Abstract

Background technique

Many vehicles such as coaches, tour buses and campers are equipped with television or computer monitors for entertainment. Typically, owners install these displays long after the vehicle has been delivered. Therefore, OEMs have no control over these types of installations.

Television or computer monitors come in many different sizes. A flat panel TV monitor weighs in the range of 2-8 kg. Usually, the installation is carried out with a wall-mounted holder suitable for household appliances. Even if the display holder is of strong construction, the attachment of the display to the holder may not be strong enough. The interface between the cage bracket and the display typically includes several screws that attach to the plastic display frame. Obviously, in the event of heavy braking or a crash, the display can come loose, potentially causing serious damage.

Contents of the invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a display holder, which is suitable for different display specifications, and which can provide a safer interface connection between the holder bracket and the display. With an improved display holder according to claim 1, this object is achieved and the above-mentioned problems are solved.

Detailed ways

The monitor holder 10 shown in Figures 1 to 3 is suitable for mounting a flat-screen television or computer monitor in a vehicle, such as a truck, bus, camper, airplane or marine vessel.

The cage in the disclosed embodiment comprises a base plate 11 having three bolt holes 11a for bolts 12 (see FIG. 3 ) for attachment to a vehicle frame (not shown in the drawings). ). However, any type of chassis 11 suitable for applying the holder 10 of the display 13 (shown schematically in dashed lines in FIG. 1 ) to a particular vehicle may be used for mounting. The bracket 14 is secured to the base plate by suitable means such as bracket clasps 15 . The interface connection of the bracket to the base plate can also be designed so that the angle of the display can be adjusted.

The carriage 14 is provided with four metal straps 16 each comprising two strap portions 17 , 18 interconnected in a continuously adjustable manner by means of a worm gear clamp 19 . The first belt portion 17 of each belt 16 is provided with a worm gear 19 . The first belt portion 17 forms a loop around the extrusion loop portion 20 of the carrier 14 . Accordingly, the strap 16 is pivotally connected to the bracket 14 to accommodate different display formats. A further application can be provided by adjusting the length of the belts by means of a worm gear connection between the two belt parts 17,18. Any suitable type of tensioning device, such as a turnbuckle, may be used in place of the worm gear clamping device 19 shown in this embodiment of the invention.

The outer end of each strap 16 opposite the bracket 14 is provided with a loop 21 intended to surround one corner edge of the display 13 . The ring 21 is rigid and made of metallic material, such as a metal bar. Rigid ring 21 is at an angle to the flat plane and is pivotally connected to strap portion 18 to provide angular adjustability relative to the plane of the display, thereby allowing the depth of the display to be varied. As shown in FIG. 5 , the second belt portion 18 is provided with ribs 18 a for cooperating with a worm gear grip 19 .

When installing the monitor holder 10 into a vehicle, first, mount the base plate 11 without the bracket 14 at pre-arranged fixing points in the vehicle frame, and then position the bracket 14 on the monitor with four screws. center the back and position individual hook loops 21 at each corner of the display.
