Abstract
Se recurre al uso de cubiertas en desuso por desgaste de las ruedas neumáticas que utilizan los grandes vehículos y máquinas requeridas en las explotaciones mineras; elaborándose realizaciones aptas para actuar en la contención y protección de aludes de tierra en cerros, estabilización de zonas, cauces por crecimientos de ríos y control de zonas por erosión, donde se combinan cubiertas enteras, con unidades de menores dimensiones que se obtienen mediante cortes de sección transversal en planos verticales sobre dichas cubiertas enteras, todas las cuales se disponen ligadas entre sí por ataduras con cable, conformando hiladas escalonadas que también se ligan entre sí para constituir estructuras monolíticas con gran capacidad de resistencia mecánica. Se distinguen porque entre las hiladas de cubiertas que conforman el gavión atraviesan barbacanas tubulares (2) que se proyectan hacia fuera desde la montaña (M) que se protege, incluyéndose la presencia de jabalinas de fijación aguzadas (J), a las que se vincula el cuerpo del gavión, por medio de cables tensores. Las jabalinas son perfiles longiformes de hierro o madera con un extremo de fijación aguzado y un extremo libre opuesto, portador de un medio de amarre para los cables tensores que las vincula con el cuerpo del gavión.
