Description

Plastic container.
The present invention relates to a plastic container comprising a tubular wall, an emptying neck and a filling opening, characterized in that the neck is sealed and has at its end a part of generally frustoconical shape having a peripheral bead. at its base, the axis of this bead determining a plane perpendicular to the axis of the container, this frustoconical part being intended to be cut to constitute a houchon used to seal the part of the neck remaining attached to the tubular wall.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the container which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view, and
fig. 2 is another cross-sectional view thereof, part of the neck being cut out and used as a stopper.
The container shown, made of plastic, has a tubular wall 1, a sealed neck 2 and an opening 3 for filling it; the latter is intended to be closed by welding when the container is full.
The neck 2 has at its end ime part 4 of generally hollowed out frustoconical shape, having at its base a peripheral bead 5; the axis thereof determines a plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 6 of the container.
The container shown, made of a plastic material such as polyethylene, is used as follows:
The product to be preserved such as mustard, tomato paste, etc., is introduced through the opening 3, the edges of which are then closed by welding; then when said product is to be used, part 4 of neck 2 is cut, with a knife or razor blade, along line 7 limiting bead 5; this part 4 is used to seal, between the emptying operations, part 8 of the neck 2 remaining attached to the wall 1.
After filling the container shown, the product contained therein is completely isolated and protected from air and can therefore be stored for a very long time without spoiling; this container can withstand high pressure and can, when filled, be sterilized with hot water under pressure and at a temperature exceeding one hundred degrees.
REVFhrI) ICATION:
Plastic container comprising a tubular wall, an emptying neck and a filling opening, characterized in that the neck is leaktight and has at its end a part of generally frustoconical shape having a peripheral bead at its base, the axis of this bead determining a plane perpendicular to the axis of the container, this frustoconical part being intended to be cut to constitute a bou
