Description

Base rail for covering the wall strips close to the floor of living rooms The known base rails for covering the wall strips close to the floor of living rooms are made of solid material, preferably natural wood.

More recently, one has gone over to providing their visible surfaces with a glued plastic mate rial, preferably a rubber-elastic PVC thermoplastic material, which has the advantage of a certain resilience and gives greater freedom in terms of color design.

It is also there by possible to produce the base body from cheap filling material. However, in these latter embodiments, the disadvantage has arisen that these bases can no longer dispense with the moisture contained in them and in any case inevitable in new buildings because of the airtight cover, so that the wood suffocates and tends to form mold.

According to the present invention it is now provided that the base rail is designed as a profile shell which, after attachment, covers an air-containing cavity at the angle between the wall and the floor area.

Such a profile shell can advantageously be made in any length by pulling thermoplastic Kunststoffma material.

Preferably, horizontal support webs are from its vertical front wall against the open rear, d. H. directed against the wall surface of the room.

In special cases, i. H. In the case of very smooth wall and floor surfaces of the room, in order to nevertheless ensure sufficient air circulation in and out of the cavity formed behind the profile shell, it may be necessary to close the edges adjoining the wall or floor surface with small recesses Mistake. Most of the time, however, this will not be necessary.

The base rails according to the invention are also suitable for covering installation lines laid over plaster from the floor edge.

Embodiments and application examples of the base rails according to the invention are shown in the drawing.

It shows: Fig.l a partially sectioned base arrangement in; a room corner, Fig. 2-7 possible profile variants. In all figures, 1 curved profile shells made of drawn PVC thermoplastic material are identified,

which each have an upper end edge 11 resting on the room wall surface W and an end edge 12 resting against the bottom surface B and are curved or curved between these two end edges.

From the front wall 10 of these profile shells he stretch horizontal support webs 13, 14 also against the wall surface W.

According to Fig. 1 and Figs. 4-7, such profile shells with pins S at the level of the support webs can be attached to the wall. 1 also shows how such profile shells are angled in the corners of the room after angles have been cut out in a miter, the abutting edges g being able to be thermally welded.
