Description

The invention relates to a transport container consisting of a pallet and a holder placed thereon with two end walls which can be folded inwards onto the pallet bottom.

A transport container of this type is e.g. known from CH-PS 522 538. However, this transport container has a complicated structure and is correspondingly expensive to manufacture. It is not very flexible in use and, in particular, cannot be adapted to the size of the load.

The object of the invention is to create a transport container in which the disadvantages of the known solution are avoided. According to the invention, this is done in such a way that the end walls of the holder can be displaced towards and away from one another in the longitudinal direction of the pallet, for this purpose each end wall is provided with rails directed against the center of the pallet and guided in longitudinal grooves of the pallet bottom, and that the rails are firmly attached to a holder part are arranged, on which in turn the end wall is pivotally and fixably attached.

The transport container according to the invention can be easily adapted to the volume of the cargo by correspondingly moving the end walls. By extending the end walls beyond the ends of the pallets, the volume can be increased significantly compared to conventional rigid frames, since the loading area is then larger than the pallet area. For empty transport, the end walls can be folded inwards in a few simple steps and without great effort. The empty transport containers can then either be stacked on top of each other or placed next to each other and only require a small storage or transport volume.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the end walls are provided with extendable end wall extensions. The height of the transport container can then be adapted to the load.

The transport container shown in the drawings consists of a standardized wooden pallet 1, on which a holder provided with two end walls 2 is placed. Each end wall 2 is made of hollow metal profiles with a square cross section. The end wall could also be made of plastic profiles. Two vertical supports 3 of the end wall 2 can be pivoted and locked together with two foot parts 4 designed as plug-in guides, which in turn are welded to an angle piece 5.

The foot parts 4 form a guide for the lower ends of the carrier 3, which are inserted into the foot parts 4. The ends of the carrier 3 are held firmly in their vertical position by the walls 6, 7 of the foot parts 4 and by the two rear guide plates 8 inside the foot parts 4.

Each foot part 4 has a hinge pin 9 which projects into a longitudinal groove 10 in the carrier ends.

To fold down the end wall 2, it is first raised slightly, which is easily possible due to the longitudinal grooves 10. Then the end wall 2 can be placed on the inside of the pallet floor, wherein it is pivoted about the two pivot pins 9. The space 11 between the two guide plates 8 creates enough space so that the carrier ends can be turned off. As a result of the lifting of the end wall 2, the support ends are no longer supported by the low wall pieces 7 of the foot parts 4, so that they can be pivoted inwards, but not outwards, through the cutout 12 of the foot parts 4.

On the angle piece 5, two horizontal rails 13 projecting inwards, protruding towards the center of the pallet, are welded, which are guided in corresponding longitudinal grooves 14 between the individual floor boards 15 of the pallet 1.

To mount the holder on the pallet 1, the two end walls 2 are placed on the pallet base, the rails 13 coming to lie in the grooves 14. Now a crossbar 16 is attached to the front ends of the rails 13 by means of screws 25 from below. Each end wall 2 can now be moved inwards or outwards on the pallet 1, the wooden blocks 17 of the pallet 1 forming the two end stops for the crossbeam 16 during the displacement, and limiting the length of the displacement path.

In addition to the two hollow beams 3, the end wall 2 has two cross struts 18 and two further vertical struts 19. An end wall extension 20 is telescopically inserted into the hollow beams 3 and the hollow struts 19. It can be pulled out to match the height of the goods being transported and e.g. can be locked at a certain height using locking pins or notches. In the present version, the normal loading height is 100 cm and the loading height when the bulkhead extension is fully extended is 180 cm.

The end walls can be adjusted to the load by simply pushing them, which is a great advantage especially for mixed goods. In the present exemplary embodiment, the end walls can be pulled outwards up to 25 cm beyond the pallet ends, so that the loadable floor area is larger than the floor area of the pallet. As soon as the pallets are loaded, the load exerts pressure on the end walls. This pressure causes the front ends of the rails 13 to be pulled up, which in turn causes the crossbars 16 to be pressed against the underside of the pallet boards 15. As a result, the end walls 2 are locked in their respective positions.

For the lateral holding of the goods to be transported, chains 21 can be provided which are fastened to the carriers by means of rings 22, whereby the position of the chains can be displaced in height. The free end of each chain has a hook 23 which can be hooked into a chain link of the opposite end wall or into this itself when tensioned. A spring 24 is expediently arranged between the fastening end of the chain 21 and the ring 22, so that the chain can be elastically braced. 5 In summary, the transport container described above has many advantages.

It is relatively cheap and easy to manufacture and can be easily placed on a pallet, e.g. an SBB standard range can be installed. To do this, simply place the Stiralo walls on the pallet and screw the crossbeams to the rail ends.

When empty, the transport container is very space-saving. The side panels can be easily folded without much effort and the empty containers can be stacked on top of or next to each other. They need little space both during transport or in the warehouse.

The movability of the end walls means that the volume of the load can be adjusted continuously. The loads are then compact and the goods are protected during transport. The height of the transport container can also be adapted to the load. Due to the clamping effect of the crossbeams during loading, the transport container is very stable.

The transport container is designed to be work-friendly and allows efficient handling.
