Abstract

Description
本发明涉及水性组合物,其包含(i)水性聚合物组合物,例如一或多种乳液聚合物或水性分散聚合物,以及以组合物中固体的总重计0.1.到5wt.%,或优选地至多2.0wt.%的(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物,所述聚烷氧基化物具有2到15个聚烷氧基链和以组合物中聚烷氧基化物固体的总重计20到70wt.%的环氧乙烷(EO)含量。更具体而言,它涉及低挥发性有机物含量(VOC)的水性组合物,其包含(i)一或多种乳液聚合物、水性分散聚合物或其混合物和(ii)以组合物中固体的总重计0.1到5wt.%,或优选地至多2.0wt.%的一或多种式I-[AOnH]f聚烷氧基化物,其中I为含有有机活性氢的化合物;其中AO为环氧烷,其包含环氧乙烷(EO)或者以随机次序与环氧丙烷(PO)和/或环氧丁烷(BO)结合的EO或在具有嵌段,优选具有至少一个EO嵌段的低聚物中的EO;其中n为AO基团的总数并可在1到50,或优选地2到20范围内;其中f为I中活性氢基团的总数,其在2到15范围内。
最近已经开发了具有更低量的挥发性有机化合物(VOCs)(例如低于150g/L)的水载(waterborne)或水性(aqueous)涂料组合物。水性组合物可包含乳液聚合物,其具有-50到30℃的测量的(DSC)玻璃化转变温度(Tg),并且依赖于添加VOCs作为聚结剂而使得能够在环境温度下形成薄膜并随后固化。VOCs在水性油漆或涂料组合物制品中的存在还赋予更好的晾置时间和冻融(F/T)稳定性,并使得能够进行更好的流动和流平、衬底润湿和油漆薄膜消泡,其可导致更好的粘附和表面外观特征。随着市场移向低含量/零含量的由于快速薄膜形成而具有低Tg零VOC粘结剂的VOC涂料,许多这些特征受到损害。对在涂覆时具有显著改进的晾置时间和/或湿边时间的水性油漆或涂料组合物存在市场需求。
Palmer Jr.等人的美国专利公开号US2014/0256862A1公开了用于涂料、醇酸油漆和纸涂料组合物的水性组合物,所述组合物包含三-或二-苯乙烯化的苯酚和环氧乙烷/环氧丙烷表面活性剂的烷氧基化物,其中组合物被赋予晾置时间或冻融特征。此外,如果被转化成硫酸根或磷酸根阴离子,此类烷氧基化物可提供改进的晾置时间。
因此,本发明发明人寻求解决提供用作涂料油漆、特别是高固体和弹性聚合物组合物的水性组合物的优异的晾置时间特征的问题。
发明内容
1.根据本发明,水性组合物包含(i)一或多种乳液聚合物、一或多种水性分散聚合物或其混合物的水性聚合物组合物,和(ii)以组合物中固体的总重计0.1到5wt.%,或优选地至多2.0wt.%的一或多种聚烷氧基化物,其具有2到15个、或优选地3到10个、或更优选地3到8个聚烷氧基链和以组合物中聚烷氧基化物固体的总重计20到70wt.%,或优选地20到50wt.%的环氧乙烷(EO)含量。
2.根据如以上条目1中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(i)水性聚合物组合物包含一或多种乳液聚合物,所述一或多种乳液聚合物包含一或多种乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物,优选地至少一种如例如弹性乳液聚合物的测量的(DSC)玻璃化转变温度(测量的Tg)为-100到20℃,或优选地-60到15℃的乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物。
3.根据以上条目1或2中任一项的本发明的水性组合物,其中(i)水性聚合物组合物包含一或多种乳液聚合物,其含有一或多种共聚形式的选自以下的单体:丙烯酸C1到C24烷酯或甲基丙烯酸C1到C24烷酯、烯基酯、如苯乙烯的乙烯基芳香族化合物。优选地,(i)水性聚合物组合物包含一或多种乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物。更优选地,乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物另外还包含一或多种共聚形式的选自以下的单体:如(甲基)丙烯酸或其盐的烯属不饱和羧酸单体;如丙烯酰胺的烯属不饱和酰胺单体;如甲基丙烯酸膦基乙酯的含有磷酸基团的乙烯基或丙烯酸单体;如甲基丙烯酰胺基丙烷磺酸或其盐的含有硫酸基团的乙烯基或丙烯酸单体;如甲基丙烯酸烯丙酯的多烯属不饱和单体;羟基-官能单体;胺-官能单体;环氧基-官能单体;酮-官能单体,以及可自氧化单体。
4.根据如以上条目1、2、或3中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物具有式I-[AOnH]f,其中I为含有有机活性氢的化合物;其中AO为环氧烷,其包含环氧乙烷(EO)或者以随机次序与环氧丙烷(PO)和/或环氧丁烷(BO)结合的EO或在具有嵌段,优选具有至少一个EO嵌段的低聚物中的EO;其中n为AO基团的总数并可以在1到50,或优选地2到20范围内;其中f为I中活性氢基团的总数,其在2到15、或优选地3到10、或更优选地3到8范围内。
5.根据如以上条目1、2、3、或4中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物具有800到10,000,或优选地800到6000的数均分子量(Mn)。
6.根据如以上条目1、2、3、4、或5中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物中的至少一种在100kPa下具有280℃到450℃,或优选地300℃或更高的标准沸点。
7.根据如以上条目1、2、3、4、5、或6中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物为选自以下的活性氢化合物的聚烷氧基化物:具有3个或更多个羟基的多元醇、双官能氨基醇、二胺、三胺、多胺、以及具有3到8个羟基的酚醛树脂。
8.根据如以上条目7中的本发明的水性组合物,其中(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物为二乙醇胺、甘油、季戊四醇、糖醇、二胺或三胺的聚烷氧基化物。
9.根据如以上条目1、2、3、4、5、6、7或8中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中组合物进一步包含一或多种聚结剂,如标准沸点为280℃到450℃,或优选地300℃或更高的二醇酯或二醇醚酯。
10.根据如以上条目1到9中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中水性组合物具有以总组合物的总重计40到85wt.%,或优选地50到85wt.%的固体含量。
11.根据如以上条目1到10中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中水性组合物具有150g/L或更低,或优选地100g/L或更低、或更优选地50g/L或更低的挥发性有机物含量(VOC)。
12.根据如以上条目1到11中任一项中的本发明的水性组合物,其中组合物进一步包含一或多种填充剂、增充剂(优选为碳酸钙、氧化钙、二氧化硅、硅酸盐)、和/或如白色不透明的颜料(优选为二氧化钛)的颜料、或者优选地与一或多种填充剂和/或增充剂组合的一或多种颜料。
13.根据本发明的另一方面,使用如以上条目1到12中任一项中的水性组合物的方法包含将水性组合物涂覆到衬底上并干燥,优选在环境条件下干燥。
除非另外说明,温度和压力条件为室温和标准压力,本文也称作“环境条件”。

所有包含括号的短语表示包括括号内的物质或它不存在,或者两者都有。例如,短语“(甲基)丙烯酸酯”包括可供选择的丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸酯。

如本文所使用,术语“环氧乙烷(EO)含量”是指通过以下方式对于任何聚烷氧基化物确定的重量百分数:从相同聚烷氧基化物的数均分子量减去用来制造聚烷氧基化物的活性氢化合物的分子量,除以聚烷氧基化物的数均分子量并将所述结果乘以100%。对于含有环氧乙烷和其它环氧烷的聚烷氧基化物,将以上计算修改以体现用来制造聚烷氧基化物的环氧乙烷和其它环氧烷的相对数量。因此,例如,如果使用2份环氧乙烷和3份环氧丙烷从乙二胺(fw=64)制造数均分子量为1000的聚烷氧基化物,环氧烷的总重%为(1000-64)/1000x100%或93.6%,环氧乙烷的含量为2/5x93.6%或37.44wt.%。

本发明发明人发现,具有2到15个,或优选地至多8个聚烷氧基链并具有以总聚烷氧基化物固体的重量计20到70wt.%的环氧乙烷基团的聚烷氧基化物可制造用作油漆和涂料的水性组合物,其具有显著改进的晾置时间但几乎不对如薄膜形成的油漆特征产生不利影响。本发明的聚烷氧基化物晾置时间添加剂包含液体,并可以具有非常低粘度的100wt.%的固体提供,从而使得能够便于添加剂单独处理或与其它添加剂组合处理。本发明的聚烷氧基化物也是零VOC材料。

优选地,活性氢化合物为具有3个或更多个羟基的多元醇、双官能氨基醇、二胺、三胺、多胺以及具有3到8个羟基的酚醛树脂。
本发明的聚烷氧基化物(ii)的环氧乙烷(EO)含量可以是以聚烷氧基化物中固体的总重计20到70wt%,或优选地20到50wt.%中的任何数值。EO含量应该足够高从而使得聚烷氧基化物能够分散于水中,但也应该足够低以使聚烷氧基化物足够小从而与粘结剂相容。
本发明的聚烷氧基化物(ii)的数均分子量或Mn可在800到10,000范围内,或优选地6,000或更低。太高的Mn可导致产生凝胶和/或絮化或含有聚烷氧基化物的水性组合物。
聚烷氧基化物(i)的实例可包括例如如丙二醇的二-聚乙氧基化的二醇、如甘油的三-聚乙氧基化的三醇、如聚乙氧基化的季戊四醇的具有四个或更多个活性氢基团的聚乙氧基化的醇、二-、三-、或四-聚乙氧基化的二胺、如五-聚乙氧基化的三亚乙基戊胺的三-或更高-聚乙氧基化的多胺、以及含有两个或更多个聚(烷氧基)链的乙氧基化的烷基苯酚甲醛树脂。
一或多种本发明的聚烷氧基化物(ii)可通过以常规方式将活性氢化合物与环氧乙烷或环氧乙烷和环氧丙烷和/或环氧丁烷的组合反应来制造。
用来制造本发明的聚烷氧基化物(ii)的活性氢化合物与环氧乙烷的反应可在50到200℃、或优选地90到150℃下,在100到2000kPa的压力下,在压力反应器或高压釜中进行。可使用碱性催化剂,例如甲醇钠、如NaOH或KOH的碱金属氢氧化物。
本发明的水性聚合物组合物(i)可选自如聚氨酯分散体系和多聚烯烃分散体系的水性分散聚合物、水性乳液聚合物及其混合物。
优选地,本发明的水性聚合物组合物(i)包含一或多种乳液聚合物。合适的水性乳液聚合物可从一或多种如例如(甲基)丙烯酸甲酯、(甲基)丙烯酸乙酯、或丙烯酸乙基己酯的可聚合的烯属不饱和单体制备。

本发明的乳液聚合物(i)中共聚的烯属不饱和羧酸单体的合适的含量以用来制造聚合物的单体固体的总重计可在0到10wt.%、优选地0.1到5wt.%、以及更优选地0.5到2.5wt.%范围内。
用来制造本发明的乳液聚合物(i)的合适的烯属不饱和羧酸单体还可包括从烯属不饱和单体形成并含有多元酸基团的多元酸官能团。可例如通过包括作为聚合单元的末端不饱和多元酸大分子单体将多酸官能团引入聚合物颗粒中。
本发明的乳液聚合物(i)可任选地具有一或多种如例如含磷酸基团、含硫酸基团、其盐、及其组合的来自共聚形式的单体的强酸官能团。含磷酸-官能团可以是(二)氢磷酸根基团、膦酸根基团、次膦酸根基团、其碱金属盐、其其它盐,或其组合。乳液聚合物(i)可含有以用来制造共聚物的单体固体的重量计含量为0.0到10wt.%、优选地至多5wt.%、以及更优选地至多3.5wt.%的共聚形式的此类强酸官能团。
合适的含有含磷酸基团的单体可包括例如含有可聚合的乙烯基或烯烃基团的醇的(二)氢磷酸酯,例如(甲基)丙烯酸羟基烷酯(包括(甲基)丙烯酸羟基乙酯)的磷酸酯。其它合适的此类单体可包括例如如乙烯基膦酸的膦酸根官能单体。优选的含磷酸单体包括(甲基)丙烯酸磷酸乙酯。
用来制造本发明的乳液聚合物(i)的其它合适的可聚合的单体可包括例如羟基-、胺-、环氧基-和酮-官能单体、如含有乙酰乙酰氧基的单体(例如(甲基)丙烯酸乙酰乙酰氧基烷酯)的可自氧化单体、以及少量的粘附-促进单体;以及包括但不限于作为TremTM LF-40(宾夕法尼亚州普鲁士国王的汉高公司(Henkel Corporation))销售的单体的可聚合表面活性剂。
合适的可自氧化单体可包括,例如,含有烯属-不饱和乙酰乙酰氧基的单体,可包括乙酰乙酰氧基乙基甲基丙烯酸酯、乙酰乙酰氧基乙基丙烯酸酯、乙酰乙酰氧基丙基甲基丙烯酸酯、乙酰乙酸烯丙酯、乙酰乙酰氧基丁基甲基丙烯酸酯、2,3-二(乙酰乙酰氧基)丙基甲基丙烯酸酯、或其组合。
优选的本发明快干水性组合物可包含一或多种多胺,其可以是乳液聚合物。本发明的多胺乳液聚合物可由合适的以下物质制造:如例如氨基烷基乙烯基醚或硫醚的含有胺的单体;如(甲基)丙烯酸二甲基氨基乙酯的含有胺的丙烯酰胺或(甲基)丙烯酸酯;如聚(甲基丙烯酸恶唑烷基乙酯)、N-(甲基)丙烯酰氧基烷基四氢-1,3-恶嗪的N-(甲基)丙烯酰氧基烷基-唑烷、以及如在美国专利号5,804,627中所公开容易通过水解产生胺的单体。
为了限制本发明的乳液聚合物(i)的水敏性,共聚物中的或用来制造共聚物的含磷酸、多元酸、酸、羟基、胺、酮、醛、醇醛、酮-酯(乙酰乙酰氧基)或醛亚胺基团官能团的总量不能超过25wt.%,或者另外,不能超过20wt.%。
用于本发明的水性组合物中的乳液聚合物(i)可通过常规聚合方法制备,包括在从室温到约90℃的已知聚合温度下的悬浮液或乳液聚合,其可针对所使用的催化剂体系进行优化。乳液聚合物可具有单峰或多峰(包括双峰)颗粒尺寸分布
合适的乳液聚合技术在聚合物领域是众所周知的,并可包括单阶段方法和多阶段聚合方法。在后一种情况下,第一阶段聚合物可通过如溶液聚合、本体聚合或乳液聚合的各种技术制备。优选使用乳液聚合。
用来制备多阶段聚合物颗粒的乳液聚合技术在本领域是众所周知的,并公开于例如美国专利号4,325,856、4,654,397和4,814,373中。聚合可使用一或多种水溶性或水不溶性聚合引发剂来进行,引发剂在聚合温度下会热分解,产生如例如过硫酸盐(例如铵或碱金属(钾、钠、或锂)的过硫酸盐)的自由基。
乳液聚合引发剂可单独使用,或作为氧化还原系统的氧化成分使用,所述氧化还原系统还包括如例如抗坏血酸或甲醛次硫酸钠的还原成分。氧化还原催化剂系统的实例包括叔丁基氢过氧化物/甲醛次硫酸钠/Fe(II),以及铵过硫酸盐/亚硫酸氢钠/连二亚硫酸钠/Fe(II)。引发剂以及任选的还原成分每个可以以待聚合单体混合物中烯属不饱和单体的重量计0.001%到5%的比例使用。可使用少量的如钴、铁、镍、或铜的氯化物盐和硫酸盐的加速剂。
如硫醇、多硫醇和多卤化合物的链转移剂,包括如正十二烷基硫醇的烷基硫醇,可用来控制本发明的乳液聚合物的分子量。这些的量以用来制备乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物的烯属不饱和单体的总重计可在0到10wt.%范围内。
合适的本发明的乳液聚合物(i)可含有作为聚合的官能团的、被去质子化时为阴离子的那些,即至多10wt.%、例如至多7.5wt.%、以及优选地0.1wt.%或更高,或优选地至多5.0wt.%的一或多种烯属不饱和羧酸单体,例如羧酸、羧酸酐、含有含磷酸基团的单体、含有硫的酸单体、及其混合物。
可通过将稳定表面活性剂包括到聚合容器中的聚合混合物中来阻碍本发明的水性聚合物组合物(i)的聚集。在每年出版的《McCutcheon清洁剂和乳化剂(McCutcheon's Detergents and Emulsifiers)》(新泽西州格伦罗克的MC Publishing Co.)中给出了适合乳液聚合的表面活性剂的许多实例。还可使用如保护胶体的其它类型的稳定剂。例如,可将甲基纤维素和羟基乙基纤维素包括到聚合混合物中。
本发明的水性聚合物组合物(i)可制成固体含量为20到70wt.%、或优选在30到60wt.%范围内的水性分散体系或悬浮液。
优选地,本发明组合物包含高固体水性聚合物组合物、弹性水性聚合物组合物或快干水性聚合物组合物。
优选地,本发明的水性组合物可具有50到85wt.%、或高达80wt.%的很高的总固体含量。此类组合物趋于快干。
合适的快干组合物可包括一或多种在组合物中的多胺,其具有7到11.5、或优选地8或更高的pH。
即使组合物不是涂料组合物,例如组合物是例如可用于不透水膜或EIFS面漆的非胶结性粘结剂组合物,本发明的水性组合物也可包含一或多种填充剂、增充剂和/或颜料。填充剂、增充剂和/或颜料在快干组合物中的合适浓度可在总固体的50到90wt.%、或优选地60到85wt.%范围内。此类组合物可具有10wt.%到40wt.%、或优选地15wt.%或更高、或优选地至多25wt.%的低总聚合物固体比例,所有wt.%都以水性组合物的总重计。
本发明的水性组合物可具有例如0到80%、或20%或更高、或优选地40到75%、或更优选地40%或更高或至多65%的百分比颜料体积浓度(%PVC)。%PVC为40%或更高的组合物可为高固体组合物。
用于本发明的水性组合物的合适的填充剂或增充剂可包括例如碳酸钙、二氧化硅、如白云石或铝硅酸盐的硅酸盐、滑石、霞石正长岩、如氧化钙的陶瓷、石英(砂)、玻璃或聚合微球、水泥、以及石英砂。碳酸钙和硅酸盐是优选的。
在本发明的水性组合物中,二氧化硅可以0到40%PVC,优选地0到25%PVC使用;霞石正长岩或其它铝硅酸盐可以0到40%PVC,优选地0到25%PVC使用。
用于本发明的水性组合物的合适的颜料可包括二氧化钛、有机颜料、炭黑和氧化铁。无机颜料的量可在0到15%PVC,优选地3到10%PVC范围内。
作为颜料的不透明聚合物可以0到30%PVC,或优选地0到15%PVC使用。为了%PVC计算,不透明聚合物被看作是颜料而不是粘结剂。
本发明的水性组合物可含有如以下的另外的成分:例如,表面活性剂、分散剂、如聚乙烯基醇(PVA)、羟基乙基纤维素(HEC)的增稠剂、如例如疏水改性的碱溶性乳液(HASE)、疏水改性的环氧乙烷-聚氨酯聚合物(HEUR)、以及疏水改性的羟基乙基纤维素(HMHEC)的缔合增稠剂、碱溶性或碱溶胀的乳液(ASE)其它纤维素增稠剂、以及硅镁土粘土;流变改性剂;硅烷、着色剂;聚结剂和可塑剂;交联剂;增粘剂;分散剂;润湿剂;染料;螯合剂;防腐剂、杀菌剂和防霉剂;防冻剂;增滑添加剂;蜡;消泡剂;腐蚀抑制剂;抗絮凝剂;以及如二苯甲酮的紫外线吸收剂。HEC是优选的增稠剂.
用于本发明的合适的分散剂可包括一或多种非离子型、或如例如羧酸的阴离子型分散剂、以及如基于聚羧酸的均聚物和共聚物的阴离子型聚合物,包括被疏水改性的或亲水改性的那些,例如具有各种如苯乙烯、或烷基(芳基)(甲基)丙烯酸酯的共聚单体的聚(甲基)丙烯酸。
一或多种表面活性剂可在单体聚合后或在形成聚合物分散体系时用来稳定水性乳液聚合物组合物,并可以以聚合中单体的总重计0.1到8wt.%的浓度存在。合适的表面活性剂包括阳离子型、阴离子型和非离子型表面活性剂。
本发明的水性组合物可包含以组合物中固体的总重计0.1到5wt.%、或优选地0.1%到优选地至多2wt.%的聚结剂。聚结剂可包含例如可例如通过将如根据宾夕法尼亚州西康舍霍肯的ASTM国际公开ASTM D 2354-10(2010,宾夕法尼亚州西康舍霍肯的ASTMInternational)测量的组合物的最低薄膜形成温度(“MFFT”)降低来促进水性聚合分散体系的薄膜形成的任何成分。
合适的聚结剂可包含标准沸点为至少280℃的二醇酯或二醇醚酯。合适的聚结剂可为例如根据以下式Z的任何化合物:

其中R1为C1到C8烷基、苯基或苄基;其中R2为氢或甲基;其中R3为C4到C6烷基或苯基;其中n=2–4,但条件是当R3为苯基且n=2–4时R1为C5–C8。R3还可以是具有如乙酰丙酸中的酮的酮的烷基。此式所述的二醇醚酯的非包含的实例为二甘醇苯基醚苯甲酸酯、三丙二醇甲基醚苯甲酸酯、二丙二醇苯基醚乙酰丙酸酯、以及三丙二醇正丁基醚异戊酸酯。其它合适的聚结剂为以下式A所示的二丁氧基己二酸酯。

其中R1和R4为C1到C8烷基、苯基或苄基;其中R2为氢或甲基;其中n=1–4;其中R3为含有0到4个碳原子的碳链并可含有双键。此式所述的双-二醇醚酯的非包含的实例为双-二丙二醇正丁基醚己二酸酯、双-二甘醇正丁基醚丙二酸酯、双-二甘醇正丁基醚琥珀酸酯、以及双-二丙二醇正丁基醚马来酸酯。此类聚结剂可如Adamson等人在美国专利公开号2012/0258249A中所公开的那样来制备。
再其它的合适的聚结剂为丙二醇苯基醚、乙二醇苯基醚、二丙二醇正丁基醚、乙二醇正丁基醚苯甲酸酯、三丙二醇正丁基醚、TEXANOLTM 2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇单异丁酸酯(田纳西州金斯波特的伊士曼化工(Eastman Chemical))、OptifilmTM Enhancer 400三乙二醇双-2-乙基己酸酯(伊士曼)、柠檬酸三丁酯、和/或如Adamson等人在美国专利公开号2012/0258249A中公开的那些的二醇醚酯化合物。
本发明组合物可进一步包括一或多种如例如氧代硅烷、氨基烷氧基硅烷或环氧基烷氧基硅烷的硅烷。
优选地,一或多种硅烷包含氨基硅烷或二氨基硅烷、或更优选地可水解的氨基硅烷或二氨基硅烷。此类优选的硅烷的实例可包括例如N-乙基氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、氨基乙基氨基丙基甲基二甲氧基硅烷、氨基乙基氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、氨基丙基甲基二甲氧基硅烷、氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷,例如可从密西根州密德兰的道康宁(Dow Corning)、新泽西州皮斯卡塔韦的Hulls of America、或密歇根州艾德里安的Wacker SiliconesCorporation得到的那些。一个实例是以商品名Dow Corning Z-6020销售的氨基乙基氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷。其它合适的硅烷可包括例如低聚氨基烷基硅烷和聚合氨基烷基硅氧烷。
本发明的水性组合物包括水或具有溶解在其中的如甲醇、乙醇和乙二醇醚的低VOC的水混溶有机溶剂的水。水是优选的。
本发明的水性组合物可用于建筑和工业涂料、屋顶涂料、非胶结性砂浆、不透水膜和外绝缘修整系统(EIFS)。各种涂覆方法在本领域是已知的,包括将组合物喷涂到衬底上。其它方法包括通过手使用镘刀、漆刷或漆滚筒涂覆组合物。涂料可以一或多层涂覆。
组合物适合于涂布到如例如木头、金属或工业衬底、建筑衬底和道路的衬底上或在所述衬底上形成薄膜;并发现可用于外绝缘修整系统(EIFS)、通道、跑道、停车区域、以及户内地板(例如在工厂或购物中心中)。典型的建筑衬底包括例如干墙、木头、胶合板、砌圬工、混凝土、水泥、石头、灰墁、瓷砖、及其组合;金属可包括铝、不锈钢、或碳钢;道路包括例如焦油沥青、柏油、砌圬工、混凝土;其它衬底可包括树脂或聚合材料。所有衬底可具有一或多层新鲜的或老化的现有涂料或油漆。

以下实例可说明本发明。
实例中使用的缩写包括:BA=丙烯酸丁酯;MMA=甲基丙烯酸甲酯;MAA=甲基丙烯酸;nDDM=正十二烷基甲基丙烯酸酯;EHA=乙基己基丙烯酸酯;STY=苯乙烯;BMA=甲基丙烯酸丁酯;MPG=单丙二醇;DETA=二亚乙基三胺;DAnMDPA=3,3'二氨基-N甲基二丙基胺。
在实例中还使用:
丙烯酸乳液聚合物A(50wt.%固体,一个阶段,BA/MMA乳液聚合物,Tg(DSC)<5℃);
丙烯酸乳液聚合物B(50wt.%固体,单阶段,酸官能化BA/MMA乳液聚合物,Tg(DSC)~25℃);
丙烯酸共聚物分散剂(陶氏的TamolTM165A,21.50wt.%固体);
磺基琥珀酸二辛酯表面活性剂(陶氏的TritonTMGR-7M,100wt.%固体);
矿物油/二氧化硅消泡剂(德克萨斯州休斯顿的Ashland Chemical的DrewplusTML-475,100wt.%固体);
二醇醚酯聚结剂DPnB己二酸酯(二丙二醇丁基己二酸酯100wt.%固体);以及,
三乙二醇双-2-乙基己酸酯(伊士曼化工的OptifilmTM 400聚结剂)。
用于本发明的晾置时间的添加剂表征于以下表1中:

制品按以下测试:
晾置时间:使用10cm(4")宽的125微米(5mil)方棒将容器中的所示组合物刮涂到Leneta纸(新泽西州莫沃的Leneta Company,Inc.的B#4425纸)上。刮涂结束后,立即将计时器以0分钟开始。用压舌板从纸的边缘刻划两(2)条平行线,并行进1/3的纸长度。将一个刷子(2.54cm尼龙刷,俄亥俄州伍斯特的Wooster Brush Company的Wooster型号4176)浸入组合物中并刷出到废纸上。将具有所示组合物的容器置于天平上。然后,从1分钟时间标记开始然后重复每分钟,将刷子加载从而使得1到2cm(1/2英寸–3/4英寸)的刷子刷毛浸入容器中的组合物中,以便将所需量的0.6-0.7g的组合物保持在刷子上,所述量通过在天平上称量所述容器测定。将加载的刷子顺刮涂的左侧放置并以来回的方式在涂覆的Leneta纸的两条刻划线间刷扫。每个行程记为1(一个来回=2)。每分钟重复这一操作直到完成20个行程;每分钟内的刷涂时间为30秒。每分钟持续这一操作直到目视观察到“失败”。失败意指刷涂后刻划线没有消失。将此类失败的时间记录为组合物的晾置时间。为每个所示实例取这一实验总共三次测试的平均值,并将结果记录为以下表3中组合物的晾置时间。

如以上表3所示,具有本发明的晾置时间添加剂的水性涂料组合物大大地改进了水性组合物的晾置时间。当如在实例1、2和3中那样使用甘油、丙二醇和多胺的聚烷氧基化物时,晾置时间得以特别改进。
将以下表5中的添加剂以制品的总固体重量计以以下表4中所示的量加到下泄槽中,以制造水性油漆组合物。

如以上表5所示,本发明的水性组合物跟如在对比例8和10中的仅含有聚结剂的组合物相比可改进晾置时间。在使用更多晾置时间添加剂的情况下晾置时间会被改进得更多。将实例11,12和13与对比例10对比。
Claims (10)
1.一种水性组合物,其包含(i)一或多种乳液聚合物、一或多种水性分散聚合物或其混合物的水性聚合物组合物,和(ii)以所述组合物中固体的总重计0.1到5wt.%的一或多种聚烷氧基化物,其具有2到15个聚烷氧基链和以所述组合物中聚烷氧基化物固体的总重计20到70wt.%的环氧乙烷(EO)含量。
2.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其中所述(i)水性聚合物组合物为一或多种乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物。
3.根据权利要求2所述的水性组合物,其中所述(i)一或多种乙烯基或丙烯酸乳液聚合物中的至少一种的测量的(DSC)玻璃化转变温度(测量的Tg)为-100到20℃。
4.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其中所述(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物具有式I-[AOnH]f,其中I为含有有机活性氢的化合物;其中AO为环氧烷,其包含环氧乙烷(EO)或者以随机次序与环氧丙烷(PO)和/或环氧丁烷(BO)结合的EO或在具有嵌段,优选具有至少一个EO嵌段的低聚物中的EO;其中n为AO基团的总数并可以在1到50范围内。
5.根据权利要求4所述的水性组合物,其中在所述式I-[AOnH]f中,f在3到10范围内。
6.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其中所述(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物中的至少一种在100kPa下具有280℃到450℃的标准沸点。
7.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其中所述(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物为选自以下的活性氢化合物的聚烷氧基化物:具有3个或更多个羟基的多元醇、双官能氨基醇、二胺、三胺、多胺以及具有3到8个羟基的酚醛树脂。
8.根据权利要求7所述的水性组合物,其中所述(ii)一或多种聚烷氧基化物为二乙醇胺、甘油、季戊四醇、糖醇、二胺或三胺的聚烷氧基化物。
9.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其中所述组合物进一步包含一或多种标准沸点为280℃到450℃的聚结剂。
10.根据权利要求1所述的水性组合物,其进一步包含一或多种填充剂、增充剂和/或颜料,所述颜料包含与一或多种填充剂和/或增充剂组合的颜料。
