Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of electronics, in particular to a board-to-board connector and a socket thereof.
Background
A Board to Board Connector (BTB) is a Connector assembly often used in electronic devices (e.g., mobile phones, tablet computers, etc.), and is used to mechanically and electrically interconnect a main Board of the electronic device and modules (e.g., a display module, a touch module, a camera module, etc.). The method is mainly applied to industries such as electric power systems, communication networks, financial manufacturing, elevators, industrial automation, medical equipment, office equipment, household appliances and military manufacturing. The PCB is usually used for connecting devices such as a display screen, a touch screen and a camera on a mobile phone, and has the function of connection and conduction.
The board-to-board connector consists of two parts, namely a plug and a socket, wherein the plug and the socket are both composed of a plastic insulator and a conductive terminal fixed on the plastic insulator, the plastic insulator mainly plays a role in insulating and positioning the conductive terminal, and the conductive terminal mainly plays a role in conducting.
The board-to-board connector is characterized in that a plug is used in a joint mode with a socket, the socket and the plug are respectively attached to a mainboard of electronic equipment and a circuit board of an electronic equipment module through a surface mounting technology, and the socket and the plug are buckled together in an assembling process, so that the mainboard of the electronic equipment and the circuit board of the electronic equipment module are interconnected.
The protruding island portion in the middle of the socket of board to board connector often is the plastic material, and at the lock in-process of socket and plug, because the assembler aligns plug and socket position not, the lock is forced and is caused the island portion to sink or damaged, and especially both ends of island portion are because of the lock is forced the collapse or damaged more easily, need reprocess, lead to manufacturing cost to increase.
If increase the parcel of metal protection sheet alone at the island portion both ends of socket, then the intensity of metal protection sheet is not enough, directly warp the metal buckle easily when off normal lock, leads to whole board to unable reutilization of board connector, and life is short.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to overcome the problem of short service life in the prior art, the embodiment of the invention provides a socket of a board-to-board connector, which is connected with a plug of the board-to-board connector, wherein the socket comprises an insulator and a terminal fixed on the insulator, the insulator comprises a base part, a wall part and an island part, the wall part and the island part are arranged on the base part, the island part is surrounded by the wall part, and a slot which surrounds the island part and is used for inserting the plug is formed between the wall part and the island part; two end parts of the island part are respectively provided with an end part protection bracket; each end protection bracket comprises a front side gasket covering the front side of the island, a first side gasket extending from the front side gasket to the base part and covering the first side surface of the island, a first side reinforcing sheet extending from the first side gasket to the enclosing wall part, a second side gasket extending from the front side gasket to the base part and covering the second side surface of the island, and a second side reinforcing sheet extending from the second side gasket to the enclosing wall part, wherein the first side surface of the island is opposite to the second side surface of the island; one end of the first side reinforcing sheet, which is far away from the first side gasket, penetrates out of the wall part to form a first side positioning foot part which can be fixedly arranged on a circuit board electrically connected with the socket; one end of the second side reinforcing sheet far away from the second side gasket penetrates out of the wall part to form a second side positioning foot part which can be fixedly installed on a circuit board electrically connected with the socket.
The embodiment of the invention also provides a board-to-board connector, which comprises a socket and a plug which are jointed, wherein the socket is the socket of the board-to-board connector.
According to the socket of the board-to-board connector provided by the embodiment of the invention, the end parts of the island part are protected by respectively arranging the end part protection brackets at the two end parts of the island part, so that the effect of improving the strength of the end part of the island part is achieved, the risk of collapse or damage of the two end parts of the island part caused by forced buckling of the socket and the plug of the board-to-board connector is reduced, the repair rate is reduced, and the production cost is reduced; meanwhile, each end part protection bracket is provided with a first side positioning foot part and a second side positioning foot part which can be fixedly arranged on the circuit board so as to increase the strength of each end part protection bracket, avoid the deformation of each end part protection bracket caused when the socket is buckled with the plug in an offset manner, realize repeated disassembly and assembly, and prolong the service life; simultaneously first side location foot and second side location foot increase the board power of grabbing of socket, improve stability and reliability.
The board-to-board connector provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises the socket and has all the beneficial technical effects of the socket.

Detailed Description
In order to make the technical problems, technical solutions and advantageous effects solved by the present invention more clearly apparent, the present invention is further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and embodiments. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and are not intended to limit the invention.
Referring to fig. 1 and 2, a receptacle of a board-to-board connector, which is engaged with (e.g., snapped together with) a plug (not shown) of the board-to-board connector, includes an insulator 10 and a terminal 20 held on the insulator, where the insulator 10 includes a base 101, a wall portion and an island 102, the wall portion and the island 102 are disposed on the base 101, the island 102 is surrounded by the wall portion, and a slot 103 is formed between the wall portion and the island 102, which surrounds the island 102 and allows the plug to be inserted into the slot 103;
an end protection bracket 30 is provided at each of both ends of the island 102;
each end protection bracket 30 includes a front side pad 301 overlying the front side 104 of the island portion, a first side pad 302 extending from the front side pad 301 toward the base 101 overlying the first side 105 of the island portion, a first side reinforcing sheet 303 extending from the first side pad 302 toward the perimeter wall portion, a second side pad 304 extending from the front side pad 301 toward the base 101 overlying the second side 106 of the island portion, and a second side reinforcing sheet 305 extending from the second side pad 304 toward the perimeter wall portion, wherein the first side 105 of the island portion is opposite the second side 106 of the island portion;
the end of the first side reinforcing plate 303 away from the first side pad 302 penetrates the wall portion to form a first side positioning leg portion 306 which can be fixedly mounted on a circuit board (not shown) electrically connected to the socket, in this embodiment, the first side positioning leg portion 306 can be soldered on the circuit board to realize fixed mounting;
the end of the second side reinforcing plate 305 away from the second side pad 304 extends beyond the wall portion to form a second side positioning leg portion 307 which can be fixedly mounted on a circuit board (not shown) electrically connected to the socket, in this embodiment, the second side positioning leg, 307 can be soldered on the circuit board to achieve fixed mounting.
In this embodiment, the two end protection brackets 30 are symmetrically disposed at both ends of the island 102.
This technical solution protects the front surface 104 of the island at the end of the island by providing a front surface pad 301, protects the first side surface 105 of the island at the end of the island by providing a first side pad 302, and protects the second side surface 106 of the island at the end of the island by providing a second side pad 304;
in this embodiment, the front surface pad 301, the first side pad 302, the first side reinforcing sheet 303, the second side pad 304, and the second side reinforcing sheet 305 of each end portion protection bracket 30 are connected to form an approximate zigzag shape.
Referring to fig. 3 and 4, the wall portion is shaped like a square frame and includes two opposite short side portions 107 and two opposite long side portions connected between the two short side portions 107, the length direction of the island portion 102 is parallel to the length direction of the long side portions, two end portions of the island portion 102 face to one short side portion 107 respectively, of the two long side portions, the long side portion opposite to the first side surface 105 of the island portion is a first long side portion 108, and the long side portion opposite to the second side surface 106 of the island portion is a second long side portion 109; wherein,
the first side reinforcing piece 303 extends from the first side pad 302 to the enclosing wall portion, which means that the first side reinforcing piece 303 extends from the first side pad 302 to the first side long edge portion 108;
the end of the first side reinforcing plate 303 away from the first side pad 302 protrudes out of the wall portion, which means that the end of the first side reinforcing plate 303 away from the first side pad 302 protrudes out of the first side long edge portion 108;
the second side reinforcing piece 305 extends from the second side pad 304 toward the wall portion, which means that the second side reinforcing piece 305 extends from the second side pad 304 toward the second side long edge portion 109;
the end of the second side reinforcing plate 305 away from the second side pad 304 is extended out of the wall portion, which means that the end of the second side reinforcing plate 305 away from the second side pad 304 is extended out of the second side long side portion 109.
Each end protection bracket 30 further includes an end pad 308 extending from the front pad 301 toward the base 101 overlying the end face 110 of the island. In this embodiment, the end face pads 308 are provided to protect the end faces 110 of the island.
The front pad 301, the first side pad 302, the second side pad 304, and the end pad 308 of each end protection bracket 30 are embedded in the island 102. The technical scheme has reasonable design and compact structure, and can save space. In the present embodiment, the first side reinforcing sheet 303 and the second side reinforcing sheet 305 may be partially embedded in the base 101.
Each end portion protection bracket 30 is a metal bent body.
The embodiment also discloses a board-to-board connector, which comprises a socket and a plug which are jointed, wherein the socket of the board-to-board connector is provided with the socket.
