Description

Method and device for producing a rod for the tobacco processing industry
Technical Field
The invention relates to a method for producing a rod for the tobacco processing industry, comprising a method for producing a wrapping material strip for rod-shaped articles for the tobacco processing industry.
The invention also relates to a device for producing a rod for the tobacco processing industry and to a filter tip production machine for the tobacco processing industry having such a device.
Background
Recently, so-called Combined Performance filters (CP filters) are known.
Chinese patent application CN258802Y discloses a fluted filter making machine for making cigarette filter rods with diagonally-oriented flutes. In this case, the paper feeding device is doubled on the other side of the frame and a special reel is arranged as paper feeding device, on the upper part of which an embossing device is mounted. The embossing apparatus has a pair of wheels with diagonal groove embossing devices, an air/paper suction guide slot, a plurality of paper guide wheels, and a paper guide slot and an infrared switch. Different embossed channel filter rods can be manufactured. For embossing, the double wheel pair is constructed to be concave-convex.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a method and a device for producing rods for the tobacco processing industry, by means of which so-called combination filter tips can be produced particularly efficiently and particularly accurately, wherein in particular a reliable and precise production is achieved.
The object is achieved by a method for producing a rod for the tobacco processing industry, comprising a method for processing a wrapping material strip for rod-shaped articles for the tobacco processing industry, having the following method steps:
-providing a strip of said wrapping material,
-conveying the wrapping material web in a longitudinal axial conveying direction to an embossing device and
embossing the wrapping material web, wherein the wrapping material web is continuously conveyed at least temporarily during embossing,
the method is further developed in that the embossed wrapping material web is guided between the embossing device and the entry region of the format device in at least two places in succession in the direction of conveyance of the embossed wrapping material web by a respective guide device, wherein a web of material is deposited onto the embossed wrapping material web in the entry region of the format device, and wherein the embossed wrapping material web is deposited onto a further wrapping material web, and wherein the embossed wrapping material web and the further wrapping material web are wound around the web of material by the format device during the longitudinal axial conveyance.
By means of the method according to the invention, it is achieved that the embossed wrapping material web is laid down particularly precisely on the further wrapping material web, so that a particularly accurate strip production is achieved. In this case, complex adjustment of the position of the wrapping material strips relative to one another can even be avoided or at least simplified in some cases.
Preferably, the embossed web of wrapping material is guided laterally at both edges of the embossed web of wrapping material at least in a guide adjacent to or abutting the entrance area of the format device. A particularly precise guidance is thereby achieved without the necessity of providing the embossing depression (deletion).
Furthermore, it is preferred that the embossed web of wrapping material is guided from above and/or below at least in a guide device which adjoins or adjoins the entry region of the format device. By means of a guide from below, a particularly precise gathering of the wrapping material web is also achieved, since sagging of the embossed wrapping material web and thus also the occurrence of waves in the transport direction along the longitudinal axis of the wrapping material web, in particular of the embossed wrapping material web, are avoided. A possible vibration of the wrapping material web during the transport is prevented by a guidance from above.
In this case, the guide means arranged from above preferably lies flush with the contact surface with the wrapping material web between the embossing device or a further guide device or a further point at which the embossed wrapping material web is guided and the format device. The guide means guiding the embossed wrapping material web from below may also be arranged substantially below a line between the embossing means or the further guide means and the format means. This prevents the embossed wrapping material web from being lowered with respect to the embossing, which can occur, for example, if the wrapping material web is deflected with a certain tension around a guide.
Preferably, the further wrapping material web is glued before contacting the embossed wrapping material web, in particular over the entire face, on the side of the further wrapping material web facing the embossed wrapping material web. A particularly secure contact of the two wrapping material strips is thereby achieved. In particular, the wrapping material strips can no longer slip against one another, which results in a particularly high-quality strip.
The further wrapping material strip can be a conventional wrapping material strip which is wound around the strip material in a format device and is correspondingly closed in order to bring the strip material into the shape and to retain it in the shape.
The rod material may be tobacco or filter material, such as filter tow. Furthermore, the strip material may be combined from filter segments. For the production of such strips, reference is made, for example, to EP 1427299B 1, in which filter segments are assembled by means of autonomous functional units which are configured as modules and which form a filter segment assembly machine or form part of a filter maker as a whole, wherein the filter segments are transported in the assembly process transversely to the axis and are subsequently transferred by means of a transfer device into a longitudinal transport motion for transfer into a rod of a rod maker. Thereafter, the rod is guided in the rod maker in the longitudinal axial transport direction and wrapped with the one or more wrapping materials for subsequent cutting into filter rods.
With reference to EP 1625799B 1 for the processing of filter tow, a filter maker of the tobacco processing industry is known, in which a filter rod maker and a filter tow processor are connected to one another in order to form the filter maker as a whole. In this case, the filter tow is drawn off from a filter tow packet, processed in the filter tow processing machine, for example, stretched and sprayed with triacetin, for subsequent transfer to the filter rod maker and formation there of a filter rod, which is wrapped, for example, with a wrapping material. Finally, the respective filter rod is cut from the filter rod.
The object is also achieved by a device for producing a rod for the tobacco processing industry, wherein an embossing device having two embossing rollers is provided, by means of which the wrapping material strip is embossable or embossed during the longitudinal axial transport of the wrapping material strip, the device being improved in that at least two guide devices are provided downstream of the embossing device, which are arranged one behind the other in the transport direction of the embossed wrapping material strip, wherein the rod maker has a transport device having a further guide device for a further wrapping material strip.
The device according to the invention allows a particularly precise production of rods, in particular filter rods, from which filter rods can subsequently be cut off in the tobacco processing industry.
The conveying device of the rod maker can convey the further wrapping material web according to the invention, wherein a deflection wheel for the further wrapping material web can be provided as a further guide device. Preferably, one of the at least two guiding means is adjacent to or abuts on the inlet area of the format device. This results in a particularly precise placement of the embossed wrapping material web on the further wrapping material web, wherein a particularly precise stacking can be achieved even without or with a simplified position adjustment.
Preferably, at least one guide means, particularly preferably adjacent to or abutting on the inlet region of the format device, has a lateral jaw. A particularly accurate position definition of the wrapping material web can be achieved by means of lateral jaws, the distance of which is preferably adjustable and/or presettable. By means of the preferably provided adjustability of the distance between the lateral jaws, wrapping material webs of different widths can be used, so that a rapid adjustability of the guide or of the lateral jaws of the guide is achieved during format change. Preferably, the at least two guide devices each have a lateral jaw.
Preferably, at least one guide means, particularly preferably adjacent to or abutting on the entry area of the format device, has a face which downwardly and/or upwardly defines the movement of the embossed wrapping material web. In this way, a particularly precise guidance of the embossed wrapping material web and thus a particularly precise stacking of the embossed wrapping material web on the further wrapping material web can also be achieved in the direction of the longitudinal axis. Preferably, the at least two guide means each have a face which faces downwardly and/or upwardly to define the movement of the embossed wrapping material web.
Preferably, the surface is curved, particularly preferably circular or oval. Thereby effectively reducing the lowering of the embossed wrapper material web.
Particularly preferred is a variant in which the device according to the invention is designed as a push-in device or as a process unit of a push-in device, wherein the push-in device is or can be mounted between a filter rod maker and a filter tow treatment machine or a filter segment assembly machine for multi-segment filters, wherein the push-in device comprises in particular a feed unit which can be detachably connected to the process unit.
With regard to a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention, reference is made in particular to the applicant's patent application with the file number DE 102011085981 a1 entitled "filter maker in the tobacco processing industry".
By means of the preferred measures, a more flexible filter production than hitherto is possible, since the filter material and/or the wrapping material band can be processed or handled particularly frequently by the pushing device. By providing one or more insertion devices, different processes or treatment processes can also be provided, wherein another type of treatment or treatment can be carried out by exchanging the respective process unit by a further process unit. It is therefore also possible to change from the production of one filter type to the production of another filter type particularly quickly, as a result of which the filter change can be designed particularly efficiently. For example, another type of embossing can be provided particularly quickly on the wrapping material web by this measure. According to the invention, for example, a longitudinal embossing is provided. Of course, other types of embossing can also be provided, which are carried out on the respective insertion device or on a process unit of an insertion device. Furthermore, another packaging material can be processed accordingly or simply with another liquid, also at other process temperatures. For this purpose, for example, only the process unit has to be replaced, which is then connected to the supply unit.
Preferably, one of the at least two guide devices is fixed to a wall of the pushing device, which wall adjoins the filter rod maker, wherein the guide device of the at least two guide devices is arranged toward the rod maker. This makes it possible to at least simply replace the process unit, to be precise with a small number of adaptation measures. In addition, in this way, one of the at least two guide devices can be mounted in particular close to the format device of the rod maker, in particular of the filter rod maker.
Preferably, alternatively or additionally, one of the at least two guide devices is mounted on the rod maker, in particular on an entry cam of the rod maker. The inlet cam is used, for example, to bundle the filter tow into a rod material and to press it together for final deposition onto the embossed band of wrapping material. According to the invention, the filter maker of the tobacco processing industry comprises a device according to the invention, which has the respective aforementioned features.
Further features of the invention are set forth from the description of embodiments according to the invention in conjunction with the claims and the accompanying drawings. Embodiments according to the present invention may satisfy individual features or a combination of features.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a top view of a filter maker according to the invention having a device according to the invention for processing a wrapping material web. The filter maker comprises a filter tow processor 20 and a filter rod maker 40, which are described, for example, in EP 1625799B 1. According to the invention, a pushing device 30 is also provided, by means of which the wrapping material web 33 can be processed according to the invention. The components for processing the wrapping material web 33 are only schematically illustrated in fig. 1 and described in detail below.
In fig. 1, the filter tow treatment machine 20, the push-in device 30 and the subsequent filter rod maker 40 are arranged one behind the other in the conveying direction 100. The arrangement is in this embodiment either front to back flush or in a line. In the filter tow treatment machine 20, the filter tow band 11 drawn off from a filter pack 10 is treated, for example extended, pulled apart and sprayed with triacetin, for subsequent transport through an inlet cam 41 of the filter rod maker 40, after which a format device 42 is connected. In this case, a processing step, for example on the wrapping material web 33, can be carried out by means of the insertion device 30. Additionally, processing steps on the filter tow may also be carried out. The other processing steps on the filter tow are of course not described in detail.
In the embodiment according to fig. 1, for example, a wrapping material web 33 is embossed by means of a first embossing roll 34, which is in engagement with a second embossing roll 35. The processed or embossed wrapping material web 33 then passes into the format device 42 below the filter tow band 11 and below the inlet triangle 41 in the illustration according to fig. 1. The filter tow band 11 is lowered onto the band of wrapping material 33 in the format device 42. The wrapping material strip is then wound around the filter tow band 11 in the format device 42 and a longitudinal slit is closed accordingly by gluing. Alternatively, the wrapping material band 33 may also be wound around the filter tow band 11 in an impact manner (auf Sto beta) and a further wrapping material band, not shown, may be wound around the processed wrapping material band 33 and be closed in a corresponding manner with adhesive. A corresponding CP filter can thus be manufactured by cutting of the corresponding filter rod.
The insertion device 30 is arranged in this exemplary embodiment such that it is divided into a supply unit 31 and a process unit 32. The supply unit 31 is used to supply electric power such as electric current and voltage, compressed air, if necessary, a water cooling system or a heating system using heated water, and a control system. A control device can also be provided in the process unit and, in addition, the device features required or desired for embossing in this case.
As an example of which features may be desired in the respective process unit, fig. 2 is entered below. It is of course also noted that the pushing device 30 can be releasably connected at its respective first side 91 to the filter rod maker 40 and at its second side 92 to the filter tow processor 20. It is also possible to arrange a plurality of pushing devices 30 one behind the other in the conveying direction 100 in order to provide further functional properties for processing the wrapping material band 33 and/or the filter tow. Preferably, only the feed unit 31 is directly connectable to the filter tow processor 20 and the filter rod maker 40. The process unit 32 is only directly connectable to the supply unit 31. In addition, further process units 32 can also be used, with which different embossing methods can be ensured, to be precise, the exchange of different process units 32 can be carried out quickly and easily.
Fig. 2 shows schematically a filter maker according to the invention of the tobacco processing industry, having a filter tow treatment machine 20 which is shown in a particularly schematic manner, a device according to the invention for processing a wrapping material web, which is designed, for example, in the form of a push-in device 30, and a filter rod maker 40 which is also shown in a particularly schematic manner. The filter tow band 11 processed from the filter tow processor 20 is diverted via a pulley 61 above the row of wrapping material bands 33 of the wrapping material band processing device according to the invention and is then threaded or brought into the inlet cam 41 of the filter rod maker.
From a supply device (not shown) of the pushing device 30, or alternatively from a supply device (which may be a reel or a reel changer, for example) of the pushing device 33, a wrapping material web 33 is first diverted via a pulley 60 to a wrapping material web tension adjustment device 55, which is responsible for conveying the wrapping material web at a predefinable tension that is as constant as possible. Downstream of the tension control device 55 for the wrapping material web, a wetting device 50 is connected, in which the wrapping material web 33 is wetted, for example, with water, preferably with a stabilizer, for example methylcellulose. A heating device may be provided upstream and/or downstream of the moistening device 50 for heating the web of wrapping material. The heating means may for example utilize heat radiation or hot air may be used here. In case methylcellulose is used as an additive, e.g. water, the subsequent embossing is more stable. The wetting preferably takes place in such a way that the wrapping material web 33 has a moisture content of from 5 to 13 mass percent, particularly preferably from 7 to 9 mass percent and in particular 8 mass percent, during embossing. The wetting takes place from below, one-sided in fig. 2. Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the wetting takes place from both sides, that is to say from above in addition to the embodiment of fig. 2.
The moistened wrapping material web is then transported in a transport direction 90 via a deflection wheel 60 to an embossing device 36. The embossing device 36 comprises a first embossing roller 34 and a second embossing roller 35, which will be explained in detail below. In this way, a longitudinal axial embossing of the wrapping material web, i.e. an embossing which exhibits a wave shape in cross section transversely to the longitudinal axis of the wrapping material web, is preferably achieved.
The moistening means 50 can also be omitted. The arrangement of the moistening device 50 is of course preferred.
In fig. 2, a heating device 56 is integrated into the embossing device 36, which further heats the wrapping material web, in particular by means of thermal radiation, for example infrared radiation. A heating device may also be provided in one or both embossing rolls 34, 35.
At least one embossing roller, in fig. 2 the first embossing roller 34, is provided with a pendulum device 64 which, in the case of a wrap, enables one embossing roller to be swung out of the other. Two oscillating devices are preferably provided, that is to say one oscillating device 64 for each embossing roller. The embossing rolls 34 and 35 may also be arranged linearly movable. Downstream of the embossing device 36 a spraying device may be arranged in which the embossed web of wrapping material is sprayed with a fluid. A particularly stable embossing can be produced, for example, by spraying with water, to which a stabilizer, in particular methylcellulose, is added. Alternatively or additionally, a pigment may also be applied to the embossed wrapper band 33 and/or to a taste carrier, such as a mint or other additive. It is also possible here to apply glue, for example to provide lines of glue in the filter production and/or glue for connecting the embossed wrapping material band to a further wrapping material band. The thread of glue is used, for example, to bond the band of wrapping material 33 to a filter rod material 11.
Further details of the device and a preferred method for embossing a strip of wrapping material are found, for example, in EP 2620062 a2 and DE 102012215589 a 1. In fig. 2, a drying device 51 is also provided, by means of which the embossed wrapping material web 33 is dried. Downstream of the drying device, a guide device 63 is connected, by means of which in particular a lateral guidance of the packaging material web can be achieved in order to adjust or control or set the lateral position of the packaging material web in such a way, in particular relative to the lateral position of a further packaging material web 52.
The guide means 63 shown in fig. 2 may also be provided downwardly with a depending limitation of the wrapping material strip 33. For example, a base surface can be provided for this purpose, which is schematically illustrated in the sectional view in fig. 2 and is a longitudinally elongated ellipse.
In order to more precisely coordinate the lateral position of the embossed wrapping material web 33 with the lateral position of the additional wrapping material web 52, in particular, an additional guide 63' is provided, which is preferably fastened to an outer wall or an outer support, which is coordinated or aligned with the first side 91 of the pushing device 30. A defined position of the second guide 63' is thereby provided, which is adjacent to the format device 42 or in or adjoins the inlet region of the format device 42. In particular, this enables a particularly precise guidance of the embossed wrapping material web 33.
The embossed wrapper material strip is then laid down on a further wrapper material strip 52 in the rod maker 40 and subsequently wrapped around the filter tow band 11 in a format device, not shown.
The wrapping material web 52 is glued on the adhesive side 53 by means of a gluing device 54. A reliable connection of the wrapping material strip 52 to the embossed wrapping material strip 33 is thereby obtained. The wrapping material web 52 is correspondingly deflected by means of the deflecting roller 62.
Fig. 3 schematically shows a top view of the guide 63'. A guide body 70 in the form of a cylinder is provided which can be mounted with a retaining device, for example, on the wall of the first side 91 of the pushing-in device 30. Two jaws 71, 72 are arranged on the guide body 70, which are displaceable in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the guide body and can be fixed, for example, by means of screws 73, 74. The guide body 70 can be configured not only as a cylinder but also as an ellipse.
As can be seen in fig. 2, the upper side of the diverting wheel 62 is flush with the upper side of the guide body 70 and the embossing rollers 34 and 35. It is thereby avoided that a stress is exerted on the embossed wrapping material web 33 via the guide body 70, by means of which stress embossing may be reduced again.
In the region between the format entrance of the striping device 40 and the embossing device 36, the embossed wrapping material strip is held as stress-free as possible by means of the tension control device 65. Possible guiding devices for the wrapping material web between the embossing device and the format inlet of the striping device 40 should also guide the wrapping material web as stress-free as possible.
Suitable as the wrapping material strip is paper, in particular crepe paper.
The embossing rollers have a corresponding geometry, for example in the form of a female die and a male die, which are substantially complementary in shape to one another. They allow the wrapping material web to be incompletely clamped during embossing (einquetschen), but should leave free the area for rotation. The roll circumferences should not have a common distribution pattern (Teiler) to prevent wear patterns.
The gap size of the inlet fingers of the format device of the rod maker should be slightly larger than the usual threads when producing filters with at least partially embossed wrapping material bands in order to avoid flattening of the embossing.
The invention minimizes the play of the embossed wrapping material web through a further wrapping material web. For this purpose, a corresponding guide device is provided, which is configured at the outlet of the embossing device or at the outlet of a pushing device or a process unit of a pushing device and is adjacent to or adjacent to a format device of a rod maker.
The invention has been explained above with reference to a single-track rod making machine. For a two-or more-rail rod maker, it is possible, for example, to use wider embossing rollers and to emboss a wrapping material web corresponding to two or more times the width of one rod. After embossing, the wrapping material web can be cut into two or more webs in the longitudinal direction and fed to the respective strips. Prefabricated, that is to say precut, wrapping material can also be processed. A plurality of guide devices can also be provided in a multi-track rod making machine.
All the aforementioned features, as well as features which can be taken only from the drawings, and also features which are disclosed in combination with other features, are considered to be the gist of the present invention, both individually and in combination. Embodiments according to the present invention may satisfy individual features or a combination of features.
