Abstract

Description
本发明涉及活的组织的电刺激,尤其涉及一种方便的便携式电刺激装置和方法,用于选择地对活的组织提供电刺激。
由活的组织的电刺激而得到的有益的结果在本领域中是熟知的,其范围从用于综合神经纤维和机体刺激的装置,例如美国专利No.5,117,826所述,到用于治疗单纯性疱疹的方法,例如美国专利No.5,133,352所述。在这个整个领域内的其它的装置包括在美国专利No.4,922,906中所述的小型低频治疗装置;在美国专利No.5,107,835中所述的电疗治疗装置;在美国专利No.4,913,148中所述的用于治疗单纯性疱疹和带状疱疹的方法;以及在美国专利No.5,133,351中所述的低频电疗装置等。
这些已有的参考文献披露了一种相当复杂的装置,其中涉及多方面的准备才能使用,或者太笨重而不便于携带。然而,本发明人已经发现,在疱疹引起的损害发展之前,具有一种相关的神经感觉,通知病人这种损害处于发展阶段。本发明人还发现,在对损害处施加电刺激时,时序是重要的。尤其重要的是,在损害出现之前,病人有能力只根据损害前的神经感觉选择潜在的损害位置对潜在的损害位置迅速地施加电刺激。这又要求电刺激装置能够方便地利用,其构形应该是可以手持的,从而使用户能够对身体上任何预定的位置迅速地甚至分散地施加电刺激。这种装置和方法被披露了,并对其提出了权利要求。
本发明涉及一种新的用于对皮肤的预选区域提供电刺激的电刺激装置和方法。该装置是小的,具有含有电池、电路、开关的手持壳体和一对可拆卸地固定在该装置上的电极。两种颜色的指示灯系统提供视觉指示,用于表示该装置是处于可操作状态还是处于低电池状态。一个盖套叠地和壳体接合,从而罩住电极和开关并使装置具有光滑的轮廓。该装置足够小,使得可以方便地握在用户手中并可被固定在钥匙链上。小的体积,使用的方便,和美观的外形使得该装置容易携带,使用简单,进一步鼓励从利用本发明的装置和方法而得到好处的用户频繁地使用。电极被可拆卸地固定在该装置上,从而容易替换。

本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种小的、可以手持的电刺激装置。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种外形光滑的相当小的电刺激装置。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种具有一对可拆卸的电极的电刺激装置。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种具有用于罩住电极和开关的盖的电刺激装置。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种用于视觉地指示装置处于可操作状态的指示灯系统。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供一种用于指示处于低电池状态的指示系统。
本发明的这些和其它的目的和特点从下面的说明和权利要求中可以更清楚地看出。

总体论述
本发明人发明了一种新的可手持的电刺激装置和方法,能够使用户对皮肤的预选位置在任何预定的时间或时间间隔有选择地施加电刺激。之所以有这些新的特点是因为本发明的电刺激装置具有相当小的体积并可以被方便地使用。此外,尤其是本发明人设计的本发明的装置具有光滑的美观的外形,从而使其更容易携带和使用。为了在所有时间内都容易被用户携带,本发明人还设计了一个固定位置使得能够可拆卸地把电刺激装置固定在钥匙链等物上。
本发明的电刺激装置的结构包括一个壳体和一个可拆卸地罩在壳体端部的盖。壳体包含电池和电路以及可在外部操作的开关。一对电极被可拆卸地固定在壳体上并适合于和皮肤接触,从而提供和皮肤的电接触。电极被可拆卸地固定在壳体上,使得其可以被容易地消毒或在由于医药的原因而需要替换时进行替换。壳体具有相当小的外部构形,从而使其能够容易地握在用户手中,甚至可能隐藏在用户手中。这一特点使得可以提高本发明的装置的使用效率,使得用户可以离散地施加电刺激,否则会由于害怕而不使用这种新的发明。例如,如果用户正在参加音乐会并感觉到在唇部有疱疹损害的早期症状,用户便能够间歇地抚弄电刺激装置使电极接触唇部的受影响的区域,从而有效地禁止其上形成损害。
开关被安装在当把盖罩在壳体上时被盖隐藏的壳体某位置上。这种结构排除了当电刺激装置不被使用而被装在口袋,钱袋或类似物品中时开关发生误动作的可能性。
在壳体的基本上为电极之间的位置上设置有指示灯系统,当开关接通后有足够的电能供给电极时用于向用户提供视觉指示。这是一个重要的特征,因为由电刺激装置施加于电极上的电能是如此之低,使用户根据触觉不能检测。该指示灯向用户指示足够的电能正在供给电极。第二个指示灯向用户提供视觉指示,表示电池处于低电池状态而不能提供足够的电能供给本发明的电刺激。在这种情况下,用于低电池状态的一个指示灯可以是红的,而开关闭合时表示该装置正常工作的一个指示灯可以是绿的。
现在参看图1和图2,本发明的新的电刺激装置总体上用10表示。并且包括壳体12,盖14,和一对被可拆卸地安装在壳体12上的可替换电极16和17。接通开关20被嵌套在壳体12的一侧上的槽18内,并适合于当把盖14盖在壳体12上时被隐蔽在盖14的下面。壳体12包括在开关20的周围的下切部分22,从而容纳和开关20一道叠套地接收电极16和17的盖14,借以把所有元件都包括在盖14的空间内。下切部分22和盖14的尺寸被这样限定,使得盖14以快速配合的关系恰当地和壳体12接合。在外部,盖14和壳体12协同配合从而对整个电刺激装置10提供连续的光滑的外形,如同由壳体12和盖14的外表面所表示的。在壳体12的一端形成保持器42,并且包括通孔44用于把电刺激装置固定在钥匙链、证件卡片或其类似物上。
壳体12被设计成可以和每个电极16和17以快速配合关系可释放地接合。参看电极16,其中特别示出了在壳体12中的一个切除的部分,以便显示出壳体12和电极16之间的快速配合关系。电极16被设计成具有尖端24,该尖端具有围绕其基部的圆周槽26。在壳体12中,形成有孔28,用于使尖端24插入其中而和弹簧夹30接合。弹簧夹30由一对弹性的金属条32和33构成,其每一个是另一个的镜像,并分别包括斜面34和35,它们终接于向内的爪36和37。斜面34和35接收尖端24,尖端24强迫金属条32和33分开直槽26被爪36和37接合。金属条32和33的弹性为弹性夹30提供所需的保持力从而把电极可释放地保持在壳体12中。通过用户(未示出)牢固地抓紧电极16并快速地向外拉拔,使爪36和37从槽26中释放,从而可以容易地取下电极16。然后可对电极16消毒,甚至丢弃并换上另一个电极16。
壳体12包括设置在其端部的电极16和17之间的某位置的指示灯40,41。当开关20接通时,指示灯40向用户(未示出)提供视觉指示,表示有足够的电能可被电极16,17所利用。设置指示灯40尤其重要,因为供给电极16和17的电流是如此之低,以致于当电刺激装置施加于组织时不能检测到。在另一方面,指示灯41向用户提供视觉指示,表示电刺激装置处于低电池状态,从而没有足够的电能为电极16和17所利用。当开关20接通时,或者指示灯40或者41将发光,借以方便地通知用户电刺激装置10的操作状态。在电刺激装置10的一个原型中,在发光时指示灯40为绿灯,而41为红灯。当然,显然如果电池完全用尽,指示灯40和41都不会发光。
如图2所示,壳体12被设计成使得可隐藏地接收在手60的范围内,如果需要,电刺激装置10的主体也被隐藏在手内而使电极16和17从中伸出。通过使电刺激装置10具有相当小的体积便可实现这种隐藏,例如,使其长度为5-8厘米,宽度为2-3厘米,厚度大约为1厘米。显然,这些尺寸只是一个近似值,主要用来强调这样一个事实,即电刺激装置10,尤其是壳体12是容易被隐藏在手掌60中的,如果需要的话。电刺激装置10的另一个有利的特征是其外部具有圆的拐角,从而使得当被手掌60握持时或当被装在口袋或钱包(未示出)中时减少妨碍。重要的是,电刺激装置10具有特定的外形,使得容易携带,在使用期间容易隐藏,并且操作简单,借以鼓励用户总是携带着电刺激装置10,并不管特定环境,只要需要将使用它。这是重要的,因为这能使用户在其感到疱疹损害形成之前的初始的触觉感知时立即施加电刺激。特别是,皮肤62被示意地表示为其上形成有损害64的部分。电极16和17正在与皮肤62实现接触以便夹住损害处64,电极16和17在皮肤62上的接触点分别表示为66,67。应该注意,其中所示损害64作为可见的损害以便于说明,本发明的优选的目的是用于在损害64成为可见的之前对皮肤62提供电刺激。
现在参看图3,其中示出了以标号70表示的用于电刺激装置10的电路的实施例,其包括电池50,电路52,和电极引线56,57,用于分别使电路52和电极16,17互连。开关20被插在电池50和电路52之间的引线54中,并被手动地操作以便控制使电能从电池50流到电路52,再流到电极16和17。指示灯40和41跨联在电引线56和57上。指示灯40提供表示电能正在供给电极16,17的视觉指示。指示灯41是一个低电池指示器。指示灯40,41是重要的,因为供给电极16,17的电能太弱而使用户只凭感觉检测不到。因而,如果不提供指示灯41,则不能向用户表示处于电池低的状态。
方法
本发明的新的方法由用户(未示出)实施,用户在手60中握着电刺激装置10,除去盖而露出开关20。使电极16,17的端部接触皮肤62的表面,夹住损害64,分别如66,67所示。然后,用户按下开关20,使电流从电池50通过电路52流到电极16,17。具体地说,闭合开关20使电能从电池50通过引线54被送到电路装置52的电路中,在其中产生所需的电脉冲分别通过引线56,57被送到电极16,17。在图3所示的简化的电路70的电路图中,所示的指示灯40直接跨接在引线56,57上。这种结构使得对用户提供正在向电极16,17供电的直接指示。在没有足够的电能由电池50供出的情况下,指示灯41将作为低电池指示器而发光。
通过损害64的电能引起其细胞结构的变化,从而加快损害64的痊愈。虽然对于使用电刺激装置10使损害64加速痊愈的机理尚不十分清楚,但本发明人已经证实,在对损害64的治愈速度方面具有重大的促进。
不脱离本发明的构思或基本特征可以用其它的形式实施本发明。所述的实施例在所有方面只是说明而不是限制本发明。因此,本发明的范围由所附权利要求表示而不是上述说明表示。所有落在权利要求的等效物范围内的改变都被包括在权利要求的范围内。
要求保护的权利要求是:
Claims (14)
1.一种用于施加电刺激的装置,包括:
壳体;
一对从所述壳体中伸出的电极;
在所述壳体中的用于对所述电极提供电流的电池装置;
在所述壳体上的用于控制流向所述电极的所述电流的开关装置;
其中所述壳体包括一个盖和与所述电极以及所述开关装置相邻的下切部分,所述下切部分接收所述的盖,从而封闭所述电极和所述开关装置。
2.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述一对电极包括第一电极和第二电极,所述第一电极和所述第二电极的每一个具有带有第一端和第二端的细长的本体,所述第一端具有光滑的外形,用于接触组织,所述第二端包括爪形装置,用于可释放地把所述细长的本体固定在所述壳体上。
3.如权利要求2所述的装置,其中所述壳体包括夹持装置,用于可释放地把所述细长本体固定在所述壳体内,所述夹持装置还提供和所述细长本体的电接触。
4.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述壳体包括第一指示灯,当所述开关装置接通并且所述电池正在向所述电极提供预定的电流时所述第一指示灯发光。
5.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述壳体包括第二指示灯,当所述开关装置接通并且所述电池没有正在向所述电极提供足够的电流时所述第二指示灯发光。
6.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述下切部分包括在所述开关装置周围形成的一个槽。
7.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述的盖以可拆下的方式安装在所述壳体上,从而对所述装置提供光滑的外形。
8.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述壳体包括一个系绳装置用于接收一个小索,系住所述壳体。
9.一种用于对组织施加电刺激的装置,包括:
壳体,所述壳体具有光滑的外形和在所述壳体一端的下切部分;
设置在所述壳体的所述下切部分内的开关;
一对从所述壳体的所述一端伸出的电极;
一个用于所述壳体的盖,所述盖被接收在所述下切部分上,以便包围所述电极对,和使所述壳体的所述光滑的外形连续;
在所述壳体中的电池;以及
在所述壳体中的被电连接在所述电池和所述电极之间的电路,所述开关装置控制电能通过所述电路从所述电池流到所述电极。
10.如权利要求9所述的装置,其中所述电极被可拆下地固定在所述壳体上。
11.如权利要求10所述的装置,其中所述每个电极被制成具有圆柱形的外形,并在一端具有圆形尖端,在另一端具有尖的尖端,在所述尖的尖端附近具有一个带槽的擒纵机构,所述壳体包括一个弹性夹,用于可释放地和所述擒纵机构接合。
12.如权利要求9所述的装置,其中所述壳体包括一个系绳装置用于系住所述壳体。
