Abstract
The invention is applicable to the field of communication, and provides a method and a system for displaying candidate words. The method comprises the following steps: receiving an instruction of inputting a contact; calculating the communication frequency with the contact according to the communication record; sorting the contacts from high to low according to the frequency of communication with the contacts; and displaying the contact list which is ranked from high to low as a candidate word for the user to select and input. The method and the device enable the candidate words to better meet the requirements of the user, and improve the operation efficiency of the user.

Background
In the interface of an application program related to a contact, when the contact needs to be input, the displayed candidate words are only some common words. For example, in a dialing interface, when a contact is required to be input as a called party, or in a newly-created information interface, when the contact is required to be input as a receiving party, the displayed candidate words are some common words which are irrelevant to the contact, such as i, you, he, good, yes, that and the like, and the ordering is fixed.
