Description

Electric hand-held device for drying out damp wall surfaces, for softening old paintwork and for burning off damaged wallpaper. The present invention relates to an elec trical hand-held device for drying out damp wall surfaces; to soften old paintwork and to burn off damaged tapestries. According to the invention, the device has a body to be heated, acting by thermal radiation, made of ceramic material, for the heating of which heating coils are provided, which are arranged completely closed to the outside in said body.

In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is illustrated, namely: FIG. 1 shows a side view with partial section, FIG. 2 shows a plan view with partial section, FIG. 3 shows a cross section according to a-b in FIG.

A body c made of ceramic material sits in a box g equipped with a handle l and shaft k : in channels d of this body c, the heating coils e are completely sealed off from the outside and connected to one another, are stored. The current is supplied by means of a cable i, which goes through the handle l and the shaft k and which leads with its two wires il and i2 to the terminals p1 and p '.

The latter are insulated by mica plates s and secured in a partition h of the box g and are also connected to the ends e 'and e' of the heating coils e.

The body c rests in the box g on two lateral strips g1 and g 'and is supported with its reinforcing ribs f at the top against the box y.

The part of the box g which houses the power supply is completely closed off from the outside by a slide 2n. A lid n at the rear end of the box g prevents the body c from sliding out of the latter; this cover n is insulated from the body c.

As a result of the completely protected rescue of the heating coils e in the body e and the closure of all current-carrying parts in the box y by the slide m, the läerii, tes will be contaminated by lime, paint or paper particles falling from the surfaces to be processed, Likewise, a short circuit that occurs when these are added to the heating coils is reliably avoided.
