Abstract

For carrying out the continuous extrusion process, by means of a single-screw extruder, of films of plastic material, the powdered plastic material, in particular rigid PVC mixed with stabilisers and slip agents, is introduced into the extruder. A ring (3) provided with calibrated holes (4, 5) which impede, i.e. retard, the flow of plastic material after it has been compressed and homogenised, is inserted in the path of the plastic material in the extrusion screw, in order to plastify it without having to raise the temperature. <IMAGE>
