Description
Nipagin (Marken prod. ukt) 0, 1 Dest.
It is already known to incorporate skin applications, such as creams and lotions, to promote blood circulation in the skin, such as campers, various essential oils and esters of nicotinic acid. It has been shown, however, that the agents mentioned quickly bring about an increase in the blood circulation in the skin, but this effectiveness only lasts for a short time and often temporarily reaches an undesirable level.
It has now been found that # surprisingly, a mild, a. Long-term improvement of the local skin blood flow can be achieved if, in place of esters of nicotinic acid, the free nicotinic acid or salts of nicotinic acid are used in a relatively low concentration. It was found that the nicotinic acid or its salts are expediently used in the form of an aqueous solution with a pu value between 5.0 and 6.8 and this solution is a skin cream of the type of a bl-in-water emulsion as the outer one continuous phase is incorporated.
Tests have also shown that the effectiveness of such a preparation as a skin care agent can be increased by adding the concentrates of highly unsaturated fatty acids (linolenic acid) known as vitamin F.
The invention relates to a process for the production of a skin cream which promotes blood circulation in the skin, which is characterized by the fact that an ointment base does not exceed 1 / 10o / oo nicotinic acid, calculated on the weight of the cream, or the corresponding amount of a water-soluble salt of nicotinic acid is added in aqueous solution.
As nicotinic acid salts such. B. alkali metal salts are added. An amount as small as 0.01 g of nicotinic acid per 100 g of the ready-to-use cream has proven to be effective.
Example A suitable composition of a cream of the oil-in-water type is the following: Lanette wax N 2, 5 parts by weight of soft mineral wax from
Melting point 35-40 C 8, 0 Vaseline oil 6, 0 Vitamin F 1, 5 Nicotinic acid 0, 01 Buffer solution, p = 6 10, 0 Preservative, e.g. B.
Nipagin (brand prod. Ukt) 0, 1 dist. Water to 100, 0
The lanette wax and the oily components are heated in the water bath to around 70 C and mixed. On the other hand, the nicotinic acid is dissolved in the water, the solution is carefully heated to around 70 C and the buffer solution and the nipagin are added. The aqueous solution is gradually added to the melt with stirring, the whole is stirred until a homogeneous emulsion is obtained, and the product is expediently filled into tubes.
