Cross Reference of Related Applications
The present application claims priority from U.S. provisional patent application No. 63/368,332, "suspender trousers with underside opening (OVERALLS WITH AN UNDERSDE OPENING)" filed on 7/13 of 2022, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
Technical Field
The present invention relates generally to pants. In particular, the invention relates to a pair of suspender trousers (overalls) having an underside opening.
Background
The suspender trousers generally include a closable opening (or trousers top fly) in the front central region that facilitates putting on and taking off the trousers and allows a wearer with male urinary anatomy to urinate without taking off the trousers. However, these designs require the wearer with female urologic to take the suspender pants off the waist in order to urinate, exposing more body parts to bad weather or other people's vision. This can be inconvenient and unsafe, especially in severe environmental/weather conditions and/or in non-private situations, such as long hiking, riding or skiing adventure, or in situations encountered in certain workplaces.
Disclosure of Invention
In one embodiment, the underside opening for the suspender trousers comprises at least one closable opening extending a length from the lower end of the trousers front fly of the suspender trousers, through the crotch region of the suspender trousers and up towards the rear centre of the waist of the suspender trousers. The underside opening for the suspender trousers further comprises a zipper track extending a second length from a lower end of a trousers front fly of the suspender trousers, through a crotch region of the suspender trousers, and extending upwardly toward a rear center of a waist of the suspender trousers.
In another embodiment, a garment includes a pant portion including a waist of trousers, a bib portion attached to the waist of trousers, at least one closable opening, and a zipper track. The at least one closable opening extends a length from a lower end of a fly of the pant portion, through a crotch region of the pant portion, and upward toward a rear center of the waist of the pant. The zipper track extends a second length from the lower end of the pants fly of the pants section, through the crotch region of the pants section, and upward toward the rear center of the waist of the pants.
In another embodiment, a method of making suspender trousers includes attaching a bib portion to a waist of trousers and attaching a left leg portion to the waist of trousers. The method further includes attaching the right leg portion to the waist of the pant and attaching the zipper, the outer cover, and the inner cover to the right leg portion or the left leg portion. The method further includes attaching the right leg portion or the left leg portion to the zipper, the outer cover, and the inner cover. The zipper, outer cover and inner cover define a lower opening that extends a length from a lower end of the fly to a rear center of the waist of the pant.

Detailed Description
The suspender trousers with an underside opening of the present invention facilitate urination for a person with female urinary anatomy or may enable a person with male or female urinary anatomy to urinate without taking the trousers off the waist. In an embodiment, the suspender trousers of the present invention comprise an opening that can be opened and closed, an underside opening, and a front-of-a-false opening or a fly opening.
Referring to the drawings, in an embodiment, the suspender trousers having a lower side opening of the present invention are, for example, suspender trousers 200 shown in fig. 1 to 12. Fig. 1 shows a front view of a suspender trousers or coveralls (coveralls) 200 that includes an underside opening 202 that facilitates urination by those having female urinary anatomy or possibly defecation by those having male or female urinary anatomy without taking the trousers off the waist. Fig. 2 is a side view of the suspender trousers 200 shown in fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows a rear view of the suspender trousers 200 shown in fig. 2. Fig. 4 shows another side view of the suspender trousers 200 shown in fig. 1.
As shown in fig. 1-4, suspender trousers 200 comprise a trousers portion 204 and a bib portion (bib portion) 206 attached to trousers portion 204. The underside opening 202 is at least partially formed in the pants portion 204. In some embodiments, the underside opening 202 is formed only in the pants portion 204. In other embodiments described herein, the underside opening 202 is formed in the pants portion 204 and the bib portion 206. In the embodiment shown in fig. 1-4, the lower side opening 202 is formed only in the pants portion 204.
In the illustrated embodiment, the pant portion 204 is shown as a full length pant. However, this is for illustration purposes only, and the pants portion 204 may include any type of lower body garment such that the suspender pants 200 described herein are capable of operating in accordance with the manners described herein. For example, in some embodiments, the pant portion 204 may be shorts, skirts, jerseys, seventies, tights, and/or any other type of lower body garment.
In the illustrated embodiment, the pants portion 204 includes a front 208, a back 210, a left leg portion 212L, a right leg portion 212R, a waist 216, a crotch region 220, and a pants fly 222. The left leg portion 212L and the right leg portion 212R are attached to each other by extending the inner seam 204 of the pant portion 204 from the front 208 portion of the waist 216 through the crotch region 220 to the rear 210 portion of the waist 216. The pants fly 222 extends from the front 208 portion of the waist 216 downwardly along the interior slit 224 through the center of the crotch region 220 to a location 226 near or above the low point 228 of the crotch region 220 (the low point 228 being the lowest point of the crotch region when the garment is worn or held upright).
In the illustrated embodiment, the pants fly 222 is a false pants fly that does not provide an opening. Because the suspender trousers 200 described herein are supported by the shoulder straps 274, the shape of the waist 216 and the trousers portion 204 does not hold the suspender trousers 200 on the wearer's body as in conventional trousers. That is, the waist 216 and non-suspender pants generally conform to the body of the wearer and retain the pants on the wearer throughout use. In addition, the conventional trousers further include a waist opening to facilitate putting on and taking off the trousers. Because the shoulder straps 274 of the suspender trousers 200 described herein are used to support the suspender trousers, the waist 216 and the trousers portion 204 need not be shaped to fit snugly to the wearer and the waist opening is not required to facilitate the wearing and removal of the suspender trousers 200. Thus, the embodiment shown in fig. 1-4 includes a false fly 222 configured to resemble a conventional fly in appearance and feel, but not have openings as a conventional fly.
The false pant fly 222 may be formed by sewing a pant fly cover 232 into the front 208 of the pant portion 204. In particular, the fly cover 232 may comprise a separate piece of fabric sewn into the interior seam 224 and include a fly stitch 234 that mimics a conventional fly stitch. In alternative embodiments, the pants fly 222 may not include a separate piece of fabric. In contrast, the false fly 222 may include only a fly stitch 234 sewn into the front 208 of the pants portion 204 that mimics the stitch of a conventional fly.
The lower opening 202 extends from a location 226 along a low point 228 of the crotch region 220 and extends rearwardly and upwardly along the rear portion 210 of the crotch region 220, ending at a center 230 of the rear portion 210 of the waist 216. The lower opening 202 includes an outer cover 236 and an inner cover 238, each of which reversibly covers a respective side of a closure mechanism (such as a zipper or button) for the lower opening 202. The outer cover 236 may be secured to the outside of the pants portion 204 on one or both sides (in which case the cover is separated downwardly from the middle), and is designed and configured to cover the corresponding closure mechanism to provide aesthetics and insulating characteristics when the closure mechanism is thermally conductive. The inner cover 238 may be secured to the inside of the pants 200 on one or both sides (in which case the cover is separated downwardly from the middle) and is designed and configured to cover the corresponding closure mechanisms to provide an insulating (and protective) barrier between the closure mechanisms and the user. The covers 236 and 238 may include a slight curvature that generally follows the slight curvature of the material forming the crotch region 220 of the pant portion 204 to help reduce the feeling of wrinkling when worn.
In the illustrated embodiment, the closure mechanism includes a zipper 240 that includes a zipper track 242 and a zipper slider 243. The zipper track 242 extends from the location 226 along the low point 228 of the crotch region 220 and extends rearwardly and upwardly along the rear portion 210 of the crotch region 220, ending at the center 230 of the rear portion 210 of the waist 216. The zipper track 242 is covered by the outer cover 236 and the inner cover 238. The first end 244 of the zipper track 242, the first end 246 of the outer cover 236, and the first end 248 of the inner cover 238 are sewn into the front 208 of the pants portion 204 at location 226. The second end 250 of the zipper track 242, the second end 252 of the outer cover 236, and the second end 254 of the inner cover 238 are sewn into the edge 256 of the rear portion 210 of the waist 216. In alternative embodiments, the zipper track 242, the outer cover 236, and the inner cover 238 may begin and terminate at any location within the pants portion 204. Zipper pull 243 is located between location 226 and waist 216 and is configured to be pulled to enable a wearer to reversibly open and close underside opening 202.
In the illustrated embodiment, zipper 240 comprises a standard coil, molded plastic, and/or metal zipper. Standard coil, molded plastic, and/or metal zippers are typically visible to others if not covered by the outer cover 236. In alternative embodiments, zipper 240 may comprise a concealed zipper, and may also comprise a zipper garage. The teeth of the concealed slide fastener are typically sewn into the fastener tape such that the teeth are not visible to others. However, the zipper pull of the invisible zipper is still visible. Zipper 240 may also include a zipper garage to conceal the zipper pull of the concealed zipper when not in use. In particular, the zipper garage may include a forming fabric sewn to one end of the concealed zipper, the forming fabric having an opening oriented toward the concealed zipper, the opening configured to receive a zipper pull. The zipper garage stores the zipper sliders in pockets formed by the zipper garage and the pants portions 204.
In alternative embodiments, the pant portion 204 may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238. Instead, zipper 240 may be exposed and visible to others. Further, the zipper 240 may be a concealed zipper as discussed above, and the pants portion 204 may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238. The concealed slide fastener may be exposed, but still be invisible to others due to the construction of the concealed slide fastener.
The location 226 is located at a lower end 258 of the pants fly 222, and an upper end 260 of the pants fly 222 is located at an edge 262 of the front 208 of the waist 216. The fly length 264 of the fly 212 corresponds to the length of a standard fly of the waist of a conventional pant. Further, the pant fly length 264 is generally configured such that a wearer can easily take off the pant when the pant fly is pulled down. This generally means that the lower end 258 of the fly 222 is positioned in substantial alignment with the lower portion of the pubic bone (pubic bone). Thus, in the illustrated embodiment, the location 226 (or the starting point of the lower opening 202, zipper track 242, outer cover 236, and inner cover 238) is positioned to be substantially aligned with the lower portion of the pubic bone (pubic bone) when the wearer wears the suspender trousers 200. Further, the location 226 may be positioned such that the location 226 is proximate to the location of the underwire in the feminine undergarment (not shown) when the wearer wears the suspender trousers 200 and the feminine undergarment.
More specifically, in the illustrated embodiment, the pant fly length 264 is from about 4 inches to about 8 inches, from about 5.25 inches to about 7.25 inches, or from about 6 inches to about 7 inches. In addition, the location length 266 of the location 226 corresponds substantially to the fly length 264. Specifically, in the illustrated embodiment, the location length 266 is about 4 inches to about 8 inches, about 5.25 inches to about 7.25 inches, or about 6 inches to about 7 inches. Finally, the lower opening length 268 of the lower opening 202 extends from the location 226 to the center 230 of the rear portion 210 of the waist 216. In the illustrated embodiment, the underside opening length 268 is about 6 inches to about 20 inches, about 8 inches to about 18 inches, or about 10 inches to about 14 inches. The zipper track 242, the outer cover 236, and the inner cover 238 all have lengths that substantially correspond to or equal to the lower opening length 268.
Bib portion 206 includes a front bib 270, a rear bib 272, and at least one shoulder strap 274. In the illustrated embodiment, bib portion 206 includes two shoulder straps 274. In alternative embodiments, bib portion 206 can include any number of shoulder straps 274, such that suspender trousers 200 can operate in accordance with the manner described herein. For example, bib portion 206 can include one, two, three, or more shoulder straps 274. The length of the shoulder straps 274 can be adjusted to accommodate wearers of different sizes.
In alternative embodiments, the suspender trousers 200 may not include shoulder straps 274. Conversely, the brace pant 200 may include shoulder portions and/or sleeves shown in the coveralls 800 shown in fig. 19. The shoulder portions and/or sleeves act the same as shoulder straps 274 to retain the suspender trousers 200 on the wearer.
In the illustrated embodiment, the front bib 270 is attached to the front 208 of the waist 216 and extends upwardly along the front of the wearer's torso. The bib 270 includes at least one bib attachment point 276 that enables the wearer to selectively and reversibly attach shoulder straps 274 to the bib 270 to support and maintain the position of the suspender trousers 200 on the wearer. The number of bib attachment points 276 corresponds to the number of shoulder straps 274 included in bib portion 206. In the illustrated embodiment, bib portion 206 includes two shoulder straps 274 and front bib 270 includes two bib attachment points 276. Shoulder straps 274 each include a shoulder strap attachment point 278 configured to attach shoulder strap 274 to bib attachment point 276. In the illustrated embodiment, bib attachment points 276 include clips and shoulder strap attachment points 278 include corresponding clips. In an alternative embodiment, bib attachment point 276 and shoulder strap attachment point 278 are part of an integral button snap attachment mechanism, wherein shoulder strap attachment point 278 comprises a shaped metal loop and bib attachment point 276 comprises a button. The shaped metal ring is configured to hook a button. In alternative embodiments, bib attachment point 276 and shoulder strap attachment point 278 may be any type of attachment mechanism to enable the suspender trousers 200 described herein to operate in accordance with the manner described herein.
In the illustrated embodiment, the back bib 272 is attached to the rear portion 210 of the waist 216 and extends upwardly along the rear of the wearer's torso. Shoulder strap 274 is attached to back bib 272 at a location such that shoulder strap 274 can extend over the wearer's shoulder and to bib attachment point 276. In alternative embodiments, bib portion 206 may not include a rear bib 272. Instead, the shoulder straps 274 may be attached directly to the rear portion 210 of the waist 216 and extend upward along the rear of the wearer's torso.
The wearer wears suspender trousers 200 by removing shoulder strap attachment points 278 from bib attachment points 276. The wearer also ensures that the underside opening 202 is closed by pulling the zipper pull 243 until the zipper 240 is closed. The wearer then steps into bib portion 206 and pant portion 204 such that their right legs slide into right leg portion 212R of pant portion 204 and their left legs slide into left leg portion 212L of pant portion 204. The wearer then positions the shoulder straps over their shoulders and attaches shoulder strap attachment points 278 to bib attachment points 276. When the wearer desires to urinate or defecation, the wearer opens the underside opening 202 by pulling the zipper pull 243 until the zipper 240 is opened. The wearer then suitably repositions any other clothing that they may wear (such as underwear) and continues to urinate or defecation without taking off their suspender pants 200 and without exposing themselves too much to the environment or vision of others.
Fig. 13 is a flow chart of a method 300 of manufacturing the suspender trousers 200. Method 300 includes a step 302 of attaching bib portion 206 to waist 216. The method 300 further includes a step 304 of attaching the left leg portion 212L to the waist 216. The method 300 further includes the step 306 of attaching the right leg portion 212R to the waist 216. The method 300 further includes a step 308 of attaching the zipper 240, the outer cover 236, and the inner cover 238 to the right leg portion 212R or the left leg portion 212L. The method 300 further includes a step 310 of attaching the right leg portion 212R or the left leg portion 212L to the zipper 240, the outer cover 236, and the inner cover 238. The zipper 240, the outer cover 236, and the inner cover 238 define a lower opening 202 that extends from a lower end 258 of the pants fly 222 to the center 230 of the rear portion 210 of the waist 216.
Fig. 14 shows a front view of an alternative embodiment of suspender trousers 400. Fig. 15 shows a rear view of the suspender trousers 400 shown in fig. 14. Suspender trousers 400 comprise a first zipper 402 that is pulled from a neckline 404 of neckline 270 to waist 216 and then sewn to waist 216. The suspender trousers 400 further comprise a second zipper 406 on the same zipper strip, which extends from the waist 216 to the rear portion 210 of the waist 216 of the trousers portion 204. That is, the fastener strips of the zippers 402 and 406 extend continuously from the collar 404 to the rear portion 210 of the waist 216, and the waist 216 is sewn to the fastener strips to form the first and second zippers 402 and 406 separated by the waist 216. In some embodiments, the zippers 402 and 406 may be stealth zippers, and may each include a zipper garage as discussed above. Further, in some embodiments, the suspender trousers may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238 as discussed above. Instead, the zippers 402 and 406 may be exposed or may be invisible zippers. The first zipper 402 comprises a first zipper pull (not shown) and the second zipper 406 comprises a second zipper pull (not shown). In the illustrated embodiment, the first zipper 402 is pulled in a first direction, the second zipper 406 is pulled in a second direction, and the first direction is the same as the second direction. In alternative embodiments, the first direction is different or opposite to the second direction. Further, the first zipper 402 includes an inner cover and an outer cover substantially similar to the inner cover 238 and the outer cover 236 described herein. Each zipper puller can be hidden in a zipper garage.
In the alternative embodiment of fig. 14 and 15, the first zipper 402 and the second zipper 406 are separated by a fabric sewn to the continuous zipper strip at the waist 216. The fabric covers both the waist 216 and the continuous zipper strip. In another alternative embodiment of fig. 14 and 15, the first zipper 402 and the second zipper 406 may be separate zipper strips. The first zipper 402 is formed from a first zipper strip that extends from the neck opening 404 to the waist 216 and the second zipper 406 is formed from a second zipper strip that extends from the front of the waist 216 to the rear of the waist 216. The waist 216 separates the two zipper strips. In some embodiments, the zippers 402 and 406 may be invisible zippers and may each include a zipper garage.
In some embodiments, the first zipper 402 and the second zipper 406 are separated from each other by at least one blocking member 168 described above. More specifically, the zipper tracks of the first and second zippers 402, 406 are traversed by a pair of blocking members 268 (outer blocking member 168A and inner blocking member 168B) that block the passage of the first and second zipper sliders. In this way, the first zipper 402 can be opened and closed using the first zipper pull, and the second zipper 406 can be opened and closed using the second zipper pull, effectively providing two closure mechanisms with only a single zipper track sewn to the suspender trousers 400. The blocking member 268 may be formed of any suitable material, including the same material as the suspender trousers 400, and sewn or otherwise secured to the suspender trousers 400 on both sides across the zipper track. The outer stop member 168A is secured to the outside of the suspender trousers 400 across the zipper track, while the inner stop member 168B is secured to the inside of the suspender trousers 400 across the zipper track at a position directly opposite the location of the outer stop member 168A on the outside. The blocking member 268 may be formed of the same material and/or abut the cover, in particular the outer blocking member 168A may abut the outer cover and the inner blocking member 168B may abut the inner cover, except that under common use conditions the cover may be repositioned or opened to expose or allow access to the zipper track without the wearer being able to reposition the blocking member 268 in this manner.
Fig. 16 shows a front view of an alternative embodiment of suspender trousers 500. Suspender trousers 500 comprise a single zipper 502 extending from a collar 504 to the rear of waist 216 and having no sewn sections on the front of waist 216. The zipper 502 may be a two-way zipper. Alternatively, the zipper 502 may be two zippers that are pulled apart in the same direction or in opposite directions from the center of the zipper. Suspender trousers 500 may include buttons/snaps that secure outer cover 506 at waist 216 such that cover 506 remains in place. The zipper 502 may be a concealed zipper in which a zipper garage (not shown) is concealed within a neckline zipper garage.
Fig. 17 shows an alternative embodiment of a pair of suspender trousers 600 comprising a zipper fly 602 in a conventional position of the fly. Suspender trousers 600 are substantially similar to suspender trousers 200 except that the false trouser fly 222 of suspender trousers 200 is replaced with a zipper trouser fly 602 of suspender trousers 600. The same zipper track 242 of the suspender trousers 200 continues and extends upwardly from the location 226 to the front of the waist 216. The zipper pant fly 602 may be authentic or purely decorative. The zipper may be a concealed zipper. The zipper pant fly 602 may also include inner and outer covers substantially similar to the inner and outer covers 236, 238 of the suspender pants 200 covering the zipper, and which may be sewn to the zipper to separate the zipper track of the zipper pant fly 602 from the zipper track 242 of the underside opening 202 of the suspender pants 200. Alternatively, the zipper track of the zipper pant fly 602 and the zipper track 242 of the lower side opening 202 may be two separate zippers. The zipper pant fly 602 includes a first zipper pull and the lower opening 202 includes a zipper pull 244. In the illustrated embodiment, the first zipper pull is pulled in a first direction, the zipper pull 244 is pulled in a second direction, and the first direction is the same as the second direction. In alternative embodiments, the first direction is different or opposite to the second direction. In some embodiments, the zippers 240 and 602 may be stealth zippers and may each include a zipper garage as discussed above. Further, in some embodiments, the suspender trousers may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238 as discussed above. Instead, zippers 240 and 602 may be exposed or may be invisible zippers.
In some embodiments, the zipper track of the zipper pant fly 602 and the zipper track 242 of the lower side opening 202 are separated from each other by at least one blocking member 168 described above. More specifically, the zipper track of zipper pant fly 602 and the zipper track 242 of lower opening 202 are traversed by a pair of blocking members 268 (outer blocking member 168A and inner blocking member 168B) that block the passage of first zipper pull and zipper pull 244. In this way, the zipper pant fly 602 may be opened and closed using the first zipper pull, and the underside opening 202 may be opened and closed using the zipper pull 244, effectively providing two closure mechanisms with only a single zipper track sewn to the suspender trousers 600. The blocking member 268 may be formed of any suitable material, including the same material as the suspender trousers 600, and sewn or otherwise secured to the suspender trousers 600 on both sides across the zipper track. The outer stop member 168A is secured across the zipper track on the outside of the suspender trousers 600 and the inner stop member 168B is secured across the zipper track at a location on the inside of the suspender trousers 600 that is directly opposite the location of the outer stop member 168A on the outside. The blocking member 268 may be formed of the same material and/or abut the cover, in particular the outer blocking member 168A may abut the outer cover and the inner blocking member 168B may abut the inner cover, except that under common use conditions the cover may be repositioned or opened to expose or enable access to the zipper track without the wearer being able to reposition the blocking member 268 in this manner.
Fig. 18 shows an alternative embodiment of the suspender trousers 700 comprising one continuous zipper 702 extending around the crotch region 220 from the front of the waist 216 to the rear of the waist 216. The zipper 702 may have one or two zipper pulls that pull in opposite directions or pull in the same direction. In some embodiments, the zipper 702 may be a concealed zipper and may include a zipper garage as discussed above. Further, in some embodiments, the suspender trousers may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238 as discussed above. Instead, the zipper 702 may be exposed or may be a concealed zipper.
Fig. 19 shows a front view of an alternative embodiment of a coverall 800. Fig. 20 shows a rear view of the coveralls 800. The coveralls 800 include a single zipper 802 that extends from a collar 804 to the rear of the waist 216, with no sewn sections on the front of the waist 216. The zipper 802 may be a two-way zipper. Alternatively, the zipper 802 may be two zippers that are pulled apart in the same direction or in opposite directions from the center of the zipper. The coveralls 800 may include buttons/snaps that secure the outer cover 806 at the waist 216 such that the cover 806 remains in place. In some embodiments, the zipper 802 may be a concealed zipper and may include a zipper garage as discussed above. Further, in some embodiments, the suspender trousers may not include the outer cover 236 or the inner cover 238 as discussed above. Instead, the zipper 802 may be exposed or may be a concealed zipper.
Embodiments described herein may include any configuration of zippers that enable a pair of suspender pants or coveralls to operate in accordance with the manner described herein. For example, a pair of suspender trousers or coveralls may include a zipper having a slider at the front and a slider (bi-directional slider) at the rear. In addition, the suspender trousers or coveralls may include a zipper that includes a slider that is tucked into the rear shoulder seam. In addition, the suspender trousers or coveralls may include a waterproof zipper treated by the seam tape. In another embodiment, the suspender trousers or coveralls may include a zipper that includes a double-headed slider for internal access. In yet another embodiment, as shown in fig. 21, a pair of suspender trousers or coveralls may include a zipper comprising a continuous zipper with a keyhole separator 902.
In addition, the suspender trousers or coveralls may include a zipper that includes an internal closure device that may be mated with the zipper. For example, a small tab/button/clasp may be added to the interior of the garment, which may act as a secondary closure device, or it may help hold the garment together for easier zipper-up. In particular, if the fabric has a large elasticity and it is difficult to hold the two sides together and simultaneously zip up, the internal closure means may assist in closing the garment. The inner closure device may also relieve part of the pressure on the zipper and reduce the risk of breakage.
Further, a reinforcement may be added to the outer zipper cover. Instead of just folding the fabric, the interior of the zipper cover may also have webbing to help maintain the shape and not expose the zipper strips. Furthermore, the zipper cover may be adhesive.
The embodiments described herein are not limited to suspender trousers or coveralls. Rather, the embodiments described herein may be incorporated into other garments having a similar structure to suspender pants (pants attached to the top of a bib and including shoulder straps for holding the garment).
