Description
Electric tube. The subject of the present invention is an electric fluorescent tube that can be used for example for advertising purposes and contains mercury in addition to a noble gas filling. There are already known fluorescent tubes which, in addition to a filling of neon, argon and krypton gas, also have mercury as an additive which increases the luminosity. However, up until now these tubes have been colored brown so that the light emanating from the fluorescent tube appears green.
In order to obtain a white luminous noble gas tube with the same filling, the tube according to the present invention has a translucent part made of yellowish to greenish glass, wel cher is at least partially provided with a coating of translucent material of a different color, for example white opal glass . The part made of yellowish to greenish colored glass and the coating can be tubular. The two tubes can lie loosely one inside the other or be fused to one another, whereby the tube, which consists for example of white glass and forms the coating, can lie inside or outside.
Instead of a coating of white, for example milk white, glass, an inner yellowish to greenish colored tube part could be covered with a transparent plastic of a suitable color. The yellowish to greenish colored part of the fluorescent tube can also be only partially covered with white glass, for example.
