A battery-operated automatic toilet flushing system has also been disclosed in US Patent No. 5,169,118, filed December 8, 1992, entitled "Electromagnetically Operated Battery-Powered Flush Valve." In this particular system, the valve itself is actually battery powered and uses an infrared sensor connected to the battery along with a solenoid valve mechanism. However, the system taught in the '118 patent is again designed for use with a commercial or industrial type of toilet or urinal.

Various types of toilet assemblies with odor reduction systems are known in the art. An effective way to remove odors from toilet bowls is to draw odorous air from the toilet bowl through the flush rim. Ventilation systems utilizing this air channel are disclosed in US Patent Nos. 3,703,010, 4,165,544, 4,583,250, 4,989,276, 5,321,856 and 5,617,590.

The system described in the '010 patent includes a suction device in air communication with the air space between the water within the tank and the tank lid. The suction device is capable of extracting odorous air that has moved from the toilet rim into the air space through the overflow pipe, and then exhausts the odorous air from the toilet bowl through the exhaust pipe. Especially when the toilet is being flushed, drawing air from the air space in the closed tank can create suction pressure. Therefore, the '010 system requires a regulating valve to reduce suction in the tank.

Similarly, the flush toilet exhaust systems disclosed in the '856 and '590 patents are also designed to extract odorous air from the air space above the water level in the tank. These systems include sealing means ('856 patent) or flexible strips ('590 patent) that can be installed at the upper edge of the tank. The seal of the '856 patent is a hollow strip in air communication with the hose connector and the blower. The seal defines a hole facing the interior of the tank for receiving odors from the air space. Odor air enters the seal and is drawn into the hose connector for remote venting. The flexible strip of the '590 patent seals the lid of the tank to create an airtight space from which odorous air is drawn. Both systems require venting to reduce undesired suction problems when flushing the toilet.

Unlike the previously described patents, the '544 patent describes a system designed to extract odorous air from the upper end of the overflow tube. The system includes a hollow, open-bottomed vertical sleeve positioned over the upper end of the overflow pipe. The lower end of the sleeve terminates below the water level in the tank, thereby achieving a water seal to provide closed communication between the overflow passage and the sleeve. The system also includes means for generating low air pressure, which is connected to the sleeve to extract odorous air from the sleeve for remote venting. The inefficiency of extracting odorous air from the sleeve into the exhaust can be a disadvantage of this system, as only low air pressure can be applied so that the water in the sleeve is not pumped out. Yet another system disclosed in the '276 patent shows a toilet system that includes a vent channel formed along the bottom and inside of the rear of the tank. The system also includes a ventilation adapter mounted inside the channel, the ventilation adapter directing ventilation air to flow along the ventilation channel to the exhaust fan for flow to the outside atmosphere. One disadvantage of this system is the need for specially designed toilet bowls and cisterns.

Similar to ventilated toilet systems, several patents have disclosed different types of toilet systems that include automatic flushing mechanisms. For example, US Patent Nos. 4,831,670 and 5,369,816 disclose toilet systems with weight-activated flushing mechanisms. This type of mechanism includes an electric motor that is activated by the weight of a user sitting on the seat and then leaving the seat. When the motor is activated, the release mechanism opens the flush valve for flushing with water. The main disadvantage of the weight activated flush mechanism is that the weight activated flush mechanism does not operate when the user is not seated on the seat. Therefore, when the toilet is used by a person who does not normally sit on the seat to urinate, the toilet needs to be flushed manually.

US Patent No. 5,901,384 discloses a different flushing mechanism. The mechanism includes a motion sensing device positioned in the tank and aligned with a window in the toilet lid when the lid is in the raised position. The motion sensing device is operably connected to a motor that drives an L-shaped lever connected to the flapper valve. The flushing system works when the motion sensing device is activated when the user uses the toilet and then moves away from the toilet. The motion sensing device charges the motor, which drives the lever up, which lifts the flapper and opens the valve for flushing with water.

A similar flushing system is disclosed in US Patent No. 4,141,091. The system consists of three functional blocks: an input sensor or switch, a logic control circuit, and an electromechanical liquid dispenser or flusher. The entire assembly attached to the inside of the tank is hermetically sealed to protect the actuator from moisture and possible corrosion. The removable end of the plunger has a chain or wire that connects to the flush handle and drain valve. In the flushing systems of the '384 and '091 patents, most of the components must be installed within the tank. A possible concern with these systems is the inability to fit all the parts into an existing toilet system and the need to modify the tank and toilet lid to locate the motion sensing device.

To date, no system has been provided for use in a domestic or commercial toilet system having an adjustable seat and a spa as a unit with a seat warmer, Five buttons for bidet sprayer, sound system, water flusher and automatic air freshener. It would be desirable to provide a luxury toilet system for toilets in private residential structures or commercial facilities.
