Description
Aufblasbare Verbandschiene

Inflatable bandage splint
The invention relates to an inflatable bandage splint as it has become known in particular for first aid after accidents. Such a bandage splint generally consists of one or more longitudinal air cushions, which are applied and inflated over broken limbs for splinting.
Such quick bandages were originally made from rubber sheeting or from rubber-coated cotton fabric. Because of their elasticity, rubber foils alone do not give the bandage the desired stiffness, and rubber-coated cotton fabric was relatively heavy and unwieldy. It has therefore already been proposed to use plastic films that can be easily processed by welding; If transparent soft PVC was used, the dressing was indeed transparent or at least translucent, but mostly lost this property in a short time due to soiling.
According to the invention, however, an inflatable bandage splint is proposed which consists of a polyamide or polyester fiber fabric which is coated with rubber or plastic. The fabric used should preferably be thin and light, and hygienically impeccable.
Such a bandage splint is not only lighter and therefore more practical, but also mechanically stronger than a splint made of pure film and, in particular, has improved cold resistance compared to quick bandages made of PVC, which is of great importance for injuries and their splinting in winter sports areas. If the light synthetic fiber fabric is to be coated with plastic, a thin layer of a plastic mixture known per se and provided with cold-resistant plasticizers can be used, which would be too expensive for the production of a bandage from film and would not be of sufficient effect due to the greater wall thickness.
PATENT CLAIM
Inflatable bandage splint, characterized in that it consists of polyamide or polyester fiber fabric which is rubber or plastic coated.
