Description
Conveyor roller with conical bearing, especially for runways and conveyor systems
The invention relates to a support roller with a conical bearing, in particular for runways and conveyor systems, which support roller consists of a pipe section with bearing supports inserted on the end faces for receiving roller bearings, stationary bearing journals or a stationary bearing axis and disks attached to it to close off the bearings and bearing supports. In known bearings of this type, the bearing brackets are made of sheet metal. The production of such bearing brackets is relatively expensive and on the other hand such bearing brackets are sensitive to corrosion, which is particularly disadvantageous where conveyor systems are operated in an environment which favors the corrosion of the bearing brackets.
The support roller according to the invention of the type mentioned at the beginning is characterized in that each bearing carrier is made of plastic and the outer bearing ring of the roller bearing is conical and lies in a groove formed in the bearing carrier. A conical bearing designed according to the invention has significant advantages over the known ones. Due to the fact that the bearing supports are made of plastic, the bearings are particularly suitable for operations in which they come into contact with moisture, acids or alkaline liquids.
The bearing brackets can use the bearing journals or
Surround the bearing axis with little play and have an annular sealing lip which rests in a sealing manner on the bearing journal or the bearing axis.
According to one embodiment, the cover disks attached to the bearing journals or the bearing axis or to the bearing cones seated thereon are made of plastic. If the cover disks are also made of plastic, effective labyrinth seals can be produced at no cost, and in such a form that access to the storage space behind the labyrinth seals is not hindered. It can therefore be provided that axially directed projections are integrally formed on the bearing carriers and the cover disks in such a way that the interlocking projections of the two parts form one or more labyrinth seals.
Furthermore, a grease nipple or an opening for receiving the grease nipple can be molded into the cover disks. The nipple can be arranged in such a way that the pressed-in fat can be fed to the storage room by the shortest possible route. This space can also be kept small in terms of its dimensions.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing, which shows a longitudinal section through one end of a support roller, which is mounted on a stationary continuous shaft with a bearing.
In the drawing, the tube section forming the roller is denoted by 1. Disc-shaped bearing brackets 2 made of plastic are used therein, which have a cup-like part 3 protruding into the interior of the support roller and a cylindrical part 4 for fastening and centering the bearing brackets in the pipe section 1. The cylindrical parts 4 have a stop 5 at the outer end, which fixes the bearing carrier in the axial direction, and are stiffened by ribs 6 which attach to the conical side wall 7 of the cup-shaped part 3. The groove of the roller bearing 9 receiving the outer bearing ring 8 is molded into this wall. The ring 8 is conical and exchangeable.
The part 3 of the bearing carrier has an opening 10 for the axis 11 to pass through and forms a sealing lip 12 along the circumference of this opening, which rests against the circumference of the axis 11 in a sealing manner.
A bearing cone 13, which forms the inner running surface of the balls 9 of the rolling bearing, is screwed onto each end of the axle 11. A cover 14, which is also made of plastic, sits firmly on the bearing cone 13. On this annular projections 15, 16 and 17, 18 are formed. The bearing bracket 2 likewise has annular projections 19 and 20, which slide into the spaces between the projections 15, 16 and 17, 18, respectively. In this way, two labyrinth seals are formed which prevent the grease from escaping from the storage space 21. A grease nipple 22 is molded into the disk 14, through which the space 21 can be supplied with grease.
