本发明涉及新型颜料分散液组合物和着色剂调配物两者,其中前者用来制造后者并且后者用于系统中以允许在零售点为产品的最终使用者制备具有所需颜色和光泽的涂料调配物的加压容器。具体来说,本发明的颜料分散液调配物并有脂肪酸掺合物以便分散液与填充机分配器和与最初存在于预装填加压喷雾容器中的基础涂料调配物相容。
在涂料和其它保护性涂层领域中最重要的发展之一是引入和发展了气溶胶化涂层,其最常被称为“喷射涂料”。零售店具有一个货架又一个货架的这些具有完整涂料和涂层调配物的预填充加压容器,其呈每一种可以想象得到的颜色和光泽并且是“即用”的。这些完整的预包装的喷射涂料容器为消费者提供了购买少量涂料的便利方式,所述涂料在随时可用的喷雾容器中以便易于应用。令人遗憾的是,在终端使用者想好特定颜色或想要匹配特定现有颜色的情况下,喷射涂料的当前技术迫使终端使用者选择在大多数情况下并非所述使用者需要的确切颜色的涂料颜色。这是因为没有便利的方式允许消费者选择颜色并且在购买点制造那种确切颜色。实际上,使用者必须搜寻无数喷射涂料品牌,以期找到至少接近所需颜色的颜色。通常,这导致终端使用者从一家商店跑到另一家商店,搜寻这种匹配。常规喷射涂料产品的另一个缺点在于不能在销售点制备最终涂料颜色直接影响了零售商。因为常规喷射涂料只可以预选和预定颜色与光泽购自制造商,所以零售商被迫储备并且携带大量罐子的库存,以便供应大量颜色和光泽的成品。这进一步需要使用商店中过量的货架空间,从而限制了可以展示的其它产品的数量。
以上所提到的问题的一个便利解决方案应该是允许在出售时基于终端使用者对颜色和光泽的选择在销售点调配最终喷射涂料颜色的零售渠道。按这种方式,零售商需要储备和上架仅极有限数目的含有透明或中性基础涂料调配物的喷雾容器。那么,终端使用者可以选择完全匹配他或她的需要的最终涂料调配物。当然,一旦选定最终颜色,即会存在将最终涂料调配物注射到罐中的问题。在制造业背景下,常规使用大型非便携式涂料填充机将涂料调配物注射到预加压容器中。然而,在零售层面,这些机器不存在或极罕见。现有涂料填充机目前以大型台装机形式可用,其经气动操作将涂料等注射到预装填气溶胶罐中。这些机器的一些实例描述在美国专利第6,302,163号、第6,543,490号和第6,138,720号以及那两个专利中所引用的参考文献中。这些机器通常包括连接到活塞组合件的大型手动操作杆,所述活塞组合件从储集器中将涂料调配物气动注射穿过气溶胶阀并且进入罐中。类似地,美国专利第5,740,841号、第5,647,408号、第Des.361,581号、第4,938,260号和第5,535,790号各自描述可以将完整的“定制的”涂料调配物注射到加压罐中的各种锉机设计。其它较早颁予的美国专利第6,705,359号、第7,201,191号和第6,135,165号描述填充有基础涂料调配物的预加压容器,其中在销售点添加最终着色剂以最终完成最终涂料组合物,那些涂料系统遭受在销售点场所添加的着色剂调配物与填充机和/或含于预加压容器中的初始基础涂料调配物不相容的缺点。
本发明通过以颜料分散液为起始物质来解决以上所提到的在销售点中喷射涂料容器系统的缺点,所述颜料分散液产生与填充机和初始基础涂料调配物两者相容的成品着色剂调配物。这种新型的颜料分散液依赖于使用脂肪酸混合物,优选地在乳油木油脂中发现的那些脂肪酸混合物。
发明内容
本发明是针对一种新型的颜料分散液组合物和使用所述颜料分散液制造的所得着色剂调配物。特别地调配着色剂以便用于制备零售商店销售点气溶胶涂料产品的系统(即喷射涂料容器)。着色剂调配物必须与用于在销售点制备定制的喷射涂料容器的填充机和含于预加压容器中的起始基础涂料(颜色为白色或中性)两者相容。颜料分散液依赖于使用脂肪酸掺合物,例如通常在天然存在的乳油木油脂中发现的那些脂肪酸掺合物,就我所知其从未被并入到适用于制备喷射涂料,特别是水性涂料的颜料分散液中。
为了制备用于销售点喷射涂料系统的各种着色剂调配物,有必要借助于液体颜料分散液将颜料分散在液体载剂中。然后,每一种所得着色剂调配物可以单独或以组合形式使用,以获得在销售点时由终端使用者选择或匹配的最终喷射涂料颜色。
为了形成本发明的液体颜料分散液,有必要使用脂肪酸掺合物,特别是选自包含油酸、硬脂酸、亚麻油酸棕榈酸、次亚麻油酸和花生酸的群组的那些脂肪酸。虽然认为这些脂肪酸的精确比例不是本发明的关键,但是脂肪酸掺合物优选主要由硬脂酸和油酸组成。本人已发现,获得这种脂肪酸掺合物的便利方式是以乳油木油脂开始,乳油木油脂是一种天然成分,其为通过压碎和沸腾从非洲乳油木(也称为乳木果(Vitellaria paradoxa)、牛油果树(Butyrospermum parkii)、牛油果(B.paradoxa)、乳木果(vitellaria)或功夫乳油(karate))的籽中提取的略淡黄色或奶白色天然脂肪。乳木果由又薄又酸的营养丰富的果肉组成,所述果肉包围着从中提取乳油木油脂的相对较大的富油籽。虽然其在化妆品中普遍用作保湿霜和油膏,但是本人已发现其未用于喷射涂料调配物的颜料分散液或着色剂中。乳油木油脂是一种含有许多不可皂化组分(不能通过用碱处理完全转化成皂的物质)的复合脂肪。具体来说,乳油木油脂包含由五种主要的脂肪酸组成:油酸(40-60%);硬脂酸(20-50%);亚麻油酸(3-11%);棕榈酸(2-9%);次亚麻油酸(<1%);花生酸(<1%)。脂肪酸组合物中硬脂酸和油酸占主要地位,两者一起占脂肪酸的至少50重量%,优选85重量%到90重量%。这两种脂肪酸的相对比例产生乳油木油脂稠度差异。高硬脂酸含量给予乳油木油脂固体稠度,而油酸的百分比乳油木油脂视环境温度而定影响其有多软或多硬。乳油木油脂还含有高含量的UV-B吸收性三萜酯,包括肉桂酸、生育酚(维生素A)和植物甾醇。另外,其含有高百分比的不皂化物,如植物甾醇(菜油甾醇、豆甾醇、β-谷甾醇和α-菠菜甾醇)和三萜(肉桂酸酯、α-香树素和β-香树素、帕克醇(parkeol)、丁酰鲸鱼醇(butyrospermol)和羽扇醇),和烃,如西非牛油树烃(karitene)。
在整个物种分布范围内,硬脂酸和油酸在乳油木仁和油脂中的比例不同。乌干达(Ugandan)乳油木油脂的油酸含量一贯较高,并且在温暧的环境温度下是液体。乌干达乳油木油脂细分成液相和固相,并且是液体乳油木油的来源。西非乳油木油脂的脂肪酸比例比乌干达乳油木油脂更加多变;油酸含量在37重量%到55重量%范围内。在相对较少的当地种群中,可变性甚至可能较高;产生硬油脂的树可以紧挨着位于产生软油脂的树。从广泛区域收集果仁用于当地产量,故乳油木油脂稠度通过所述种群的平均脂肪酸概况确定。在西非内部,来自布基纳法索(Burkina Faso)的莫西(Mossi)高原区的乳油木油脂具有较高的平均硬脂酸含量,并且发现其比来自其它西非地区的乳油木油脂硬。
具体来说,本发明的着色剂调配物是一种用于在销售点场所注射到即用气溶胶涂料容器中的液体组合物,其包含脂肪酸掺合物、主要颜料和水。优选地,脂肪酸掺合物包含乳油木油脂。在另一实施例中,本发明的颜料分散液是一种用于制备用于在零售点场所使用的各种着色剂调配物的液体。颜料分散液以组合形式包含脂肪酸掺合物(优选地为乳油木油脂)、聚酰胺、羟丙基纤维素、乳化剂、长油植物性醇酸树脂;和水。优选地,乳化剂包含脱水山梨糖醇三油酸酯。

向终端使用者提供完整销售点喷射涂料产品的关键方面是提供含有初始涂料调配物(颜色为中性或白色)的预加压容器,所述初始涂料调配物最少包含涂料基础和推进剂两者,由此作为最后步骤,在使用者购买气溶胶化涂料之前即刻添加着色剂调配物。最后添加的着色剂必须与分配器设备(即涂料填充机)和含于预加压容器中的初始或基础涂料调配物两者相容。以前所知的着色剂不对水性销售点喷射涂料系统起作用存在若干原因,包括不当的流变概况、粘度在分配器中的预期温度下太高或太低或不稳定、随时间推移不稳定的颜色发展、放气不足、干燥着色剂的脆性或剥落回到罐中、分配孔中硬的干燥栓塞以及液相的分离和固相的沉降。
类似地,拒绝已知着色剂用于含于预加压容器中的水基初始涂料调配物的原因包括固化时程延迟;固化膜软化;由于与推进剂相关的不相容性或其它问题导致固化膜光泽下降;由于与基础涂料相关的不相容性或其它问题导致固化膜光泽下降;阻止调配令人满意的基础涂料的着色剂的不均匀化学性质;一些着色剂的耐候性、耐化学性和如硬度或柔性的物理性质受损;和可见光谱的图示不充分。
从制造商向零售商店提供含有初始涂料调配物的加压罐或容器。喷射涂料的最终使用者在出售之前即刻选择最终颜色和光泽程度,以便完成最终喷射涂料产品。通常,喷射涂料的最终颜色由终端使用者基于匹配由所述使用者先前购买的涂料的现有颜色或类型来选择,或通过从调色板,如色轮、涂料样本或涂料芯片选择所需颜色来选择。使用者还可选择或要求优选的光泽程度。关于可以选自调色板的每一种颜色,将存在可以用于获得所需颜色的着色剂调配物的相应预定配方。或者,使用者可能想要基于其将随身带去销售点的颜色样品来匹配现有颜色。这通过简单地将由使用者提供的已知颜色与色轮或涂料样本比较,或通过使用分光光度计或其它自动化系统来匹配颜色而实现。通常,此类自动化程序涉及提供一种用于分光计分析的已知颜色样品,借此确定确切的样品颜色并且报告给终端使用者或零售商店操作者或直接报告给计算机控制的填充机。以引用的方式完全并入本文中的美国专利第6,400,906号揭示了一种可适于获得本发明着色剂调配物的适合配方的涂料匹配工艺和设备。
使用所选颜色的预定配方,一种或一种以上着色剂调配物可以被用于注射到含于预加压容器中的基础涂料中,从而获得成品的正确颜色。使用本发明液体颜料分散液的着色剂调配物可以在销售点场所制备,或更便利地可以单次使用量或适用于可分配着色剂的储集器的预调配包装的着色剂形式供应给销售点场所。在一些情况下,配方要求通过分配设备将两种或两种以上着色剂调配物的混合物注射到预加压容器中。注射着色剂到预加压容器中可以直接依次注射到所述容器中或注射到混合器皿中,其中一旦所有所需着色剂和成分在所述器皿中,即以单一步骤将所有成分同时注射到所述容器中。配方可以基于着色剂和其它成分的体积量或称重量。无论以单次可注射量液体形式或以连续量的个别组分形式添加,填充机都将本发明的着色剂添加到加压容器,穿过填充开口进入加压容器,从而获得终端使用者所选择的所需最终颜色。另外,可以添加平整分散液以获得所需光泽程度。通常采用光泽计来测量光泽程度,优选地在约60度的角度下。添加平整分散液以将光泽程度改变到所需成品。
如所提到的,已出人意料地发现,在接着用于制备着色剂调配物的液体颜料分散液中包含脂肪酸掺合物(优选地呈乳油木油脂形式)消除了或实质上减少了已知着色剂在销售点喷射涂料系统中使用时遇到的问题。优选地,目前用于本发明的着色剂调配物中的乳油木油脂的量视所用主要颜料的特定类型和量而变化,但一般在约0.025重量%到约50重量%,优选约0.2重量%到约0.5重量%,并且更优选约0.35重量%到约0.45重量%的范围内。尤其优选的乳油木油脂是由嘉化学工业公司(Jarchem Industries,Inc.)制造和出售的Jarplex SB-WD。然而,如所提到的,本发明不限于使用特定乳油木油脂(天然的或人造的),而是针对两种或两种以上选自由油酸、硬脂酸、亚麻油酸棕榈酸、次亚麻油酸和花生酸组成的群组的脂肪酸的掺合物。
以本发明的液体颜料分散液开始,添加一种或一种以上颜料以获得所需着色剂调配物。颜料通常是一种着色材料,其通常是不溶解的细粉状粉末。其悬浮于水基或油基液体溶剂媒剂中,并且变成最终涂料调配物中的着色材料。通常,在涂料调配物中使用两种类型的颜料:根本的或主要的颜料和体质颜料。主要颜料是提供涂料的主要着色的颜料,无论是白色还是色光。体质颜料(也称为“增量剂”)是用于涂料颜料的填充剂。其并不像主要颜料那样进行遮盖,但对涂料的整体特征和性能,包括遮盖力、耐久性、耐擦洗性和保色性具有显著影响。体质颜料历来由粘土、二氧化硅、滑石、白垩和氧化锌(为了帮助预防发霉)制成,然而,近来已使用微球状陶瓷珠来代替传统增量剂。
用于本发明着色剂调配物中的主要颜料的实例包括(但不限于)二氧化钛、碳黑、酞菁、钼酸盐、喹吖啶酮、氧化铁和其它已知颜料。着色剂调配物中所包括的主要颜料的特定量对应于终端使用者最终所选择的许多可能的最终颜色。举例来说,如果选择最终所需颜色为ASA61灰色,那么对应于那种特定灰色的预定配方是50g白色(TiO2);2.5g黄色氧化物;1.95g黑色;和0.26g蓝色分散液。只要将所述重量比的这些颜色添加到容器中,考虑加压容器中初始点调配物的起始颜色,就将实现所需灰色。换句话说,如果所选择的初始涂料调配物含有白色基础,那么考虑到已经存在于初始涂料调配物中的TiO2必须调节所添加的TiO2色彩的量,以便不同色彩的以上重量比仍然保持不变。
除了脂肪酸掺合物之外,本人的颜料分散液使用水作为分散液中其它成分的主要液体载剂。其它成分包括乳化剂,如脱水山梨糖醇三油酸酯(C60H108O8),或者称为T-Sol85或Span85。所存在的乳化剂可在约0.025重量%到约50.0重量%的范围内,优选在约0.75重量%到约1.6重量%的范围内,并且更优选约1.1重量%到约1.5重量%。另外,可以在着色剂调配物中包括羟丙基纤维素以提供粘合和流变性质。优选的羟丙基纤维素是由亚什兰亚跨龙(Ashland Aqualon)制造和出售的Klucel L并且以介于约0.3重量%到约0.6重量%,并且更优选约0.4重量%到约0.5重量%的范围存在。
本发明着色剂调配物中的又一可能成分是用作粘合剂以改善着色剂调配物的分配性质的长油醇酸树脂。醇酸树脂是通过添加脂肪酸和其它组分而改性的聚酯。其衍生自多元醇和二羧酸或羧酸酐。包含脂肪酸赋予一种形成柔性涂层的趋势。
长油醇酸树脂具有高百分比的干性油含量,即衍生自多元不饱和脂肪酸的甘油三酯(通常衍生自作物和植物油,例如亚麻籽油),并且在空气中固化。用于醇酸树脂涂层的干性油的典型来源是向日葵油、红花油、胡桃油、大豆油、鱼油、玉米油和松油(纸浆和纸张制造的树脂质油副产物)。优选的长油醇酸树脂是由雷可德(Reichhold)制造和出售的Beckosol AQ-101并且以介于约8.5重量%到约15.25重量%,并且更优选约10.5重量%到约14.0重量%的范围存在。
也可以在本人的着色剂调配物中使用聚酰胺来提供粘合和流变性质。优选的聚酰胺是由金氏工业(King Industries)制造和出售的Disparlon AQ-607并且以介于约0.25重量%到约0.6重量%,并且更优选约0.35重量%到约0.5重量%的范围存在。
在不脱离所附权利要求书范围的本发明精神的情况下,还可以通过填充机将产品增强剂(如增稠剂、腐蚀抑制剂和流动调节剂)添加到初始涂料调配物中。全部混杂的涂料增强剂一般将构成小于约5重量%的总气溶胶罐内容物。这些增强剂优选在销售点添加本发明的着色剂调配物或其它添加剂之前,在制备含有初始涂料调配物的气溶胶化容器期间添加。使用增稠剂作为成分是因为其显著增加组合物的粘度,这防止了湿涂料膜在其喷雾于倾斜的或竖直的表面上时出现不合需要的“流动”。各种丙烯酸系乳液增稠剂可商购。一个实例是金氏的PUR60。可商购的腐蚀抑制剂的一个实例是AMP-95并且可商购的流动调节剂的实例是任何含氟表面活化剂。
本发明着色剂调配物的一个实例可包括以下成分:
1)去离子水,作为其它组分的载剂。
2)呈各种化学物质(各种供应商)形式的主要颜料,赋予特定的光谱或颜色属性。
3)呈Huberbrite1(胡贝尔(Huber))形式的硫酸钡通过改善主要颜料的遮盖力来降低成本或降低所需主要颜料的量。
4)呈Lactimon-WS(毕克化学(Byk-Chemie))形式的聚羧酸醇铵盐与聚硅氧烷共聚物的混合物帮助颜料粒子均匀分布。
5)呈水可稀释性乳油木油脂(嘉化学SB-WD)形式的脂肪酸掺合物充当软化剂帮助用水清洗干燥的溢出物。
6)呈Genapol UD079(科莱恩(Clariant))形式的乙氧基化十一烷醇帮助削减乳油木油脂的蜡状性质。
7)呈T-Sol85()以及Genapol UD079形式的脱水山梨糖醇三油酸酯使乳油木油脂分散和或乳化到其水载剂中。
8)呈Disparlon AQ-607(金氏工业)形式的聚酰胺触变胶赋予特定的流变性质。这是以包含以下各者的中间物形式供应的:
a)去离子水
b)Disparlon AQ-607
c)Tego901W(戈特斯密特-德固赛(Goldschmidt-Degussa)),一种改善成品涂料的应用性质的除气剂。
d)AMP-95(安格斯(Angus)),作为pH值调节并且在罐中防腐蚀
e)Nuosept95(国际特殊产品(International Specialty Products)),一种杀生物剂
9)呈Klucel L(亚什兰)形式的羟丙基纤维素用于阻止经过干燥的着色剂的收缩,减少或消除干裂的趋势。
10)在颜料分散阶段引入呈D-Foam-R C740(科莱恩)形式的有机硅酮消泡剂以阻止并入气泡。
11)在兑稀部分中使用呈D-Foam-R C330(科莱恩)形式的合成消泡剂以帮助释放剩余的截留空气。
12)当前呈Beckosol AQ-101(雷可德)形式的长油醇酸树脂乳液是一种非成膜粘合剂,在金属干燥剂存在下除外。
13)用呈AMP-95(安格斯)形式的胺调节产品的pH值帮助延长长油醇酸树脂的水溶性。

Claims (10)

a)脂肪酸掺合物;
b)主要颜料;和
c)水。
2.根据权利要求1所述的着色剂,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含选自由油酸、硬脂酸、亚麻油酸棕榈酸、次亚麻油酸和花生酸组成的群组的脂肪酸。
3.根据权利要求1所述的着色剂,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含至少50重量%硬脂酸和油酸。
4.根据权利要求1所述的着色剂,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含乳油木油脂。
5.根据权利要求1所述的着色剂,其进一步包含羟丙基纤维素。
6.一种颜料分散液,其用于制备用于在销售点场所注射到即用水性气溶胶涂料容器中的液体着色剂,所述颜料分散液以组合形式包含:
a)脂肪酸掺合物;
b)聚酰胺;
c)羟丙基纤维素;
d)乳化剂;
e)长油植物性醇酸树脂;和
f)水。
7.根据权利要求6所述的颜料分散液,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含选自由油酸、硬脂酸、亚麻油酸棕榈酸、次亚麻油酸和花生酸组成的群组的脂肪酸。
8.根据权利要求6所述的颜料分散液,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含至少50重量%硬脂酸和油酸。
9.根据权利要求6所述的颜料分散液,其中所述脂肪酸掺合物包含乳油木油脂。
10.根据权利要求6所述的颜料分散液,其中所述乳化剂包含脱水山梨糖醇三油酸酯。
