Abstract

Description
本发明是关于牙刷的发明。确切地说，是一种能够更好地清刷牙和牙龈部位的牙刷。这种牙刷的刷毛具有独特的几何横截面。
早期的牙刷由极易获得的天然材料制成。这种牙刷以动物毛特别是野猪毛作为刷毛。这是因为动物毛有较好的柔韧性和吸水性且外形美观。这些天然材料刷毛的横截面呈圆形。
随着人工合成材料的普及，如各种聚合物有机材料，人们试制开发了人工合成刷毛材料。合成刷毛材料与在市场上已深受欢迎的天然刷毛材料非常相似。参见1967年7月26日公开的英国专利第1,076,967号。制造这些合成刷毛的一般方法，是将熔化的合成聚合物经一圆孔挤压成型。
由于本专业技术人员熟练掌握了合成聚合物的挤压技术，于是开始试制一种新的横截面几何图形的刷毛，力图从整体上提高牙刷的性能。例如，1943年4月27日公开的美国专利第2,317,485号涉及这样一种靠刷毛新的外形和特性来提高清刷能力的牙刷。该专利的发明人观察到具有圆形截面的刷毛不能很好地塞入簇孔内，而其它具有规则的几何图形的刷毛，如三角形、正方形、五边形、六边形、七边形、八边形等形状的刷毛则能被更多地塞入到给定的簇孔内。还有，1959年4月10日公布的美国专利第2,876,477号，涉及一种采用正方形、五边形、六边形、七边形、八边形等规则多边形横截面刷毛的牙刷。与美国专利第2,317,485号相反，该专利力图利用这些各侧边均呈凹状的多边形，使刷毛之间的间隙达到最大。另有1967年2月7日公开的美国专利3,032,230号，涉及一种刷毛、刷头和刷柄模压为一体的牙刷。在该专利中指出，最佳的刷毛横截面为至少有两个锐角的多边形。如三角形、偏菱形和四尖星形等。该专利中指出，刷毛的这些外形可对牙齿产生一种摩擦效应。再有，1967年10月3日公开的美国专利第43,344,457号介绍了一种漆刷刷丝，这种刷丝具有良好的拾取和释放涂料的性能。该专利所发明的合成刷丝是锥体形的且其横截面呈十字形。
具有矩形横截面的刷毛是本发明的关键所在。1964年4月17日公开的美国专利第3,214,777号介绍了一种模压塑料牙刷，其刷毛横截面为矩形，每一排相邻的刷毛稍微错开排列。该专利中指出，当矩形刷毛具有扁平的侧边且边缘较薄时则易于横向弯曲而不易于纵向弯曲，这是由刷毛横截面形状所造成的。该专利继续指出，这使你在刷牙时，上下清刷，刷毛显得柔软易弯，内外清刷，刷毛显得紧挺有力。(见第1栏，第11行-第2栏，第28行及第2栏，第16-33行)。该专利采用的不是被塞入簇孔内的常规刷毛材料，而是一种模压刷毛构造形式。这种构造形式是将许多非常薄的梳状压层栓在一起而构成毛刷(见图6和图7)。该专利没有谈及通用刷丝材料的使用。
近来，那种成束固定于牙刷头上传统形式的矩形刷丝已能买到。Dupont Polymers，Wilmington，DE最近已开始在市场上销售注册商标为TYNEX的矩形刷丝。Dupont指出，由于固定刷毛的U型钉插入至簇孔内，所以大多数刷毛可自行以特定的方向定位。Dupont进一步指出，以U形钉方式装配的牙刷，沿刷柄方向其刷毛刚性较强，而从一侧到另一侧方向上则刚性较弱。
这些现有技术资料无一对牙刷头上矩形刷毛采用一种以上定位方向的问题给予指教、启发或建议。这些技术资料也未涉及如何卓有成效地改善牙刷性能，使其能刷净牙齿和牙床部位的问题。而这个问题通过在牙刷的矩形刷毛上采用至少两种定位方向的方法可得以解决。本发明的目的就是要克服现有技术的不足之处，提供一种清刷性能更好的牙刷。以下将阐明本发明的这些和其它一些目的。
本发明提供了一种可以更好清刷牙齿和牙床部位的牙刷。该牙刷包括一个与刷头部件相连接的刷柄部件；以刷毛簇的形式固定于所述刷头部件上的许多刷毛，所述刷毛横截面基本为平行四边形，该四边形夹角一边的长比另一边的宽的长度要长，刷毛簇中大部分刷毛被选择性地取向、使所述刷毛横截面的长边与所述刷柄的中心轴线成一角度。并且刷毛簇具有至少两种不同定向方向的刷毛。在本发明优选实例中，刷头部件由刷尖和刷跟两部分组成。刷尖部分位于距刷柄较远处，刷跟部分则紧靠刷柄。从刷跟部分伸出的矩形刷毛与刷柄轴线平行，从刷尖部分伸出的矩形刷毛与刷柄轴线相垂直。在本发明更优选的实施例中，刷头部件由沿刷毛面周边的外侧部分和被周边包围着的内侧部分组成，外侧部分伸出的刷毛为矩形，其定位方向与刷柄轴线相垂直。内侧部分伸出的刷毛也为矩形，其定位方向与刷柄轴线相平行。
阅读以下几个特别给出带有附图的实施例的说明，能更好地理解本发明。附图中相同的标号代表相似零件。
图1是用于本发明牙刷的、被高倍放大了的矩形刷毛2的横截面图。
图2是本发明的优选牙刷刷头部件12的顶视图。
图3是本发明最优选的牙刷刷头部件12的顶视图。
图4是本发明范围内的一个牙刷实施例。
图5是装有矩形刷毛的单个刷毛簇孔30的显微照片。
图6是4簇×4簇刷毛核芯的示意图，显示了偏转力测定参数。这些参数按照下文中介绍的方法获得，用以表示矩形刷毛的特性。
本文所用术语“矩形刷毛的定位方向”是特指矩刷毛相对于刷柄轴28的横截面定向。当然，矩形是直角平行四边形，它的一条边长于另一条边。申请人将较长的边4称作矩形的长，把较短的边6称作矩形的宽。当一矩形刷毛在牙刷刷头上被定向时，矩形的两条长边4能以相对于刷柄轴线28的任意角度定向。若矩形刷毛2在其长边4与刷柄轴线28相平行的方向上被定向时，则认为刷毛2的定位方向平行于刷柄轴线28。同理，当矩形刷毛2在其长边4与刷柄轴线28相垂直的方向上被定向时，则认为刷毛2的定位方向垂直于刷柄轴线28。其它角度的定向，如15°、30°、45°等也包括在本发明范围内。所采用的两种最佳定位方向，一种是相对于刷柄轴线成0°的方向，一种是与刷柄轴线相垂直的方向。见图2和3所示。
本文中所用术语“刷毛高度”是指从刷毛基座上垂直测得的刷丝从自由端顶端至进入簇孔那一点的长度。
如前所述，当一根横截面为矩形的牙刷刷毛2在长-宽不同方向被弯曲时，会表现出不同的刚性。刷毛沿其长方向弯曲时，如图1运动箭头8所示，所表现出的刚性比沿其与长相垂直的宽方向，如图1运动箭头10所示，要大许多。
成簇的刷毛所表现出的刚性特性与单根刷毛相比有所不同。这是因为相邻的刷毛能相互支撑而保持直立。因此，申请人研究出下面所述采用4簇×4簇刷毛核芯来测定刷毛刚性特性的方法。当刷头沿定向轴线52运动时，能测定出沿长度方向核芯总偏转力。当刷头沿定向轴线54运动时，能测定出沿宽度方向核芯的总偏转力。上述给定的核芯，其圆形簇孔直径为1.70mm，刷毛高度为11mm，簇孔间隔在长度方向上为2.36mm，在宽度方向上为2.13mm。
本文所用术语“偏转力”是指在干刷丝从其正常位置偏转加权平均长度的1/3而产生的反作用力。偏转力可参考国际标准ISO8627：1987(E)进行计算，取5次实验通过栅网的平均值。偏转力以牛顿(N)作为单位。
本发明矩形刷毛的特征在于，当4×4核芯上的所有刷毛以纵向定向时，核芯总纵向偏转力约为大约2牛顿至大约6牛顿，核芯纵向偏转力与横向偏转力的比值在大约1.3∶1至大约1.6∶1范围内。
申请人也注意到保持适当的整体刚性，对确保牙刷良好的感官性能是十分重要的。这个力可通过测定整个牙刷头部的总纵向偏转力来确定。本发明牙刷应具有不大于10牛顿的总纵向偏转力，最好为大约3牛顿至大约6.5牛顿。
申请人发现当在牙刷毛排列形状内，矩形刷毛有两种以上的定位方向时，能极大改善牙刷对牙齿和牙床的清刷效能。没有被理论所束缚，申请人意识到，现有技术中的牙刷采用第一的矩形刷毛定位方向虽得到两种刚性特性，但毫无疑问也有其弱点。即采用单一的矩形刷毛定位方向时，牙刷的功能也具有显著的单向性。这与正确的刷牙要求相矛盾。因为要除去口腔内不同部位的牙垢，刷动方向必须是变化的。例如，只在垂直于刷柄轴线方向上具有刚性的牙刷在清除牙缝的牙斑、牙垢时可能会十分有效，然而因牙刷内、外刷动时呈现的刚性较弱，对牙床部位的清刷相对来说效率不高。
图4显示本发明的一个牙刷实施例。图3所示牙刷由刷柄部件24，刷头部件12和刷颈部件14组成。牙刷沿其刷柄有轴线28。刷颈部件14为本发明可用可不用的特征，许多市售牙刷设有明显的刷颈特征。所发明牙刷还包括众多刷毛26。要采用所知道的现行工艺上的各种方法将刷毛固定于刷头上。例如，热簇丝、粘结、使用U形钉固定等方法。将刷毛簇用U形钉固定在簇孔内是最佳方法，因为实践表明，这种方法可有效地将大多数刷毛与U形钉平行地定向于簇孔内。例如图5所显示的本发明的一个牙刷毛簇，就是采用U形钉固定的方法制成的。这张显微照片证明了U形钉的自动定向效果。U形钉能将大多数刷毛指向明显地固定于簇孔内。在本发明优选实施例中，任何形状的簇孔都能被采用。申请人发现，采用正方形或矩形簇孔可使矩形刷毛定位方向达到最佳效果。
图2显示的是优选牙刷刷头12的推荐实施例。该刷头上有距刷柄24较远的刷尖部分22(图2中阴影部分)和紧靠刷柄的刷跟部分32。刷尖部分22包含几个簇孔30。在簇孔30中，固定U形钉18垂直于刷柄轴线28。当矩形刷毛20以此种方式固定于刷头刷尖部分22时，大多数刷毛的定位方向垂直于刷柄轴线28。刷跟部分也有一些簇孔16。在簇孔16中固定U形钉18′平行于刷柄轴线28，当矩形刷毛20′以此种方式固定于刷头刷跟部分32时，大多数刷毛的定位方向平行于刷柄轴线28。
图3显示的是最优选的牙刷刷头。该刷头有沿着刷毛面周边的外侧部分40(图3中以阴影显示)和被周边部分包围的内侧部分42。外侧部分40有一些簇孔30，在簇孔30中的固定U形钉18垂直于刷柄轴线28。当矩形刷毛20以此种方式固定于刷头外侧部分40的簇孔中时，大多数刷毛的定位方向垂直于刷柄轴线28。内侧部分42中也有一些簇孔44，在簇孔44中的固定U形钉18平行于刷柄轴线28。当矩形刷毛20以此种方式固定于刷头内侧部分42时，大多数刷毛的定位方向平行于刷柄轴线28。
当使用尼龙刷毛材料时，矩形刷毛横截面长度为大约0.102mm至大约0.381mm(最好为大约0.178mm至大约0.254mm)。长∶宽的比值为大约1.25至大约2，最好为大约1.4至大约1.8。此外，矩形尼龙刷毛的高度最好为大约6.35mm至大约13.5mm。再有，刷头上刷尖和刷跟部分矩形刷毛的最佳高度分别是大约9.53mm至大约13.5mm和大约6.35mm至大约11.1mm。
刷毛的截面均为矩形的牙刷是最佳的。
图3所示牙刷实施例具有以下尺寸和特点：
-簇孔直径：1.70mm
-刷尖刷毛：Dupont Polymers，Wilmington，Delaware制造的Tynex牌刷毛。
长度/宽度＝0.229mm/0.152mm。
-刷跟刷毛：Dupont Polymers，Wilmington，Delaware制造的Tynex牌刷毛。
长度/宽度＝0.1905mm/0.127mm
刷尖刷毛高度：靠近刷跟处9.53mm，距刷跟远侧处增大至13.5mm。
刷跟刷毛高度：9.53mm并带有沿刷跟纵轴线的3.18mm“V”形切槽。
尽管图3所示在以上说明的那种牙刷采用了内侧/外侧矩形刷毛定向，但仍能以刷头上刷尖和刷跟为基础将刷毛切成不同的顶部高度。
虽然已对照附图描述了本发明的具体实施例，但是在本发明范围内，这种牙刷可有多种改进的形式。例如，矩形刷毛与其它几何图形的横截面的刷毛混合使用的牙刷也属本发明范围。同理，也可采用其它的刷毛材料，如美国第4,8002,255号专利所述能显示磨损的刷毛，该专利本说明书作为参考文献。另外，倒圆棱边的矩形刷毛也属本发明设计范围。因此本发明包括所附权利要求书范围内所有的实施例。
Claims (20)
1.一种能更好清刷牙齿和牙床部位的牙刷，包括：
(a)一纵长刷柄部件，其中心轴线具有近端和远端；
(b)连接于刷柄部件远端的刷头部件；
(c)以刷毛簇的形式固定于所述刷头部件上的许多刷毛，其特征在于，每一所述刷毛具有基本上恒定的横截面，所述横截面为平行四边形，其夹角一边即长，比另一边即宽的长度长，在给定刷毛簇中大部分的刷毛被选择性的定向，使所述刷毛横截面的长边与所述刷柄的中心轴线形成一个角度，并且刷毛簇具有至少两种不同定向方向的刷毛。
2.如权利要求1所述牙刷，其特征在于：牙刷总纵向偏转力不超过10牛顿。
3.如权利要求2所述牙刷，其特征在于：牙刷总纵向偏转力为大约3至大约6.5牛顿。
4.如权利要求2所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷毛具有两种定位方向。
5.如权利要求4所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷头由距刷柄部件较远的刷尖部分和紧靠刷柄部件的刷跟部分组成，刷尖部分伸出的矩形刷毛其定位方向与刷柄轴线相垂直，刷跟部分伸出的矩形刷毛其定位方向与刷柄轴线相平行。
6.如权利要求5所述牙刷，其特征在于：矩形刷毛的特点在于，当由一组刷毛簇组成的核芯中所有刷毛以纵向定向时，核芯总纵向偏转力为大约2至大约6牛顿，核芯纵向偏转力与横向偏转力的比值在大约1.3∶1至大约1.6∶1范围内。
7.如权利要求6所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷毛材料是尼龙的，矩形刷毛横截面长度为大约0.102mm至大约0.381mm，长∶宽比值为大约1.25至大约2.0。
8.如权利要求7所述牙刷，其特征在于：矩形刷毛横截面长度为大约0.178mm至大约0.254mm，长∶宽的比值约为1.4至1.8。
9.如权利要求7所述牙刷，其特征在于：矩形刷毛高度为大约6.35mm至大约13.5mm。
10.如权利要求9所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷头部件上刷尖部分伸出的矩形刷毛，其高度为大约9.53mm至大约13.5mm，从刷头部件刷跟部分伸出的矩形刷毛，其高度为大约6.35mm至大约11.1mm。
11.如权利要求10所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷毛用U形钉固定在刷头部件上。
12.如权利要求11所述牙刷，其特征在于：矩形刷毛的簇孔形状可选择正方形或矩形。
13.如权利要求12所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷头上所有刷毛，其横截面都是矩形的。
14.如权利要求4所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷头由沿刷毛面周边的外侧部分和被周边包围着的内侧部分组成，外侧部分上伸出的矩形刷毛其定位方向与刷柄轴线相垂直，而内侧部分上伸出的矩形刷毛其定位方向与刷柄轴线相平行。
15.如权利要求14所述牙刷，其特征在于：刷毛材料是尼龙的，矩形刷毛横截面长度为大约0.102mm至大约0.381mm，长与宽的比值为大约1.25至大约2.0。
