技术领域
本发明涉及一种淀粉基涂料组合物。更具体说,本发明涉及一种利用自然物衍生并可生物降解的淀粉的淀粉基涂料组合物,其作为单组分型涂料表现出极佳的储存稳定性,并能够形成在成品外观、硬度、附着力、耐化学性以及耐碱性方面具有优越性的涂料膜,以及用该淀粉基涂料组合物涂覆的涂件。
背景技术
近年来,从通过减少废物处理和降低CO2排放而减少对地球环境的影响的立场出发,积极应用自然物衍生、可生物降解的低环境负荷型原材料的需求在增加。
自然物衍生的典型材料包括改性淀粉,例如已惯用于食品和造纸工业的多聚糖淀粉(polysaccharide starch)或乙酰化淀粉(acetylated starch),但是,最近这种淀粉已经用作可生物降解的塑料材料以产品的形式用于广泛的领域,包括食品容器、包装材料、缓冲材料板、农用薄膜、一次性尿布等等。
淀粉通过化学修饰以各种方式改性和改良,用作工业生产的原料。淀粉的基本结构是由α-D-葡萄糖通过1,4-键以线状连接而组成的直链淀粉,结构中的修饰,例如利用羟基酯化和醚化,从二十世纪六十年代就已经开始了。
已经有人提出氨基甲酸酯改性淀粉(urethanated starch),其通过与异氰酸酯化合物反应使淀粉或改性淀粉的至少某些羟基被氨基甲酸酯化(公开号为5-43649的未审查的日本专利申请)。
也已经有人提出了通过多异氰酸酯与含有至少一种从淀粉或改性淀粉、蜜糖、多糖类农业废弃物及含羟基的改性植物油中选出的植物组分的有机溶剂溶液进行反应,生产可生物降解聚氨酯(polyurethane)的工艺(公开号为5-186556的未审查的日本专利申请)。
类似地,也有人提出了用多异氰酸酯使淀粉与含羟基丙烯酸树脂结合(公开号为6-65349的未审查的日本专利申请)。
这包括将“淀粉树脂”和丙烯酸树脂经多异氰酸酯间接接枝,但是有多篇报道公开了通过不饱和单体与淀粉或改性淀粉表面接枝聚合而获得接枝淀粉的直接生产方法(J.C.Arthur,Jr.;Advan.Macromol.Chem.;“GraftPolymerization onto Polysaccharide”2:1-87(1970)(J·C·亚瑟,Jr.;高级高分子化学;“多糖的接枝聚合”2:1-87(1970)),3425971号美国专利,3981100号美国专利,公开号为54-120698的未审查的日本专利申请,公开号为55-90518的未审查的日本专利申请,公开号为56-167746的未审查的日本专利申请,公开号为8-239402的未审查的日本专利申请)。
作为淀粉与其它可生物降解树脂化合的实例,使用不同的包含淀粉或具纤维素衍生物的改性淀粉的共混聚合物作为成型材料的发明也已经公开(公开号为6-207047的未审查的日本专利申请,公开号为8-231762的未审查的日本专利申请)。
这些在先专利清楚地说明,通过化合、键合或接枝不同聚合物得到的淀粉基树脂已经众所周知。然而,所有这些技术将淀粉基树脂的用途设定为用于结构材料、注射成型材料、板材等等,而没有作为涂料使用的公开。
为了使用淀粉基树脂进行涂覆,已有人公开了反应固化涂料的应用,该涂料为固化剂淀粉组合物,其包含淀粉基树脂和固化剂的混合物,其中该固化剂具有与淀粉中的至少一个羟基补充反应的官能团(公开号为2004-224887的未审查的日本专利申请)。
还有人公开了一种具有平均粒径不大于1000nm粒子的水分散树脂,其包含作为组成成分的聚合物(A)改性淀粉和(B)可聚合的不饱和单体,以及含有树脂的水分散涂料组合物作为反应固化涂料的用途(公开号为2006-52338的未审查的日本专利申请)。
然而,该公知技术的淀粉基涂料技术关注于反应固化涂料,而显示极佳的储存稳定性以及能够形成具有出众的成品外观、硬度、附着力、耐冲击、耐溶剂性、耐碱性以及耐化学性的涂料膜的单组分漆型淀粉基涂料尚未开发出来。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是提供一种利用自然物衍生并可生物降解的淀粉的淀粉基涂料组合物,其作为单组分型涂料表现出极佳的储存稳定性,并能够形成在成品外观、硬度、附着力、耐化学性以及耐碱性方面具有优越性的涂料膜,以及用该淀粉基涂料组合物涂覆的涂件。
作为不断努力研究解决上述公知技术问题的结果,本发明申请人发现这些问题可以通过使用具有特定组分的淀粉基树脂组合物解决,基于该发现完成了本发明。
具体说,本发明提供下列各项:
1.一种淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于作为粘合剂使用树脂(A),其通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合而键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上得到。
2.一种淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于,作为粘合剂使用树脂(C),其通过含异氰酸基产物(B)与树脂(A)的加成反应制备,其中该树脂通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合而键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上得到,该含异氰酸基产物通过多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)反应得到。
3.根据以上1或2所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于还包含可生物降解的树脂。
4.根据以上1至3任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于还包含蜡。
5.用根据以上1至4任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物涂覆的涂覆件。
本发明的淀粉基涂料组合物具有极佳的储存稳定性,并能形成在成品外观、硬度、附着力以及耐碱性方面具有优越性的涂料膜。该淀粉基涂料组合物为单组分型,所以具有极佳的可管理性(不用担心其适用期(potlife)),并且因为其应用自然物衍生、可生物降解的材料,所以产品生命周期中的总CO2排放最小,并且可以减少环境污染。
具体实施方式
现对本发明较佳实施方式进行详细说明,应该理解,本发明不仅仅限于这些方式,可以实施各种本发明精神和范围之内的修改。
通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合键合至淀粉和/或改性淀粉而得到的树
脂(A)
淀粉和/或改性淀粉
作为对本发明有用的淀粉的实例,可以列举出非改性地上茎淀粉例如玉米淀粉、高直链淀粉、小麦淀粉及大米淀粉,非改性地下茎淀粉例如马铃薯淀粉和木薯淀粉,以及这些淀粉的酯化、醚化、氧化、酸处理或糊精化淀粉取代衍生物。这些淀粉可以单独或多于一个结合使用。
对本发明有用的改性淀粉包括含有通过酯键和/或醚键键合至淀粉或淀粉分解产物上的饱和链烃基、不饱和链烃基、芳烃基及类似者的改性淀粉。上述淀粉分解产物可以是经过以酶、酸或氧化剂分子减重处理过的淀粉。
从成膜特性的角度来看,淀粉或淀粉分解产物较佳地具有1,000-2,000,000的数均分子量,更佳地为3,000-500,000,最佳地为5,000-200,000。
本说明书中,数均分子量为根据JIS K0124-83标准、使用TSKGEL4000HXL+G3000HXL+G2500HXL+G2000HXL(Tosoh公司产品)填装的分离柱、以凝胶渗透色谱法(GPC)用四氢呋喃作为洗脱剂在温度为40℃、流速为1.0ml/min的条件下测定,并从RI折光仪所得谱图与基于标准聚苯乙烯的标准曲线进行计算所得的值。
淀粉的改性方法可以是例如以较佳改性基团C2-18酰基进行酯化修饰。修饰可以通过单独使用一种或结合使用两种或更多种C2-18有机酸完成。
改性淀粉的修饰程度较佳地为取代度0.5-2.8的范围,更佳地为1.0-2.5范围。取代度小于0.5将会导致与下述基团聚合不饱和单体的相容性不足,与非改性淀粉类似,会因此而造成所形成的涂料膜成品外观较差。另一方面,取代度大于2.8会降低可生物降解性。
改性淀粉最好修饰至使其玻璃化转变温度低于淀粉分解温度(约为350℃)、并且其为热塑性及可生物降解的程度;因此,当用于修饰的取代分子具有高碳数时,最好修饰至低水平(例如,当取代分子为C18十八烷烃二元醇酯(C18 stearyl)时,酯取代度最好为0.1-1.8范围),当用于修饰的取代分子具有低碳数时,最好修饰至高水平(例如,当取代分子为C2醋酸(C2 acetyl)时,酯取代度最好为1.5-2.8范围)。
取代度为淀粉的每个单糖单位被改性剂取代的羟基的平均数。每个单糖单位具有三个羟基,举例来说,取代度为3表示淀粉的每个单糖单位上的全部三个羟基都被改性剂取代,取代度为1表示淀粉的每个单糖单位上的三个羟基中只有一个被改性剂取代。
作为改性淀粉的实例,可以列举出一种疏水性可生物降解的淀粉酯产品,其通过将具有50%或以上直链淀粉含量的无水淀粉和酯化剂在疏质子溶剂中混合,使得在淀粉和酯化剂之间发生反应而得到(见特表平8-502552号日本专利申请)。
可以提及的还有短链/长链混合的淀粉酯,其中同一淀粉分子上发生反应的羟基氢原子被C2-4的短链酰基和C6-18的长链酰基取代(见未经审查的公开号为2000-159801的日本专利申请),短链/长链混合的淀粉取代衍生物,其中同一淀粉分子上发生反应的羟基被C2-4短链含碳氢化合物的基团和C6-18长链含碳氢化合物的基团取代(见未经审查的公开号为2000-159802的日本专利申请)。因为这些改性淀粉以淀粉为基础,所以它们可生物降解,并且在溶剂中具有非常好的溶解性和相容性。
乙烯共聚物的接枝聚合
树脂(A)通过将乙烯聚合物接枝聚合至上述淀粉和/或改性淀粉制得。例如3425971号美国专利、3981100号美国专利及公开号为56-167746的未审查的日本专利申请公开了将乙烯单体接枝到水分散的或糊状的淀粉或改性淀粉上的接枝聚合,其利用铈盐作为引发自由基聚合引发催化剂。还有,公开号为54-120698和55-90518的未审查的日本专利申请公开了将苯乙烯和丙烯酸单体接枝到用顺丁烯二酸作为含不饱和基团的化合物改性的淀粉上的接枝聚合。公开号为8-239402的未审查的日本专利申请公开了在有机溶剂中将乙烯单体接枝到(乙烯)酯化的淀粉上的接枝聚合。此外,公开号为55-133472和56-157463的未审查的日本专利申请公开了在有机溶剂中使用自由基引发剂将乙烯基单体接枝到醋酸丁酸纤维素上的接枝聚合。如果以淀粉和/或改性淀粉代替醋酸丁酸纤维素,则可以很容易地将乙烯聚合物通过接枝聚合键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上。
对乙烯聚合物来说公知有多种类型的接枝聚合,树脂(A)就可以通过这些公知的方法制造。其还可以通过除了这些方法之外的其它方法制造。
通过接枝聚合键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上的乙烯聚合物通过基团聚合不饱和单体或其混合物,在淀粉和/或改性淀粉、有机溶剂和聚合引发剂的存在下,发生自由基聚合反应而得到。
对淀粉和/或改性淀粉相对于乙烯聚合物的比例无特别的限制,但最好使用具有不同特性的单体的混合物作为基团聚合不饱和单体,同时,从形成具有极佳成品外观、附着力、耐溶剂性、耐碱性、耐冲击性和耐弯折性的涂料膜的角度来说,基团聚合不饱和单体混合物(C)最好包含占单体混合物总质量1-90%质量、较佳为5-80%质量的芳香基单体,1-50%质量、较佳为2-40%质量的含羟基单体,以及0-98%质量、较佳为47-95%质量的其它单体。
作为芳香基单体的实例,可以列举出苯乙烯(styrene)、乙烯基甲苯(vinyltoluene)、2-甲基苯乙烯(2-methylstyrene)、叔丁基苯乙烯(tert-butylstyrene)、氯苯乙烯(chlorstyrene)、乙烯萘(vinylnaphthalene)等等。
作为含羟基单体,可以列举出丙烯酸C2-8羟烷基酯或甲基丙烯酸,例如丙烯酸2-羟乙酯(2-hydroxyethyl acrylate)、甲基丙烯酸2-羟乙酯(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)、丙烯酸羟丙酯(hydroxypropyl acrylate)、甲基丙烯酸羟丙酯(hydroxypropyl methacrylate)、丙烯酸4-羟丁酯(4-hydroxybutyl acrylate)、甲基丙烯酸4-羟丁酯(4-hydroxybutylmethacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸2-羟丙酯(2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate)及甲基丙烯酸3-羟丙酯(3-hydroxypropyl methacrylate),以及其它含羟基(甲基)丙烯酸酯化合物,例如Dicel化学工业公司的PLACCEL F系列(内脂化(甲基)丙烯酸酯)。
从改善与淀粉和/或改性淀粉或含异氰酸基化合物(B)的相容性,确保涂料稳定性的角度来看,最好是从含有丙烯酸2-羟乙酯、甲基丙烯酸2-羟乙酯、丙烯酸羟丙酯、甲基丙烯酸羟丙酯及丙烯酸4-羟丁酯的基团中选出的至少一种化合物。
作为其它单体,可以列举出含羧基单体,例如,(甲基)丙烯酸、顺丁烯二酸、丁烯酸(crotonic acid)、甲叉丁二酸(itaconic acid)和反丁烯二酸;丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸的C1-18烷基酯或环烷基酯,例如,丙烯酸甲酯(methyl acrylate)、丙烯酸乙酯(ethyl acrylate)、丙烯酸正丙酯(n-propylacrylate)、丙烯酸异丙酯(isopropyl acrylate)、n-丙烯酸、i-或t-丁基酯(n-acrylate,i-or t-butyl)、丙烯酸己酯(hexyl acrylate)、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯(2-ethylhexyl acrylate)、丙烯酸正辛酯(n-octyl acrylate)、丙烯酸癸酯(decyl acrylate)、丙烯酸月桂酸酯(lauryl acrylate)、丙烯酸环己酯(cyclohexyl acrylate)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯(methyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸乙酯(ethyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸正丙酯(n-propyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸异丙酯(isopropyl methacrylate)、n-甲基丙烯酸、i-或t-丁基酯(n-methacrylate,i-or t-butyl)、甲基丙烯酸己酯(hexyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸辛酯(octyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸癸酯(decyl methacrylate)、甲基丙烯酸月桂酸酯(lauryl methacrylate)及甲基丙烯酸环己酯(cyclohexylmethacrylate);以及N-取代丙烯酰胺类或N-取代甲基丙烯酰胺类单体,例如,N-羟甲基丙烯酰胺(N-methylolacrylamide)、N-丁氧基甲基丙烯酰胺(N-butoxymethylacrylamide)、N-甲氧基甲基丙烯酰胺(N-methoxymethylacrylamide)、N-羟甲基甲基丙烯酰胺(N-methylolmethacrylamide)、及N-丁氧基甲基甲基丙烯酰胺(N-butoxymethylmethacrylamide),可聚合的不饱和单体可以包括作为其一部分的脂肪酸修饰的可聚合不饱和单体。脂肪酸修饰的可聚合不饱和单体包括脂肪酸衍生烃链的末端具有可聚合不饱和基团的可聚合不饱和单体。作为脂肪酸修饰的可聚合不饱和单体的实例,可以列举出由脂肪酸与含环氧基的可聚合不饱和单体或含羟基的可聚合不饱和单体反应所得的单体。
作为脂肪酸,可以列举出干性油脂肪酸、半干性油脂肪酸和非干性油脂肪酸,其中干性油脂肪酸和半干性油脂肪酸的实例包括鱼油脂肪酸(fishoil fatty acids)、脱水蓖麻油脂肪酸(dehydrated castor oil fatty acids)、红花油脂肪酸(safflower oil fatty acids)、亚麻仁油脂肪酸(linseed oil fattyacids)、大豆油脂肪酸(soybean oil fatty acids)、芝麻油脂肪酸(sesame oilfatty acids)、罂粟油脂肪酸(poppy oil fatty acids)、紫苏油脂肪酸(perillaoil fatty acids)、火麻仁油脂肪酸(hempseed oil fatty acids)、葡萄籽油脂肪酸(grape seed oil fatty acids)、玉米油脂肪酸(corn oil fatty acids)、妥尔油脂肪酸(tall oil fatty acids)、葵花籽油脂肪酸(sunflower oil fatty acids)、棉籽油脂肪酸(cottonseed oil fatty acids)、胡桃油脂肪酸(walnut oil fattyacids)、橡胶树油脂肪酸(gum oil fatty acids)及含高二烯酸(high-dienoicacid)的脂肪酸,非干性油脂肪酸的实例包括椰油脂肪酸(coconut oil fattyacids)、氢化椰油脂肪酸(hydrogenated coconut oil fatty acids)及棕榈油脂肪酸(palm oil fatty acids)。这些可以单独使用或两种或更多种结合使用。这些脂肪酸还可以与己酸、癸酸、月桂酸、豆蔻酸、棕榈酸、硬脂酸之类结合使用。
可以与脂肪酸反应以生成脂肪酸修饰的可聚合不饱和单体的优选单体包括含环氧基的可聚合不饱和单体,作为实例可以列举出(甲基)丙烯酸缩水甘油(glycidyl(meth)acrylate)、(甲基)丙烯酸β-甲基缩水甘油(β-methylglycidyl(meth)acrylate)、3,4-环氧己基甲基(甲基)丙烯酸(3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl(meth)acrylate)、3,4-环氧己基乙基(甲基)丙烯酸(3,4-epoxycyclohexylethyl(meth)acrylate)、3,4-环氧己基丙基(甲基)丙烯酸(3,4-epoxycyclohexylpropyl(meth)acrylate)及烯丙基缩水甘油醚(allylglycidyl ether)。
乙烯单体的接枝聚合可以很容易地通过,例如,将上述基团聚合不饱和单体混合物和聚合引发剂逐滴加入淀粉和/或改性淀粉的有机溶剂中,发生自由基聚合反应而实现。可以将基团聚合不饱和单体混合物(C)和聚合引发剂的混合物逐滴均匀加入,并在例如在60-200℃、最好是80-180℃的反应温度下,反应约30分钟至6小时、最好是1-5小时。
所使用的聚合引发剂可以是公知的自由基聚合引发剂,但当采用通过向淀粉和/或改性淀粉的有机溶剂溶液中逐滴加入单体混合物和聚合引发剂的接枝聚合的方法时,最好使用过氧化物型引发剂。作为这种过氧化物型引发剂的例子,这里可以列举出氢过氧化物(hydroperoxides),例如叔丁基过氧化氢(t-butyl hydroperoxide)、过氧化氢对孟烷(p-methanehydroperoxide)、过氧化氢异丙苯(cumene hydroperoxide)和过氧化氢二异丙苯(diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide);过氧化酯(peroxy esters),例如过氧化叔丁基月桂酸酯(t-butylperoxy laurate)、过氧化叔丁基苯甲酸酯(t-butylperoxy benzoate)和过氧化叔丁基癸酸酯(t-butylperoxydecanoate);过氧缩酮(peroxyketals),例如1,5-二叔丁过氧化-3,3,5-三甲基环己烷(1,5-di-t-butylperoxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane);酮过氧化物(ketone peroxides),例如乙酰乙酸乙酯过氧化物(ethyl acetoacetateperoxide)以及二酰基过氧化物(diacyl peroxides),例如过氧化苯甲酰(benzoyl peroxide)。
使用的有机溶剂可以例如是碳氢化合物类溶剂,例如甲苯、二甲苯、环己烷或正己烷,酯类溶剂,例如醋酸甲酯、醋酸乙酯或醋酸丁酯,酮类溶剂,例如丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基异丁基酮或甲基戊基酮,或这些溶剂的混合物。
含异氰酸基产物(B)
含异氰酸基的化合物(B)可以通过多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)反应得到。
多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)最好是对人体高度安全的化合物,作为实例可以列举出,异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯(isophorone diisocyanate)、甲苯二异氰酸酯(tolylene diisocyanate)、二苯甲烷二异氰酸酯(diphenylmethanediisocyanate)、二甲基联苯二异氰酸酯(tolidine diisocyanate)、萘二异氰酸酯(naphthalene diisocyanate)、三苯甲烷三异氰酸酯(triphenylmethanetriisocyanate)、三(苯基异氰酸酯)硫代磷酸盐(tris(phenylisocyanate)thiophosphate)、苯二异氰酸酯(phenylene diisocyanate)、六亚甲基二异氰酸酯(hexamethylene diisocyanate)、三甲基己基二异氰酸酯(trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate)、赖氨酸二异氰酸酯(lysinediisocyanate)、苯二亚甲基二异氰酸酯(xylylene diisocyanate)、双(异氰酸甲基)环己烷(bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane)、双(异氰酸)甲基环己烷(bis(isocyanato)methylcyclohexane)、二异氰酸酯二环己基甲烷(dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate)、异亚丙基双(环己基异氰酸酯)isopropylidenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate)、3-(2’-环己基异氰酸酯)丙基异氰酸酯(3-(2’-isocyanatocyclohexyl)propyl isocyanate)、二甲氧基苯胺二异氰酸酯(dianisidine diisocyanate)以及二苯醚二异氰酸酯(diphenyl etherdiisocyanate)。其中,从硬度、附着力和耐冲击性的角度来看,较佳者为佛尔酮二异氰酸酯和六亚甲基二异氰酸酯。
作为多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)商业上可获得产品的实例,可以列举出BURNOCK D-750、D-800、DN-950、DN-970或15-455(日本油墨化学工业公司(Dainippon Ink and Chemicals,Inc.)产品名称),DESMODUR L、N、HL或N3390(德国拜耳公司(Bayer Ltd.)产品名称),TAKENATE D-102、TAKENATE D-170HN、TAKENATE D-202、TAKENATE D-110或TAKENATE D-123N(武田药品株式会社(Takeda Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.)产品名称),Coronate EH、L、HL或203(日本聚氨酯工业株式会社(NipponPolyurethane Industry Co.,Ltd.)产品名称)或DURANATE 24A-90CX(旭化成株式会社(Asahi Kasei Corp.)产品名称)。
作为多羟基醇(b2),可以特别列举出烷烃二元醇(b21)、三元或更高的烷烃三元醇(b22)、醚多元醇(b23)及聚酯多元醇(b24),以及其它多元醇。
作为烷烃二元醇(b21)的实例,可以提及的二醇例如有乙二醇(ethylene glycol)、丙二醇(propylene glycol)、1,3-丁二醇(1,3-butyleneglycol)、1,4-丁二醇(1,4-butanediol)、1,5-戊二醇(1,5-pentanediol)、1,6-己二醇(1,6-hexanediol)、环己-1,4-二甲醇(cyclohexane-1,4-dimethylol)、新戊二醇(neopentylglycol)、甲基戊二醇(methylpentanediol)、氢化双酚A(hydrogenated bisphenol A)等等。
作为三元或更高的烷烃多元醇(b22),可以列举出的三元醇可以例如是甘油(glycerol)、三羟甲基乙烷(trimethylolethane)和三羟甲基丙烷(trimethylolpropane)、以及例如季戊四醇(pentaerythritol)、α-甲基苷及山梨醇的三元或更高的烷烃多元醇。
作为醚多元醇(b23)的实例,可以列举出聚乙二醇(polyethyleneglycol)、聚丙二醇(polypropylene glycol)、聚丁二醇(polytetramethyleneglycol)、三甘醇(triethylene glycol)、聚(氧乙烯/氧丙烯)二醇(poly(oxyethylene/oxypropylene)glycol)、双酚A-聚乙二醇醚(bisphenolA-polyethyleneglycol ether)、双酚A-聚丙二醇醚(bisphenolA-polypropyleneglycol)、蔗糖(sucrose)及萜醇(hexols),例如二季戊四醇(dipentaerythritol),其通过烷撑氧(alkylene oxides)(例如乙撑氧、二乙二醇、环氧丙烷、二丙二醇、环氧丁烷及四氢呋喃等等)的开环加成反应生成的产物。
作为聚酯多元醇(b24)的实例,可以列举出通过有机二羧酸或其酐与有机二醇组分在有机二醇过量的条件下进行缩聚反应生成的多元醇。具体地说,提及的聚酯多元醇可以是脂肪酸与乙二醇的缩合产物或脂肪酸与新戊二醇的缩合产物。
在此情况下使用的有机二羧酸为C2-44,特别是C4-36脂肪、酯环或芳香二羧酸,作为实例,提及的可以是琥珀酸(succinic acid)、脂肪酸(adipicacid)、壬二酸(azelaic acid)、癸二酸(sebacic acid)、顺丁烯二酸(maleicacid)、反丁烯二酸(fumaric acid)、戊二酸(glutaric acid)、六氯庚烷二甲酸(hexachloroheptanedicarboxylic acid)、环己二甲酸(cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid)、邻苯二甲酸(o-phthalic acid)、间苯二甲酸(isophthalic acid)、对苯二甲酸(terephthalic acid)、四氢化邻苯二甲酸(tetrahydrophthalic acid)、四氯邻苯二甲酸(tetrachlorophthalic acid)等等。除了这些二羧酸之外,还可以包括少量的具有三个或更多羧基的多元羧酸酐(polycarboxylic anhydride)或不饱和脂肪酸加成产物。作为有机二醇组分的实例,可以提及的烷基二醇有,例如乙二醇、丙二醇、丁二醇、1,4-丁二醇、1,6-己二醇和新戊二醇,或者环己烷二甲醇(dimethylolcyclohexane)、丁基乙基丙二醇(butylethylpentyl glycol)、甲基戊二醇(methylpentanediol)等等,其可以与适当少量的三元或更高的多元醇例如三羟甲基丙烷(trimethylolpropane)、甘油(glycerol)或季戊四醇(pentaerythritol)。
在以上提及的多羟基醇(b2)中,从耐冲击性和耐弯折性的角度来看,可以提及的特别合适的是从乙二醇、丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇、1,6-己二醇、二乙二醇、三甘醇、氢化双酚A、甘油、三羟甲基乙烷、三羟甲基丙烷、季戊四醇、二季戊四醇、聚乙二醇、聚丙二醇、聚丁二醇、聚(氧乙烯/氧丙烯)二醇、双酚A-乙二醇醚(bisphenol A-ethylene glycol ether)、双酚A-聚丙二醇醚等等组成的群组中选出。
多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)之间的反应可以在有机溶剂中完成(该有机溶剂例如是碳氢化合物类溶剂,例如甲苯、二甲苯、环己烷或正己烷;酯类溶剂,例如醋酸甲酯、醋酸乙酯或醋酸丁酯,酮类溶剂,例如丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基异丁基酮或甲基戊基酮,或以上溶剂的混合物)。将多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)以这样的量混合,即,使多羟基醇(b2)的OH基摩尔数与多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)的NCO基的比NCO/OH=1/0.4-0.95,最好为1/0.5-0.9作为多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)的反应比例,以留存游离异氰酸基,含异氰酸基的化合物(B)溶液可以通过在约50℃至200℃、最好是60-150℃的温度下,搅拌30分钟至10小时、最好是1-5小时,最好添加例如单丁基氧化锡或二丁基氧化锡的催化剂,以生成异氰酸基产物(B)的溶液。所得含异氰酸基产物(B)的NCO值较佳在5-250mgNCO/g范围,最佳为7-200mgNCO/g范围。
通过含异氰酸基的产物(B)与含有通过接枝聚合键合到淀粉和/或改
性淀粉上的乙烯共聚物的树脂(A)反应得到的树脂(C)
树脂(C)通过含异氰酸基的产物(B)与树脂(A)发生加成反应制备,其中该含异氰酸基产物通过多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)反应得到,该树脂通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合而键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上得到。树脂(A)与含异氰酸基的产物(B)可因所需的涂料膜性能而适当选择。
根据本发明,树脂(C)可以通过50-99%质量、较佳为60-98%质量的树脂(A)与1-50%质量、较佳为2-40%质量的含异氰酸基的产物(B)在有机溶剂中混合,上述%质量基于树脂(A)与含异氰酸基的产物(B)的总固体质量(上述有机溶剂例如是碳氢化合物类溶剂,例如甲苯、二甲苯、环己烷或正己烷;酯类溶剂,例如醋酸甲酯、醋酸乙酯或醋酸丁酯;酮类溶剂,例如丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基异丁基酮或甲基戊基酮;或以上溶剂的混合物),在约50℃至200℃、最好是60-150℃的温度下,搅拌30分钟至10小时、最好是1-5小时,并最好加入催化剂,例如单丁基氧化锡或二丁基氧化锡,引导发生加成反应制得。从可成形性的角度出发,所得树脂(C)的数均分子量较佳地为3,000-2,000,000范围,更佳地为5,000-100,000范围。
以这种方式生成的树脂(C)可适用于作为溶于或分散于有机溶剂类介质中的淀粉基涂料粘合剂。
可生物降解树脂
本发明的淀粉基涂料组合物还可以含有其它可生物降解树脂。作为公知的市售可生物降解的树脂的实例,除了淀粉基树脂之外,可以列举出植物纤维(纤维素树脂),聚羟基多元羧酸(polyhydroxycarboxylic acids),例如聚乳酸(polylactic acid),或聚己内酰胺(polycaprolactam),改性聚乙烯醇(modified polyvinyl alcohols)等等。脂肪族聚酯,例如聚己内酯(polycaprolactone)也可生物降解。除了上述提及的以外,还有大量的可生物降解树脂已经公知。根据本发明,任何可溶于溶剂的可生物降解树脂都可以使用,尽管纤维素树脂是首选。
硝化纤维素和醋酸丁酸纤维素(一种改性纤维素)作为油漆粘合剂或改性用添加树脂广泛用于涂料工业。根据本发明,当用作单组分型涂料时,加入少量硝化纤维素和/或醋酸丁酸纤维素,能改善涂料膜的干燥特性,并增加表面硬度。虽然发现聚羟基多元羧酸,具体说是聚乳酸,也具有增加表面硬度的作用,但是其倾向于生成较脆的涂料膜,而纤维素衍生树脂导致涂料膜性能和易用性更好的平衡。作为适用于本发明的硝化纤维素,可以列举出工业硝化纤维素BNC-HIG-2(法国Bergerac NC产品),业硝化纤维素RSl-4(韩国CNC产品),SwanCel HM1-4(Hyupseon公司产品)以及Sernova BTHI-4(旭化成株式会社(Asahi Kasei Corp.)产品),作为醋酸丁酸纤维素产品,可以列举出CAB381-0.1,CAB38I-0.5,CAB381-2,CAB531-1,CAB551-0.01以及CAB551-0.2(美国Eastman化学品公司产品)。
这些可生物降解树脂的含量,以作为主粘合剂的淀粉基树脂和可生物降解树脂的总量作为100份,最好不大于50份质量,更佳地不大于35份质量。如果含量大于50份质量,涂料膜的可成形性将会不足,并且成品外观和耐化学性将会处于实用范围之外。
淀粉基涂料
本发明的淀粉基涂料组合物可以作为有机溶剂型涂料用于传统公知的液体涂料系统,例如水性涂料、有机溶剂型涂料等等。这种系统使用稀释的溶剂,例如,碳氢化合物类溶剂,例如甲苯、二甲苯、环己烷和正己烷,酯类有机溶剂,例如醋酸甲酯、醋酸乙酯和醋酸丁酯,以及酮类有机溶剂,例如丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基异丁基酮和甲基戊基酮,单独或两种或更多种的结合,其作为油漆时涂覆极其轻松,是十分易于处理的涂料,并且具有高干燥速度。
如果需要,天然染料、有机合成染料或颜料、无机颜料和效果颜料也可以在淀粉基涂料中用作为彩色组分。

作为无机颜料可以列举出无水硅酸、硅酸镁、滑石、高岭土、斑脱土、氧化锆、氧化镁、氧化锌、氧化钛、轻质碳酸钙、重质碳酸钙、轻质碳酸镁、重质碳酸镁、硫酸钡、黄氧化铁、红氧化铁、黑氧化铁、群青(ultramarine)、氧化铬、氢氧化铬、碳黑、炉甘石等等。
效果颜料是一种赋予涂料膜闪亮外观或光干涉特性的鳞光颜料,作为实例,可以列举出鳞光铝薄片、气相沉积铝薄片、氧化铝、氯化氧铋(oxybismuth chloride)、云母、氧化钛包覆云母、氧化铁包覆云母、云母铁矿、氧化钛包覆硅、氧化钛包覆氧化铝、氧化铁包覆硅、氧化铁包覆氧化铝、玻璃片、彩色玻璃片、气相沉积玻璃薄片、全息膜(hologram films)等等。这种发光材料的大小最好为1-30μm长,0.001-1μm厚。
色彩组分的混合比例可以根据使用目的和所需性能来确定,但是,通常其相对于100份重量的淀粉基涂料组合物而言,色彩组分的总量处于0.001-400份质量、最好是0.01-200份质量的范围内。
如果需要,淀粉基涂料中还可以使用传统公知的表面控制剂(蜡、抗缩剂、消泡剂等)、增塑剂、紫外线吸收剂、抗氧化剂、流动性调节剂、防滴剂、消光剂、抛光剂、防腐剂等等。
蜡的添加对改善成品外观和耐化学性有显著的影响。根据本发明,可以使用任何按照惯例加入涂料的蜡。作为这种蜡的实例,可以列举出多羟基化合物与脂肪酸酯化的产物脂肪酸酯蜡、硅基蜡(silicon-based waxes)、氟基蜡(fluorine-based waxes)、聚烯烃蜡(polyolefin waxes)、动物蜡(animalwaxes)、植物蜡(plant waxes)等等,其中一种或多种最好选自聚乙烯基蜡(polyethylene-based waxes)、硅基蜡和氟基蜡。
这些蜡可以单独或者两种或更多种结合使用,其添加范围最好相对于100份重量的淀粉基树脂粘合剂和任意添加的可生物降解树脂的总量而言,在0.1-10份质量,更佳地在0.5-3份质量范围。
本发明的涂覆件通过用本发明的涂料组合物涂覆基材的表面而得到。以淀粉基涂料组合涂覆的基材不做特别限定,作为实例,可以列举出金属、塑料、玻璃、陶瓷、混凝土、纸张、纤维、木材、植物、石头、沙子等等。
本发明的淀粉基涂料可以通过滚涂、刷涂、浸渍涂覆、喷涂(非静电涂覆、静电涂覆或相似者)、幕式淋涂、丝网印刷或凸版印刷涂覆或印刷。
涂膜在低于100℃下干燥1-40分钟之后,使其在升高的温度下(50℃或以上)至少保持10小时,或使其在普通温度下(50℃或以下)保持1-7天,以使涂膜中的溶剂(和/或水)蒸发,形成连续的涂膜。如果需要,干燥可以通过在100-200℃保持30秒至120分钟,较佳为100-120℃保持2-30分钟完成。
涂膜的厚度不做特别限制,但是干燥膜厚度总体上平均约为1-200μm,较佳为2-100μm,最佳为5-50μm。
本发明现通过实施例和比较例加以详细说明,应该理解,本发明不以任何方式限于实施例的范围内。整个实施例中,“份”和“%”值指“质量份数”和“百分质量(%质量)”。
改性淀粉的制造
将25份高直链玉米淀粉(日本玉米淀粉公司(Nihon Cornstarch Corp.)产品,羟值:500mgKOH/g)混悬在200份二甲基亚砜(DMSO)中后,将混合物在搅拌下加热至90℃,并保持20分钟使其胶凝。向该溶液中加入20份重质碳酸钠作为催化剂,然后在温度保持90℃下加入17份月桂酸乙烯酯,在该温度下反应1小时。之后加入37份醋酸乙烯酯,继续在80℃反应1小时。然后将反应液倒入自来水中,高速搅拌混合物以使其分散,然后过滤并脱水制备改性淀粉1。
制造例1:聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂1溶液
在装有温度计、自动控温器、搅拌器、冷凝管和滴定装置的1L反应器中加入466份醋酸丁酯,氮气氛中搅拌下将混合物加热至50℃。接着将160份的改性淀粉1保持在50℃下加入反应器,之后将温度升至100℃并搅拌混合物,直至加入的改性淀粉1全部溶解。
将具有下列组分的“混合物1”溶液在1小时的期间里逐滴加入,逐滴加完后,将混合物在100℃老化1小时,得到树脂固体含量为30%的改性淀粉树脂1的溶液。

聚氨酯树脂溶液1的制造
在装有温度计、自动控温器、搅拌器、冷凝管和滴定管的1L反应器中加入125份甲苯和292份六亚甲基二异氰酸酯,氮气氛中搅拌下将混合物加热至80℃。接着将208份三甘醇溶液在3小时的期间里逐滴加入,逐滴加完后,将混合物在80℃老化30分钟,制备树脂固体部分为80%的聚氨酯树脂溶液1。该聚氨酯树脂的NCO值为58mgNCO/g。
聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂2的聚氨酯改性
在装有温度计、自动控温器、搅拌器和冷凝管的1L反应器中加入41份醋酸丁酯和600份制造例2得到的树脂固体含量为30%的改性淀粉树脂2溶液,氮气氛中搅拌下将混合物加热至100℃。接着加入25份上述得到的固体含量为80%的聚氨酯树脂溶液1,继续搅拌混合物使其均匀,之后加入0.04份二月桂酸二丁基锡作为催化剂,在氮气氛中100℃搅拌下反应6小时,得到树脂固体含量为30%的聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂2的聚氨酯改性树脂溶液。该聚氨酯改性树脂的NCO值小于1.0mgNCO/g。
制造例8:聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂5的聚氨酯改性树脂溶液2
聚氨酯树脂溶液2的制造
在装有温度计、自动控温器、搅拌器、冷凝管和滴定装置的1L反应器中加入125份甲苯和378份异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯,氮气氛中搅拌下将混合物加热至80℃。接着将122份1,4-丁二醇在3小时的期间里逐滴加入,逐滴加完后,将混合物在80℃老化30分钟,制备树脂固体部分为80%的聚氨酯树脂溶液2。该聚氨酯树脂的NCO值为57mgNCO/g。
聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂5的聚氨酯改性
在装有温度计、自动控温器、搅拌器和冷凝管的1L反应器中加入41份醋酸丁酯和600份制造例5得到的树脂固体含量为30%的改性淀粉树脂5溶液,氮气氛中搅拌下将混合物加热至100℃。接着加入25份上述得到的固体含量为80%的聚氨酯树脂溶液2,继续搅拌混合物使其均匀,之后加入0.04份二月桂酸二丁基锡作为催化剂,在氮气氛中100℃搅拌下反应6小时,得到树脂固体含量为30%的聚合物粘接的改性淀粉树脂5的聚氨酯改性树脂溶液2。该聚氨酯改性树脂的NCO值小于1.0mgNCO/g。
制造例9:改性淀粉树脂和丙烯酸树脂混合物的聚氨酯改性树脂溶液

单组分型淀粉基涂料组合物的制造
实施例1
向333份制造例1得到的改性淀粉树脂1溶液中(100份固体含量)中加入15份HIGHFLAT F-713(*4)(2份固体含量)、42份ALPASTEFX-440(*5)(23份固体含量)、3份HIGHCONC BLACK(*6)、1.5份SYLYSIA 446(*7)和131份甲乙酮,将混合物用搅拌器彻底混匀,得到固体含量为25%的1号淀粉基涂料组合物。
实施例2-9及比较例1-4
2-13号淀粉基涂料组合物通过重复实施例1的步骤得到,除了将制造例2-9所得改性淀粉树脂溶液代替制造例1所得改性淀粉树脂溶液用作粘合剂,改变的组合物如下表1所示。

测试板的制作
使用实施例1-9所得的1-9号淀粉基涂料组合物和比较例1-4所得的10-13号淀粉基涂料组合物喷涂NORYL SE1-701板(改性聚苯醚,日本GE塑料公司产品),得到8μm厚的干燥薄膜。
接着使用电加热空气干燥器60℃强制干燥30分钟,之后在室温下(20℃)干燥7天,制得1-9号和10-13号测试板。
制得的1-13号测试板供在以下条件下进行测试。
测试方法
储存稳定性
各淀粉基涂料储存在1L的密封玻璃容器中,30℃储存2周后以如下等级评价。
极优(VG):涂料稳定,无相分离。
优(G):可见涂料相分离,但用刮铲轻轻手动搅拌后即恢复均匀状态。
良(F):可见明显的涂料相分离,但使用旋转搅拌器剧烈搅拌一分钟或更长时间后可以重新分散。
差(P):涂料彻底分离,不能再分散。
干燥特性
将涂料喷涂到NORYL SE1-701板(改性聚苯醚,日本GE塑料公司产品)上,得到8μm厚的干燥薄膜,并采用电加热空气干燥器60℃强制干燥30分钟,之后将涂料板迅速冷却至室温,基于触觉的表面干燥特性如下评价。
极优(VG):涂料膜坚硬而光滑,指甲挤压时无印痕。
优(G):涂料膜有弹性,但指甲挤压时无印痕。
良(F):涂料膜有弹性,指甲挤压时留有印痕。
差(P):涂料膜有粘着触感,指甲挤压后留有印痕,指腹挤压后留有指纹。
成品外观
目测评价各测试薄片的涂覆的表面外观。
优(G):满意的成品外观
良(F):至少以失光泽和剥落进行论证时成品外观减弱。
差(P):至少以失泛白和收缩进行论证时成品外观明显减弱。
涂料膜外观
目测评价各测试薄片的涂覆的表面外观。
优(G):整个表面色调均匀,符合要求。
良(F):涂覆表面色彩轻微不规则。
差(P):涂覆表面色彩明显可辨的不规则。
铅笔硬度:
按照日本工业标准(JIS)K5600-5-4(1999)的程序进行,将铅笔芯靠着测试涂料薄片表面成约45°的角度放置,并将其紧压测试涂料薄片表面而不使笔芯断裂以均匀的速度向前移动约10mm。在不同的位置重复该程序5次,记录不划破涂料膜的最硬铅笔的硬度编号,将其作为铅笔硬度。
耐擦伤性:
将市售名片贴靠涂料膜并轻轻地摩擦,判断产生的损伤等级。
极优(VG):完全无损伤。
优(G):实质上无损伤。
良(F):轻微擦伤。
差(P):严重擦伤。
附着力:
按照日本工业标准(JIS)K5600-5-6(1990)的程序进行,在涂料膜上形成100个1mm×1mm的方格,表面粘上胶带,突然将其剥离后,测定保留在表面的涂料膜方格数。
极优(VG):保留的方格数/总方格数=100/100。
优(G):保留的方格数/总方格数=99/100。
良(F):保留的方格数/总方格数=90-98/100。
差(P):保留的方格数/总方格数=<89/100。
耐冲击性:
使用杜邦(DuPont)耐冲击性测试仪(1/2英寸重锤,500g×50cm)测评。
优(G):单次撞击后涂料膜上无可见裂缝。
差(P):单次撞击后涂料膜上可见明显裂缝。
耐碱性:
向测试薄片的涂料膜表面逐滴滴加1%氢氧化钠水溶液0.5mL后,将其置于20℃、65%RH的空气环境中24小时,然后用纱布擦净涂覆的表面,目测评价其外观。
优(G):涂料膜表面完全无异常。
良(F):涂料膜表面观察到染色(褪色)。
差(P):涂料膜表面观察到明显的染色(褪色)。
耐化学性:
将两片滤纸片置于各涂覆的测试薄片上,用滴管逐滴滴加78%乙醇和2%福尔马林润湿滤纸片。在一小时的时段内用滴管完成5次逐滴滴加,然后,两小时后移去滤纸,如下观察并目测评价涂料膜表面。
极优(VG):完全无异常,例如起泡或剥落。
优(G):实质上无明显可见异常,例如起泡或剥落。
良(F):可见例如起泡或剥落的异常。
差(P):涂料膜溶解。
耐候性
根据日本工业标准(JIS)JIS H8602-5.12(1992)采用炭精电弧灯型加速耐候性测试日光老化试验机测定多层涂料的光泽(喷水时间:12分钟,黑板温度:60℃),测定相对于试验前的光泽保光性降至低于80%所需的时间。
极优(VG):超过300小时保光性才降至低于80%。
优(G):至少200小时但小于300小时保光性才降至低于80%。
良(F):至少100小时但小于200小时保光性才降至低于80%。
差(P):少于100小时保光性就降至低于80%。
根据本发明,可以获得具有极佳储存稳定性的单组分型淀粉基涂料组合物,以生成具有优越的成品外观、硬度、附着力、耐化学性以及耐碱性的涂料膜。
Claims (9)
1.一种淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于作为粘合剂使用树脂(A),其通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合而键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上得到。
2.一种淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于,作为粘合剂使用树脂(C)其通过含异氰酸基产物(B)与树脂(A)的加成反应制备,其中该树脂通过将乙烯聚合物经接枝聚合而键合到淀粉和/或改性淀粉上得到,该含异氰酸基产物通过多异氰酸酯化合物(b1)与多羟基醇(b2)反应得到。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于树脂(A)是一种乙烯聚合物通过包含1-90%芳香基单体的不饱和单体混合物的接枝聚合键合至淀粉和/或改性淀粉上的树脂。
4.根据权利要求3所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于树脂(A)是一种乙烯聚合物通过包含1-90%芳香基单体、1-50%含羟基单体及0-98%其它单体的不饱和单体混合物的接枝聚合键合至淀粉和/或改性淀粉上的树脂。
5.根据权利要求1至4中任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于该淀粉基涂料组合物溶于或分散于有机溶剂型介质。
6.根据权利要求1至5中任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于还包含可生物降解树脂。
7.根据权利要求6所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于该可生物降解树脂为改性硝化纤维素和/或纤维素。
8.根据权利要求1至7中任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物,其特征在于还包含蜡。
9.用根据权利要求1至8中任一项所述的淀粉基涂料组合物涂覆的涂覆件。
