最好为总厚度的30至85%。这样非孔化表层应为该层厚度的5至85%,优选15至70%。
用术语“固体百分密度”表示的复合片层密度(比重)由下式计算:

聚合物密度
固体百分密度应在45%和100%之间,优选67%和100%之间。当固体百分密度低于67%时,复合片层较难制备,这是由于抗拉强度下降且其更易受物理损伤。
复合片层总厚度可为12至100微米,优选20至70微米。低于20微米时,微孔化层可能不够厚,不足以在支持体内使任何固有的非平面最小化,且微孔化层更难于制备。厚度大于70微米时,可看出表面光滑性和机械性质均没有什么改善,因此使用额外材料进一步增加成本没有什么理由。
优选本发明双轴定向片层的水蒸气渗透率小于1.55×10-4g/mm2/天/大气压。因为本发明分层支持体在乳剂涂覆于支持体过程中不从乳化层传递水蒸气,这样允许在形成过程中乳剂较快硬化。用ASTM F1249测定传递速率。
尽管看起来“孔”含气体,但这里使用的“孔”指不含有加入的固体和液体物质。存在于完成复合的片层核心的孔起始颗粒直径应为0.1至10微米,优选外形是圆的,以产生所需的形状和大小的孔。孔的大小还依赖于机器和横向的取向度。从理想角度而言,孔假定为一个由两个相对且边缘相接的凹面圆盘来限定的形状。换句话说,孔趋于具有透镜式的或双凸形状。孔被定向,这样两个主要方向与片层的机器和横向方向一致。Z向轴方向尺寸小,且大小约为成孔颗粒的切面直径。通常这些孔趋于形成封闭的单元,因此,实际上微孔化核心一面至另一面没有气体或液体能穿过的开放路径。
可从各种材料中选择孔起始材料,且量应为核心基质聚合物重量的约5-50%。优选孔起始材料包括聚合物材料。当使用聚合物材料时,它可以是能与制备核心基质的聚合物融混的并能在悬浮液冷却时形成分散的球形颗粒的聚合物。这种例子包括分散于聚丙烯中的尼龙、聚丙烯中的对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯或分散于聚对苯二酸乙二醇酯中的聚丙烯。如果聚合物预先成形并与基质聚合物混合,则重要特征是颗粒的大小和形状。优选球形,它们可以是空心或实体。这些球体可由交联聚合物制备,其中聚合物选自:通式为Ar-C(R)=CH2的链烯基芳香族化合物,Ar表示苯系芳烃基或芳卤代烃基,R为氢或甲基;丙烯酸酯型单体包括式为CH2=C(R’)-C(O)(OR),其中R选自氢和约1-12个碳原子的烷基,R’选自氢和甲基;下列物质的共聚物:氯乙烯和1,1-二氯乙烯,丙烯腈和氯乙烯,溴乙烯,具有式CH2=CH(O)COR的乙烯酯,其中R为含2-18个碳原子的烷基;丙烯酸,甲基丙烯酸,衣康酸,柠康酸,马来酸,富马酸,油酸,乙烯基苯甲酸;合成聚酯树脂,其由对苯二甲酸和二烷基对苯二甲酸或其成酯衍生物与HO(CH2)nOH系列二醇反应来制备,其中n为2-10的整数并在此聚合物分子中具有活性烯键,上述聚酯包括其中共聚的重量比达20%的第二种酸或它的具有活性烯不饱和键的酯及其混合物,以及选自二乙烯苯、二甲基丙烯酸二乙二醇酯、富马酸二烯丙酯、邻苯二甲酸二烯丙酯及其混合物的交联剂。
制备交联聚合物的典型单体的例子包括苯乙烯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酰胺、丙烯腈、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、二甲基丙烯酸乙二醇酯、乙烯吡啶、乙酸乙烯酯、丙烯酸甲酯、乙烯基苄基氯、1,1-二氯乙烯、丙烯酸、二乙烯基苯、丙烯酰胺基甲基丙烷磺酸、乙烯基甲苯等等。优选交联聚合物为聚苯乙烯或聚(甲基丙烯酸甲酯)。最为优选的是聚苯乙烯,交联剂为二乙烯基苯。
本领域熟知方法产生非均匀大小的颗粒,其特征是宽范围的颗粒大小分布。通过在跨越起始大小分布范围内筛选颗粒,可将所得颗粒进行分类。其它方法如悬浮聚合、有限聚结直接产生大小非常均匀的颗粒。
可用试剂涂覆孔起始材料以便于成孔。合适的试剂或润滑剂包括胶体二氧化硅、胶体氧化铝和金属氧化物如氧化锡和氧化铝。优选试剂为胶体二氧化硅和氧化铝,最优选二氧化硅。通过本领域熟知方法可制备具有试剂涂层的交联聚合物。例如,优选常规的悬浮聚合法,其中在悬浮液中加入这种试剂。胶体二氧化硅为优选试剂。
孔起始颗粒也可以是包括实心或空心玻璃球的无机球体、金属或陶瓷珠或无机物颗粒如粘土、滑石、硫酸钡、碳酸钙。重要的是这种材料不与核心基质聚合物起化学反应,不会产生一种或多种如下问题:(a)改变基质聚合物的结晶动力学,使得难于定向,(b)破坏核心基质聚合物,(c)破坏孔起始颗粒,(d)孔起始颗粒粘附于基质聚合物,或(e)产生不需要的反应产物,如有毒或高色基团。该孔起始材料不应具有照相活性或降解使用双轴定向聚烯烃片层的照相材料的特性。
对于优选的乳剂上层的双轴定向片层,用于双轴定向片层的合适种类的热塑性聚合物和优选的复合片层的核心基质聚合物包含聚烯烃。
合适的聚烯烃包括聚丙烯、聚乙烯、聚甲基戊烯、聚苯乙烯、聚丁烯及其混合物。也可使用聚烯烃共聚物,包括丙烯和乙烯、己烯、丁烯和辛烯共聚物。优选聚丙烯,因为其成本低且具有所需的强度。
可使用上述用于核心基质的相同聚合物材料制备该复合片层的无孔化表层。由与核心基质相同的聚合材料表层可制备复合片层,或由与核心基质不同的聚合材料表层可制备复合片层。为达到相容性,可使用辅助层促进表层与核心的粘合。
可在核心基质和/或表层中加入添加剂,使这些片层增白。它包括任意一种本领域已知方法,包括加入白色颜料,如二氧化钛、硫酸钡、粘土或碳酸钙。还包括加入在UV区吸收能量并在蓝光区大量发光的荧光剂,或其它能改善片层物理性质或片层可生产性的添加剂。用于照片时,带有一点淡蓝色的白色片基是优选的。
可使用本领域制备定向片层的任何已知方法来完成这些复合片层的复合挤压、淬火、定向和热固化,如通过平片法或气泡法或管式法。平片法包括将混合物通过一个缝模挤压,并在一个冷铸模鼓上快速将挤压片淬火,由此,片层的核心基质聚合物成分和表层成分在低于其玻璃固化温度时淬火。然后,在基质聚合物玻璃化转变温度以上、熔融温度以下通过在相互垂直方向上拉伸使已淬火片层以双轴定向。该片层可以在一个方向拉伸然后在第二个方向拉伸,或可以同时在两个方向上拉伸。在将片层拉伸之后,通过加热至足以使聚合物结晶或退火的温度,进行热固化,同时从某种程度上限制片层在两个拉伸方向上收缩。
复合片层,当被描述为每一面优选至少含有三层微孔化核心和表层时,还可以被提供用来改变双轴定向片层性质的附加层。通过该附加层可达到不同的效果。这类层可包含着色剂、抗静电材料或不同的孔起始物质,以生产出特定性质的片层。双轴定向片层可以与提供改善的粘合性的表层或面向支持材料和照相材料的表层一起形成。如果要获得一些特殊的所需性质,可以用多达10层材料来完成双轴定向挤压。
在复合挤压和定向过程之后或在铸模和完全定向之间,可以用可改善片层性质包括可印性的任意数量的涂层涂覆或处理这些复合片层,以提供蒸汽防护栅、使得它们可热封或改善与支持体或照片感光层的粘合性。这类例子为用于可印性的丙烯酸涂层、用于热封的涂层聚偏二氯乙烯。其它例子包括火焰、等离子体、电晕放电处理,以改善可印性或粘合性。
由于在微孔化核心上至少有一层无孔化表层,该片层的抗拉强度增强,使其更容易生产。与所有层均被孔化制备的片层相比,其允许制备的片层有更宽更高的图画比例。层的复合挤压也简化了制备方法。

在片基纸背对成像侧一面的片层可以是任意合适的片层。该片层可被或不被微孔化。它可以与纸基材料正面上的片层组成相同。通过复合挤压可包含几层的片层、随后双轴定向来常规制备双轴定向片层。例如这种双轴定向片层公开于US专利4764425中,该文公开内容在此引为参考。
优选双轴定向片层为双轴定向聚烯烃片层,最优选聚乙烯或聚丙烯片层。双轴定向片层的厚度应为10至150微米。低于15微米时,微孔化层可能不够厚,不足以在支持体内使任何固有的非平面最小化,且微孔化层更难于制备。厚度高于70微米时,可看出表面光滑性和机械性质均没有什么改善,因此使用额外材料进一步增加成本几乎是没有理由的。
用于双轴定向片层的合适的热塑性聚合物种类包括聚烯烃、聚酯、聚酰胺、聚碳酸酯、纤维素酯、聚苯乙烯、聚乙烯树脂、聚磺酰胺、聚醚、聚酰亚胺、聚偏氟乙烯、聚氨基甲酸酯、聚苯硫、聚四氟乙烯、聚缩醛、聚磺酸酯、离子交联聚酯和离子交联聚烯烃。可使用共聚物和/或这些聚合物的混合物。
合适的聚烯烃包括聚丙烯、聚乙烯、聚甲基戊烯及其混合物。也可使用聚烯烃共聚物,包括丙烯和乙烯、己烯、丁烯和辛烯共聚物。优选聚丙烯,因为其成本低且具有良好的强度和表面性质。
合适的聚酯包括那些由4-20个碳原子的芳族、脂族或脂环族二羧酸和2-24个碳原子的脂肪醇或脂环二醇制备的聚酯。合适的二羧酸的例子包括对苯二甲酸、间苯二甲酸、邻苯二甲酸、萘二甲酸、琥珀酸、戊二酸、己二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸、富马酸、马来酸、衣康酸、1,4-环己烷二羧酸、钠代磺基间苯二甲酸及其混合物。合适的二醇的例子包括乙二醇、丙二醇、丁二醇、戊二醇、己二醇、1,4-环己烷二甲醇、二甘醇、其它聚乙二醇及其混合物。这类聚酯的例子为本领域熟知,并且可由本领域熟知方法制备,如US2465319和US2901466中所述。优选的连续基底聚酯具有由来自苯二甲酸或萘二甲酸和至少一种选自乙二醇、1,4-丁二醇和1,4-环己烷二甲醇的二醇的重复单元。可被少量其它单体改性的聚(对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯)是特别优选的。其它合适的聚酯包括由适量二酸成分如芪二羧酸的包合物形成的液晶共聚酯。这种液晶共聚多酯的例子公开于US4420607、4459402和4468510。
有用的聚酰胺包括尼龙6、尼龙66及其混合物。聚酰胺的共聚物也是合适的连续相聚合物。一个有用的聚碳酸酯的例子是双酚A聚碳酸酯。适合用作复合片层连续相聚合物的纤维素酯包括硝酸纤维素、三乙酸纤维素、二乙酸纤维素、乙酸丙酸纤维素、乙酸丁酸纤维素及其混合物或共聚物。有用的聚乙烯树脂包括聚氯乙烯、聚乙烯醇缩乙醛及其混合物。也可使用乙烯共聚物树脂。
可使用同样的聚合物材料层制备位于层合片基(Laminated base)背面的双轴定向片层,或可用不同的聚合物材料层制备。为达到相容性,可使用辅助层促进多层的粘合。
尽管优选背面透明,可通过背面见到印制的标记,但是可向该双轴定向片层中加入附加物,使这些片层增白。它包括任意一种本领域已知方法,包括加入白色颜料,如二氧化钛、硫酸钡、粘土或碳酸钙。还包括加入在UV区吸收能量并在蓝光区大量发光的荧光剂,或其它能改善片层物理性质或片层可生产性的添加剂。也可以向背层中加入着色剂。

层合片基背面的双轴定向片层,当被描述为优选至少含有一层材料时,还可以在其上提供用来改变双轴定向片层性质的附加层。通过附加层可达到不同的效果。这类层可包含着色剂、抗静电材料或滑动剂以生产出特定性质的片层。双轴定向片层可以与提供改善粘合性的表层或面向支持材料和照相材料的表层一起形成。如果要获得一些特殊的所需性质,可以用多达10层材料来完成双轴定向挤压。

支持体,其中微孔化组成片层和双轴定向片层在其上被层合而用作层合的成像支持体,或者用于形成感光卤化银层的支持体可以是聚合的、合成纸、布、纺织聚合物纤维或优选的纤维素纤维纸支持体或其叠层。片基也可以是微孔化的聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯,如US专利4912333、4994312和5055371中所述,其公开内容在此引作参考。
优选的支持体是照相级纤维素纤维纸。当使用纤维素纤维纸支持体时,优选使用聚烯烃树脂挤压叠层微孔化复合片层。将本发明双轴定向片层和片基纸放在一起,在它们之间使用粘合剂,随后在一种压轧机中如两个圆辊间进行挤压,由此完成挤压叠层。可在将其放入压轧机之前,将粘合剂涂在双轴定向片层或片基纸上。优选方式是将粘合剂与双轴定向片层和片基纸同时加入到压轧机中。粘合剂可以是任意合适的对照相材料没有害处效果的物质。优选物质是聚乙烯,它在被加入到压轧机中纸与双轴定向片层之间时是熔化的。
为使所得层合支持体的卷曲最小化,在叠层过程中需要一直控制双轴定向片层的张力。为高湿度(>50%RH)和低湿度(<20%RH)下使用,需要将前面和背面膜均进行叠加以使卷曲最小。
在一优选实例中,为生产具有所需照片视觉和感觉的层合片基,优选使用较厚的纸支持体(如至少120微米厚,优选120-250微米厚)和较薄的微孔化复合片层(如小于50微米厚,优选20-50微米,更优选30-50微米厚)。
照相材料可以是单色材料或多色材料。多色材料包含图像染料形成单元,其对光谱的三个主要区段均敏感。每个单元可含对所给光谱区敏感的单层乳剂层或多层乳剂层。可将含图像形成单元层的材料层以各种本领域已知顺序进行排列。另一种方式是,可将对光谱的三个主要区敏感的乳剂层作为单一分割层处理。
通常用本领域常规方法通过在胶体基底中沉积卤化银晶体来制备用于本发明的照相乳剂。胶体一般为亲水膜形成剂,如凝胶、藻酸及其衍生物。
洗涤沉淀步骤中形成的晶体,然后,通过加入光谱增感染料和化学增感剂并加热来进行化学和光谱增感,加热过程中乳剂温度提高,一般为40-70℃,且此温度被保持一段时间。本发明中采用的制备乳剂中使用的沉淀和光谱化学增感法是本领域熟知的那些方法。
乳剂的化学增感通常使用如下增感剂:含硫化合物如异硫氰酸烯丙酯、硫代硫酸钠和烯丙基硫脲;还原剂如聚胺和亚锡盐;贵金属化合物如金、铂;聚合物试剂如聚氧化烷烯。正如所述,采用热处理完成化学增感。结合使用所需波长范围在可见光或红外光谱内的染料进行光谱增感。已知在热处理前后均加入这种染料。
在光谱增感后将乳剂涂覆在支持体上。各种涂覆方法包括浸涂、空气刮涂、幕涂和挤压贴胶。
本发明中使用的卤化银乳剂可由任何卤化物种类组成。因此,它们可由氯化银、溴化银、溴氯化银、氯溴化银、碘氯化银、碘溴化银、溴碘氯化银、氯碘溴化银、氯碘化银、碘溴氯化银和碘氯溴化银乳剂组成。但优选乳剂主要为氯化银乳剂。主要为氯化银的意思是乳剂晶粒为约多于50%摩尔的氯化银。优选约多于90%摩尔的氯化银;最佳为约多于95%摩尔的氯化银。
卤化银乳剂可包含任何大小和形态的晶粒。因此,晶粒可以呈立方体、八面体、立方一八面体或任何其它天然存在形态的立体晶格类型的卤化银晶粒。或者晶粒可以是不规则的,如球形晶粒或片状晶粒。优选片状或立方体形晶粒。
本发明照相材料可采用T.H.James所著的麦克米兰出版公司1977年出版的《照相过程理论》第4版第151-152页(The Theory of the Photographic Process,Fouth Edition,T.H.James,Macmillan Publishing Company,Inc.,1977,pages 151-152)中所述乳剂。已知增感还原能提高照片卤化银乳剂的感光性。虽然还原增感卤化银乳剂通常显示出良好的照相速度,但常常会出现不希望有的影像模糊且存放稳定性差。
通过加入能使银离子还原形成金属银原子的还原性增感剂、化学药品或通过提供如高pH(过量的氢氧离子)和/或低pAg(过量的银离子)这种还原环境,有目的地进行还原性增感。在卤化银乳剂沉淀过程中,例如当硝酸银或碱溶液被快速加入或没有充分混合以形成乳剂晶粒时,会发生非目的性的还原增感。在成熟剂(晶粒生长调节剂)如硫醚、硒醚、硫脲或胺存在时卤化银乳剂的沉淀也趋于促进还原性增感。
还原性增感剂和在沉淀或光谱/化学增感过程中可用于还原增感乳剂的环境条件的例子包括美国专利2487850、2512925和英国专利789823中描述的抗坏血酸衍生物、锡化合物、聚胺化合物和基于硫脲二氧化物的化合物。S.Collier在Photographic Science and Engineering,23,113(1979)(照相科学及工程)中讨论了还原性增感剂或条件的具体例子如二甲胺甲硼烷、氯化亚锡、肼、高pH(pH8-11)和低pAg(pAg1-7)熟化。制备有目的还原增感的卤化银乳剂的方法例子描述于EP 0348934 A1(Yamashita)、EP 0369491(Yamashita)、EP 0371388(Ohashi)、EP 0396424Al(Takada)、EP 0404142Al(Yamada)和EP0435355Al(Makino)。
本发明的照相材料可使用掺有VIII族金属如铱、铑、锇和铁的乳剂,如Research Disclosure,Sep.1994,Item 36544,Section I(研究公报,1994年9月,第36544项,第I部分),由Kenneth Mason Publications,Ltd.,Dudley Annex,12aNorth Street,Emsworth,Hampshire,p010 7DQ,ENGLAND出版。此外,Carroll在“Iridium Sensitization:A Literature Review,”Photographic Science andEngineering,Vol.24,No.6,1980(“铱增感:文献综述”,照相科学及工程,第24卷,第6期,1980)中给出在卤化银乳剂增感中使用铱的综述。美国专利4693965中描述了铱盐和照相光谱增感染料存在时通过化学增感乳剂制备卤化银乳剂的方法。在某些情况中,掺入这种掺杂剂时,当在回色E-6过程中加工时乳剂显示出新增多的模糊影像且较低对比度的感光曲线,正如TheBritish Journal of Photography Annual(英国照相年鉴杂志),1982,第201-203页中所述。
一般本发明的多色照相材料包括本发明层合支持体,其具有包括至少一层红色敏感的卤化银乳剂层的氰染料成像单元,与至少一种氰染料形成偶联剂相关;包括至少一层绿色敏感的卤化银乳剂层的品红成像单元,与至少一种品红染料形成偶联剂相关;包括至少一层蓝色敏感的卤化银乳剂层的黄色染料成像单元,与至少一种黄色染料形成偶联剂相关。该材料可包含其它层,如滤光层、中间层、涂覆层、胶层等等。本发明的支持体还可被用于黑白照片的印片材料。
照相材料还可包含透明的磁性记录层,如在透明支持体下一层含磁粉层,正如美国专利4279945和4302523中所述。通常该材料总厚度(不包括支持体)为约5-30微米。

可用各种形式的能量曝光该照相材料,包括电磁波谱的紫外区、可见光和红外区以及电子束、β射线、γ射线、x-射线、α粒子、中子射线和由激光器产生的其它形式的呈不相干(随机相位)形式或相干(同相)形式的粒子式和波式射线能量。当用x-射线曝光照相材料时,它们会包含常规射线照相材料中可见的特征。
优选将照相材料曝光于光化射线,一般在光谱的可见光区,以形成一个潜影,然后优选通过其它处理而非热处理加工以形成可视影像。优选在已知RA-4TM(Eastman Kodak Company东洋柯达公司)Process或其它适于显影高氯化物乳剂的冲洗加工系统中进行冲洗加工。
尽管主要讨论了用作照相层合片基,该片基也可以用于生成其它成像,这些包括用于油墨喷射、热染料转印和电照相成像。
本发明层合基底可具有如1996年2月8日递交的美国专利申请08/598785和同一天递交的申请08/598778中公开的插入拷贝限制特征。这些申请公开了通过将不可见网点图案包埋入文件中使文件拷贝受到限制。但是,通过数字式文件复印机的电光扫描装置可探测这些网点。在整个文件中可插入网点图案。这种文件也可具有彩色边或在背面具有不可视网点图案,能使使用者或机器认出和识别介质。介质可以是能带有影像的片层形式。这种材料的典型形式是由聚乙烯树脂涂层纸、聚酯、聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯和三乙酸纤维素基材料组成的相纸和胶片材料。
网点可为大小小于最大值的任何规则或不规则形状,最大值时个别网点足以被察觉,降低影像的使用率,通过扫描装置的检测水平限定最小水平值。使用中心至中心空间控制以避免文件密度增加,可以规则或不规则排列进行网点分布。网点可以是任何色彩、亮度和饱和度,不会导致随意观察足可发觉,但优选色彩至少可被人眼分辨,而且,适于符合最佳探测所用的文件扫描装置的感光性。
在一实施方案中,含信息的文件由支持体、涂覆于支持体上的影像形成层和位于支持体和影像形成层之间的以提供拷贝限制介质的网点组成。
在制备源文件之前或之后通过各种印片方法可以使网点图案插入到文件介质中。网点可由任意彩色物质组成,尽管依赖于文件性质,着色剂可以是半透明、透明或不透明的。优选在施用保护层之前在支持体层上定位网点图案,除非保护层包含光散射颜料。然后,应将网点定位于该层上,并优选用保护层涂层。网点可由选自照相领域已知的影像染料和滤光染料的着色剂组成,并分散于印片油墨或光敏感介质所用的粘合剂或载体中。
在一优选方案中,可通过感光材料对电磁辐射的可见光或不可见光波长合适的瞬时、空间和光谱曝光,可产生网点图案的潜影。通过采用标准的照相化学冲洗过程可以使潜影网点图案可察觉。网孔对彩色和黑白成像照相介质均特别有用。这类照相介质含至少一层卤化银辐射感光层,尽管一般来说这类照相介质含至少三层卤化银辐射感光层。这种介质还可能含多于一层的对同区辐射敏感层。层的排列可呈本领域已知的任何形式,正如1995年2月的ResearchDisclosure(研究公报)37038中所述。
下面的实施例说明本发明的实施。其意图不在于穷举本发明所有可能的变化。除非另有说明,份数及百分率均为重量比。实施例1-5为层合片基材料的一般实施例。较高序号的实施例更好地详细说明这里所要求的本发明。
实施例中的商业级纸
将50%漂白硬木牛皮纸、25%漂白的硬木亚硫酸盐纸浆和25%漂白的软木亚硫酸纸浆的精制纸浆配料通过一双盘匀浆机,接着通过Jordan锥形匀浆机至200C的加拿大标准打浆度。向产生的纸浆配料中加入以干重0.2%烷基乙烯酮二聚体,1.0%阳离子玉米淀粉,0.5%聚酰胺表氯醇,0.26阳离子聚丙烯酰胺和5.0%TiO2。在长网选纸机上生产出约46.5lbs/1000sq.ft.(ksf)的无水干重的片基纸,湿压为42%的固体,使用蒸汽加热干燥器干燥至10%的湿度,得到160 Sheffield单元的Sheffield孔隙度和0.70g/cc的表观密度。用10%羟乙基化的玉米淀粉溶液,使用垂直上胶挤压将相纸片基进行表面上胶以获得3.3%(重量计)的淀粉上胶。表面上胶支持体被砑光为1.04gm/cc的表观密度。

实施例1
通过将下面的片层挤压叠层至照相级纤维素相纸支持体的两面来制备下面的层合照相片基:

复合片层(38微米厚)(d=0.62g/cc)由微孔化和定向的聚丙烯核心(整个片层厚度的约73%)组成,在各面具有二氧化钛着色的无微孔定向的聚丙烯层;孔起始物质为聚(对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯)。
下部片层:(背面)
BICOR 70 MLT(Mobil.Chemical Co.)
一面无光光洁度、一面经处理的聚丙烯片层(18μm厚度)(d=0.9g.cc)由固体定向的聚丙烯核心组成。
上部和下部片层均被用纯聚烯烃(25g/m2)挤压叠层至照相级纤维素相纸支持体上。接着将该层合支持体用彩色感光的卤化银层涂覆。
为了评价上面照相材料的卷曲,使用柯达卷曲试验(Kodak Curl Test)。
该试验测量抛物线形样品中的卷曲量。将8.5cm直径的复合物的圆形样品在试验湿度下贮存21天。所需时间的长短取决于被施加在湿度敏感相纸片基上的叠层制件的蒸汽防护栅性能,并应按照需要进行调节,确定在测试湿度中使样品重量平衡所需的时间。卷曲读数以ANSI卷曲单位表示,具体的即100除以曲率半径(英寸)。
通过目视将卷曲的形状沿卷曲轴的可视度与背景中标准曲线比较来确定曲率半径。试验的标准偏差为2个卷曲单位。卷曲可为正向的或反向的,并且对于照相产品,通常情况是正面面向感光层卷曲。

一面无光光洁度、一面经处理的聚丙烯片层(18μm厚度)(d=0.9g/cc)由固体定向的聚丙烯核心组成。
通过用纯的聚烯烃(25g/m2)挤压层合至照相级纤维素相纸支持体上制备下面三种样品:
支持体A:PF1上部片层和70MLT下部片层。
支持体B:PF2上部片层和70MLT下部片层。
支持体C:PF3上部片层和70MLT下部片层。
为了评价上面照相材料的不透明度,用Hunter分光光费计CIE体系D65来进例示准的不透明度试验。在此试验中,由标准的彩色相纸组成的对照样品被用来比较结果。该不透明度试验使用大小为25×106cm的样品段并测定样品的不透明度,如下计算不透明度的百分率:
其中样品的不透明度等于所测支持体样品的不透明度,对照的不透明度等于标准彩色照相支持体的不透明度,结果示于下表II中:

上面的数据表明通过将微孔双轴定向片层(支持体A和支持体B情况中)挤压层合至标准的纤维素照相纸,照相支持体的不透明度比相关现有技术中使用的照相支持体优越。无微孔的支持体C具有较小的不透明度。这表明当与对照比较时,微孔支持体A和B优异的不透明度。在不透明度不是第一重要的情况时,如当它被二氧化钛涂覆,但仍获得增加的抗卷曲性和改善的影像质量这些优点时,使用支持体C也会满意的。
实施例3
通过将下面的片层挤压叠层至照相级纤维素相纸支持体的两面制备下面的层合照相片基。
上部片层
Oppalyte 350 TW(Mobil Chemical Co.)
复合层(38μm厚度)(d=0.75g/cc)由微孔化和定向的聚丙烯核心(整个片层厚度的约73%)组成,具有一面为二氧化钛着色系统(包括所需的色彩调节)的无微孔定向的聚丙烯层及纯无微孔定向聚丙烯层面;孔起始物质为聚(对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯)。
下部片层:
BICOR 70 MLT(Mobil Chemical Co.)
一面无光光洁度、一面经处理的聚丙烯片层(18μm厚度)(d=0.9g/cc)由固体定向的聚丙烯核心组成。
上部和下部片层均被用纯聚烯烃(25g/m2)挤压层合至照相级纤维素相纸支持体上。
由于在加入其它感光层以前测定了白度,所以不需用彩色感光卤化银层涂覆层合支持体。
为了评价上面照相材料的白度,采用HUNTER分光光度计CIE体系D65方法来测定L Star UVO(紫外光滤出)。在此试验中,采用由标准的彩色相纸组成的对照样品来比较结果。92.95的L Star UVO值被认为正常。实施例的结果为93.49,在所需方向上有显著变化。
上面数据表明,当在两面与双轴定向分层一起挤压层合时,与相关现有技术使用的照相片基相比,照相级纤维素相纸在照相白度方面是最佳的。
实施例4
通过将下面的片层挤压叠层至照相级纤维素相纸支持体的两面制备下面的层合照相片基。
顶部片层
Oppalyte 350 TW(Mobil Chemical Co.)
复合层(38um厚度)(d=0.62g/cc)由微孔化和定向的聚丙烯核心(整个片层厚度的约73%)组成,在各面具有二氧化钛着色的无微孔定向的聚丙烯层;孔起始物质为聚(对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯)。
下部片层:
BICOR 70 MLT(Mobil Chemical Co.)
一面无光光洁度、一面经处理的聚丙烯片层(18μm厚度)(d=0.9g/cc)由固体定向的聚丙烯核心组成。
组装的结构表明具有比其它用聚丙烯或其它聚烯烃涂覆的相纸片基结构更为优秀的抗撕裂性。
为了评价抗撕裂性,使用TAPPI法414,通过埃尔曼多夫扯裂试验测试上面的结构及标准的彩色支持体的对照样品。结果示于下表III中。

上面数据表明当在两面与双轴定向片层一起挤压层合时,与相关现有技术的使用的照相片基相比,照相级纤维素相纸在照相片基抗撕裂方面是最佳的。
实施例5
通过将约等摩尔的硝酸银和氯化钠溶液加入至含明胶胶溶剂和硫醚催熟剂的搅拌均匀的反应器中来制备黄色乳剂YE1。加入制备形成过程的1~70%的戊氯亚硝酸锇酸盐和制备形成过程的93%的碘化钾以形成碘化银晶粒带。得到的乳剂含有边长大小为0.60μm的立方体形晶粒。通过加入戊二酸二氨基苯基硫化物,接着加入硫化亚金的胶体悬浮物并倾斜加热至60℃来将该乳剂进行最佳增感,其中在此期间加入定时蓝色感光染料,Dye1,六氯化铱酸钾(potasium hexachloroiridate),Lippmann溴和1-(3乙酸氨基苯基)-5-硫基四唑。
通过将约等摩尔的硝酸银和氯化钠溶液加入至含明胶胶溶剂和硫醚催熟剂的搅拌均匀的反应器中来沉淀品红乳剂ME1。所得乳剂含有边长度大小为0.30μm的立方体形晶粒。通过加入硫化亚金的胶体悬浮物并加热至55℃,将该乳剂进行最佳增感。接着加入下面成分:六氯铱酸钾,Lippmann溴和绿增感染料,Dye2。接着将最终乳剂冷却,并在冷却开始后几秒钟加入1-(3-乙酰氨基苯基)-5-巯基四唑。
通过将约等摩尔的硝酸银和氯化钠溶液加入至含有明胶胶溶剂和硫醚催熟剂的搅拌均匀的反应器中来沉淀氰基乳剂CE1。另外在制备过程中加入汞。所得乳剂包含边长大小为0.40微米的立方体形晶粒。通过加入双(1,4,5-三甲基-1,2,4-三唑翁-3-硫醇)氟硼酸金(I)和硫代硫酸钠,并接着在65℃加热消化来将该乳剂进行最佳增感。接着加入下面成分:1-(3乙酸氨基苯基)-5-巯基四唑,六氯铱酸钾和溴化钾。将乳剂冷却至40℃,加入红色感光染料Dye3。
通过现有技术已知方法将乳剂YE1、ME1和CE1与携带成色剂的分散剂混合,并加至根据表格1中所示结构的实施例1的分层片基上以制备具有低卷曲和优异强度性能的照相材料。

实施例6
通过将下面的片层与照相级纤维素纸支持体的两面挤压叠层来制备下面的层合照相片基:
BICOR 70 MLT(Mobil Chemical Company)
一面无光洁度,一面经处理的聚丙烯片层(18mm厚)(d=0.9g/cm3)由固体聚丙烯核心组成。背面片层处理的一面,使用溶剂基油墨在多工位苯胺印刷机上在单一途径中已印制有五色彩图像。在一步中定位图像,并且在片层的机器和机器横向方向重复该图案。
将上面和背面片层与纯的聚乙烯一起挤压叠层到照相级纤维素纸支持体上(25g/m3)。
然后对叠层的支持体进行乳剂涂层,并且带有显影和印制的一层彩色感光层。
该实施例证明能将由多色彩印制图案组成的双轴定向聚丙烯膜层叠层到照相片基纸上,而不改变或降低印刷图案的质量。
通过具体优选实施例已对本发明进行了详细描述,但应理解可在本发明的精神和范围内作出改变和修饰。
Claims (30)
1.一种照相材料,其包含纸片基、至少一层感光卤化银层、和双轴定向的聚合物层,该层与所述纸片基的背面粘附,背对着涂覆至少一层所述卤化银感光层的面,其中在所述片基纸和所述聚合物层之间的所述聚合物层的表面提供有标记。
2.权利要求1的照相材料,其中所述材料在与所述片基纸的所述至少一层感光卤化银层的同侧进一步包括双轴定向聚烯烃片层。
3.权利要求1的照相材料,其中所述标记含有至少两种色彩印刷信息。
4.权利要求1的照相材料,其中所述双轴定向片层是透明的。
5.权利要求1的照相材料,其中所述材料在所述至少一层感光层和所述片基纸之间的所述片基纸的上面进一步包括双轴定向片层。
6.权利要求5的照相材料,其中所述上面片层包括微孔化聚烯烃片层,其中微孔化聚烯烃片层固体百分密度在大约78%-100%之间。
7.权利要求6的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层包含非微孔化表层。
8.权利要求7的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层在每一面包含表层。
9.权利要求7的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层厚度在约0.0127至0.0635之间。
10.权利要求7的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层包含二氧化钛层。
11.权利要求5的照相材料,在所述微孔化片层和所述片基纸之间还包含聚乙烯层。
12.权利要求5的照相材料,其中所述微孔化层的杨氏模量在约690-5516Mpa之间。
13.一种形成用于成像材料的层合片基的方法,包括提供预先制成的双轴定向聚烯烃微孔化片层,提供片基纸,将粘合剂涂在所述片基纸上面,同时将所述双轴定向片层粘在所述粘合剂上以连接所述微孔化层和所述片基纸,提供有标记的双轴定向聚合物片层背面片层,并将所述背面片层用粘合剂叠层到所述片基纸背面。
14.权利要求13的方法,其中所述粘合剂含有聚烯烃。
15.权利要求13的方法,其中所述粘合剂含有挤压到所述片基纸上部和下部的聚乙烯。
16.权利要求13的方法,其中所述粘合剂含有粘合聚合物。
17.权利要求13的材料,其中所述标记印在所述纸的背部片层的一面。
18.权利要求13的材料,其中所述标记印在所述下部片层的下部。
19.权利要求13的材料,其中所述标记是多色彩的。
20.一种照相材料,其包含纸片基、至少一层感光卤化银层、和与所述纸片基的背面粘连的双轴定向的聚合物层,背对涂覆至少一层所述感光卤化银层的面,其中所述聚合物层是白色的或彩色的并提供有标记。
21.权利要求20的照相材料,其中所述材料在与所述片基纸的所述至少一层感光卤化银层的同侧进一步包括双轴定向聚烯烃片层。
22.权利要求20的照相材料,其中所述标记含有至少两种色彩印刷信息。
23.权利要求20的照相材料,其中所述双轴定向片层是不透明的。
24.权利要求20的照相材料,其中所述材料在所述至少一层感光层和所述片基纸之间的所述片基纸的上面进一步包括双轴定向片层。
25.权利要求24的照相材料,其中所述上面片层包括微孔化聚烯烃片层,其中微孔化聚烯烃片层固体百分密度在大约78%-100%之间。
26.权利要求25的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层包含非微孔化表层。
27.权利要求26的照相材料,其中所述微孔化聚烯烃片层厚度在约0.0127至0.0635mm之间。
28.权利要求24的照相材料,在所述微孔化片层和所述片基纸之间进一步含有聚乙烯层。
29.权利要求24的照相材料,其中所述微孔化层的杨氏模量在约690-5516Mpa之间。
30.权利要求1的照相材料,在所述至少一层卤化银层和所述双轴定向聚烯烃层之间进一步含有网点拷贝限制图案。
