Description
Apparatus for the preparation of infant foods
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the automatic preparation of infant foods, particularly intended for clinics and nurseries.
The preparation of infant foods, that is to say the mixing at a given temperature of boiled water and powdered food substance as well as the filling of baby bottles, have hitherto been manual operations. The scarcity of specialized and trusted personnel makes this routine work relatively expensive and the apparatus according to the invention aims to carry it out automatically in establishments of a certain size.
It is characterized by the fact that it comprises a mixer-doser supplied, on the one hand, by at least one reservoir of powdered food substance, on the other hand by a hot water accumulator equipped with a level probe connected to a filling valve, said accumulator itself being supplied by a sterilization boiler equipped with a temperature probe connected to a relay timer, and by the fact that said relay timer is inserted in the circuit between said level probe and said accumulator filling valve.
The appended drawing shows schematically, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
In the drawing, the bottle 1 to be filled is placed under the outlet of a mixer-doser device 2. This is of a known type, such as, for example, that described in German patent No. 1226814. This mixer-doser receives , on the one hand, a powdered food substance contained in a tank 3, on the other hand hot water from an accumulator 4. The tank 3 is provided with a feed mechanism such as that described in the German utility model No 1870789. The accumulator 4 is connected to the mixer-metering device 2 by a main line 5, in the path of which a pump 6 and a valve 7 are arranged. A return line 8 connects the line 5, upstream of valve 7, at the top of accumulator 4.
A control not shown, because not forming part of the invention, and of a type moreover known, is able to engage at the desired moment and for the necessary duration the mixer-metering device 2, the feed mechanism of the reservoir 3 and valve 7.
The hot water accumulator 4 receives sterilized water from the boiler 9 through the filling valve 10. It is equipped with a level probe 11, a temperature probe 12 and a heater. and / or cooling 13. The level sensor 11 is connected to the filling valve 10 via a relay timer 20. The temperature sensor 12 is connected to the heating and / or cooling device 13.
The sterilization boiler 9, placed above the hot water accumulator 4, is provided with a temperature sensor 15 and a heating device 16. It receives running water from the network through the valve 17, the flow-limiting diaphragm 18 and the filter 19. The level probe 14 is connected to the filling valve 17. The temperature probe 15 is connected to the heater 16 and to the relay timer 20, itself inserted in the circuit between the level sensor 1 1 and the filling valve 10.
The operation of the device is as follows:
The pump 6 runs continuously and when the valve 7 is closed, the hot water which the pump draws from the bottom of the accumulator 4 returns through line 8.
When the operator wishes to fill the bottle 1, she actuates the control which activates the mixer-doser 2 as well as the supply mechanism of the reservoir 3. The control also causes the opening of the valve 7 so that the pump 6 delivers in the dosing mixer 2.
The temperature of the water in the accumulator 4 is maintained at a constant temperature (approximately 400 ° C.) by the slaving of the heating and / or cooling device 13 to the temperature probe 12. The temperature of the water in the boiler sterilization temperature 9 is maintained at approximately 900 C by slaving the heating device 16 to the temperature probe 15. When the temperature of 900 C is reached, the temperature probe 15 starts the relay timer 20 and the latter only transmits the indications of the level sensor 1 1 of the accumulator after 5 minutes. If the level in accumulator 4 drops, level sensor 11 can only control the opening of valve 10 for filling accumulator 4 if the water in the boiler has been maintained at 900 C for 5 minutes at less.
This device practically ensures the sterility of the water used for the preparation of infant food.
Finally, when the level drops in the boiler 9, the level sensor 14 causes the opening of the valve 17. The running water from the network passes through the filter 19, the diaphragm 18 and fills the boiler 9. When the necessary level is reached, the level sensor 14 causes the valve 17 to close and stops filling.
As the introduction of cold water lowers the temperature in the boiler 9, the temperature probe 15 causes the relay timer to be reset to zero. This will only restart when the temperature in the boiler has again reached 900 C. When this temperature has been maintained for at least 5 minutes, the indications of the level probe 11 will be transmitted to the valve 8 to cause, if necessary, the filling of the accumulator 9 with sterilized water.
The embodiment described has been described only by way of example and variants are possible without departing from the scope of the invention.
The temperature and duration of heating in the boiler will be adapted to local conditions and to the purity of the water supplied by the network.
Instead of having a single device for heating and / or cooling the water contained in the accumulator, the functions can be separated, heating being provided by a coil and cooling by circulating air around the tank. accumulator for example.
