Drawings
The various aspects of the present invention will become apparent to the reader after reading the detailed description of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings. Wherein,
FIG. 1 is a schematic view of an interface for an encoded Electronic Program Guide (EPG);
FIG. 2 is a flow chart illustrating a television navigation interface positioning system and method of the present invention for positioning an EPG interface based on encoded input to the EPG interface;
fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of keys of a remote controller of a set-top box according to the invention.
Detailed Description
Embodiments of the present invention will be described in further detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The interactive television navigation system adopts the set top box supporting the interactive television, the interaction between the set top box and the EPG server is data interaction based on an IP network, and the set top box bears video data when communicating.
The interactive television navigation of the present invention uses fixed-length coding or variable-length coding.
As shown in fig. 1, in the fixed length coding, the coding length is kept unchanged, and it uses some keys on the input device such as a remote controller as the start keys, such as the key of "key" (key 200), "key of" # "(key 220), and" key of "0" (key 210). In the variable length coding, the number of stages of the difference between a certain interface and the first interface or the relationship between one interface and the other interface is expressed by adopting codes with different coding lengths.
For example, if an EPG first interface is coded as 00 and the interface is considered to be an EPG interface of the second level (i.e., the interface can be reached from a link in the first page), then if another EPG interface is coded as 001, then we consider that the EPG interface coded as 001 can be reached through a link in the interface 00. Similarly, we can also use the codes #001, #00,00,001 to show the EPG interface levels, except that "#" and "") are used here to show the beginning of a code.
FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the positioning system of the TV navigation interface of the present invention. The positioning system of the television navigation interface of the embodiment comprises: a set-top box 10 and an EPG server 20.
As shown in fig. 2, the tv user inputs a desired EPG interface code through a remote controller, and waits for a period of time after the input is completed or presses the enter key 230, and the set-top box 10 transmits the interface code to the EPG server 20. And the EPG server inquires the EPG interface corresponding to the input EPG interface code. If the interface code does not specify a corresponding interface, returning error information to a user or directing the television program to a default EPG interface; if the input EPG interface code matches with an EPG interface address, the EPG server 20 returns the EPG interface corresponding to the EPG interface address to the set-top box after querying the EPG interface address corresponding to the interface code. After the EPG server 20 queries the EPG interface address corresponding to the interface code, and before returning the EPG interface corresponding to the EPG interface address to the set-top box 10, the set-top box 10 may first return the EPG interface address to the set-top box 10, and then the set-top box 10 sends a request for the EPG interface address to the EPG server 20.
FIG. 2 is also useful in explaining the method of the present invention for fast positioning of an interactive television navigation interface. The method specifically comprises the following steps:
(1) set-top box normal use service 100: when a user watches an interactive television, the user requests an EPG service from the EPG server 20 through the set-top box 10, and the process can be one or more operations;
(2) user input EPG interface code 110: the user inputs a certain EPG interface code through the remote controller, presses the enter key 230 or waits for a period of time;
(3) the set-top box sends the EPG interface code to the EPG server 120: the set-top box 10 transmits the EPG interface code input by the user to the EPG server 20;
(4) the EPG server queries, according to the received EPG interface code input by the user, the EPG interface address 130 corresponding to the code: the EPG server 20 queries an EPG interface address corresponding to the input EPG interface code according to the received EPG interface code sent from the set-top box 10;
(5) return to EPG interface address 140: the EPG server 20 returns an EPG interface address corresponding to the EPG interface code to the set-top box 10;
(6) request the EPG interface 150 to which the EPG interface address points: the set-top box 10 requests an EPG server for an EPG interface corresponding to the EPG interface address;
(7) returning to the requested EPG interface 160: the EPG server 20 returns the EPG interface corresponding to the EPG interface address to the set-top box 10.
The returned EPG interface address 140 and the EPG interface 150 to which the request for the EPG interface address is directed may be omitted, that is, after the EPG server queries the EPG interface address 130 corresponding to the code according to the received EPG interface code input by the user, the requested EPG interface is directly returned to the set top box 10.
Hereinbefore, specific embodiments of the present invention are described with reference to the drawings. However, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications and substitutions can be made to the encoding method, the operation flow, and the like in the embodiment of the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The input device employed in the above system may also be some kind of computer keyboard, for example. Such modifications and substitutions are intended to be included within the scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.
