System and method for realizing file sharing by using point-to-point technology
Technical Field
The present invention relates to file sharing technology in communication networks, and more particularly, to a system and method for implementing file sharing using peer-to-peer (P2P) technology.
Background
With the development of Java and other World Wide WEB (WEB) application technologies, more and more services are developed based on WEB technologies, and the related range is wider and wider, wherein there is a multimedia conference system.
In a multimedia conference system, people often need to share some files, in the existing sharing mode, a publisher generally uploads the files to be shared to a server directly, then a link for downloading the shared files is notified to other conference members, the other conference members directly click the link on a WEB page for downloading, and the downloading is directly downloaded from the server.
Although the current method for downloading the shared file is simple to implement, there are many defects:
firstly, a centralized distribution mode is adopted, so that the bandwidth of the server can be greatly occupied, and the pressure of the server is greatly increased;
secondly, the server bears a great deal of conference service functions, the response speed of the shared file is necessarily slow, and the file downloading speed of other conference members is slow under most conditions;
when the server is busy, other conference members cannot download files instantly, and the effect of the multimedia conference is directly influenced;
and fourthly, when a large amount of files are shared in the multimedia conference, the server may occupy the whole bandwidth of the server, so that the server cannot perform normal conference service, and the whole multimedia conference system cannot provide multimedia conference service for users.
