Description

Drip catcher for bottles.
When filling glasses from bottles, drops always fall either directly from the bottle mouth onto clothes, tablecloths, etc., or they run down the neck of the bottle. The drip catchers available to date are unsatisfactory. Either it is a special spigot that you put into the bottle mouth instead of the usual cork spigot, or sponge-like rings that you slide over the neck of the bottle, or finally, a special design of the bottle.
Drip pegs cannot be used, for example, for wine bottles, especially in restaurants, hotels, etc., because the wine flows out too slowly and the guest perceives direct contact between the wine and the cork or drip stopper as unsanitary.
Sponge-like rings, on the other hand, can at most stop the drops that run down the bottle neck, but not those that fall directly from the bottle mouth onto the clothes.
The present invention relates to a drip catcher for bottles, which according to the invention has a tongue-like projection which extends obliquely upward and which has to catch the drops falling from the bottle mouth. This projection can be attached to a resilient clamp which only needs to be pressed against the bottle neck in order to automatically clamp around the same. Expediently, elastic material, such as, for example, rubber, can be attached to the inside of the clamp so that the clamp closes tightly around the bottle neck.
The tongue-like projection can, however, also simply be attached to an elastic ring, for example a rubber ring, which can be pulled over the bottle neck and also closes tightly.
The elastic ring can also consist of a wire spiral. The drip catcher can be made of metal, rubber or synthetic resin.
Advertising texts can be added to its outer surfaces.
The drip catcher is attached directly under the collar of the bottle neck.
A piece of absorbent material, for example blotting paper, can be attached to the inside of the projection in such a way that it can be replaced again and again.
In the drawing shows:
Fig. 1 is a wine bottle, on the neck of which a drip catcher is attached, which is an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of the drip catcher and
3 shows a top view of the drop catcher with clip. li Here the tongue, i.e. the projection 1, is carried by the clamp 2.
