Description
Braided strand for tubular furniture and itorb goods. The subject of the invention is a braided strand which is intended for the production of tubular furniture and wickerwork. It is known to use plant fiber cords such as paper or seaweed cords as a substitute for sea tube and willow material.
With this substitute material, it was not possible to produce a solid, load-bearing network for furniture without using sea pipe or willow material as a stand.
If, however, a steel wire or other metal wire is used as the core (core), it is possible to use a wide variety of vegetable fiber materials to produce solid braided strands.
Those braided strands that have only a single, but relatively strong wire as a core have proven to be useful for stand-up displays. For the actual braiding, however, it is appropriate to use braided strands with a wire core consisting of several wires, depending on the purpose and execution of the braid.
The braided strand according to the invention can also consist of two or more cords, which results in a particularly solid braided material. It is advisable to impregnate the wrapping made of vegetable fiber material against moisture, which is particularly appropriate when using paper as wrapping material. By varnishing the wrapping in different ways, beautiful braid patterns and decorations can be produced.
In the drawing, three exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown: Fig. I shows a piece of a braided strand with a solid wire as the core.
A means the wire core, B the s-helical-shaped wrapping strip, made of vegetable fiber material.
FIG. II shows a piece of a braided strand with wire strands as the core.
A denotes the core consisting of many individual wires. Rust-free material is recommended, as otherwise the durability of the plant fiber wrapping will be severely impaired. The enveloping strips made of plant fiber material are denoted by B.
Fig. III shows a piece of a braided string that is twisted together from two cords.
The cores made of wire strands are denoted by A. B is a simple wrap around tape made of vegetable fiber. C are two wrapping tapes next to each other, also made of vegetable fiber material. The finished braided strand, twisted together like a rope, is eaten.
