The invention discloses an ultra-low temperature cold start system and a start method of a diesel engine, when the water temperature of an engine, the engine oil temperature and the air inlet temperature are all lower than minus 35 ℃, an electric heating device stops air inlet, the electric heating device heats the air in an air inlet pipe and then introduces the air into the engine, the engine rotates, an oil injector does not inject oil, the air in an exhaust pipe is introduced into the air inlet pipe again, the electric heating device heats the air in the air inlet pipe and then introduces the air into the engine, the steps are repeated until the air inlet temperature of the engine is not lower than minus 10 ℃, the oil injector starts oil injection, the engine enters air. When the military vehicle is dragged by the starter, the air heated by the electric heating device is repeatedly compressed in the engine cylinder to work by controlling the opening and closing of the air inlet and exhaust valves, so that the air inlet temperature is quickly increased to reach the starting condition.
