Abstract
Une pièce de charpente composite et une configuration de ces pièces sont construites pour fournir une cellule de sous-plancher polyvalent réagissant aux charges de vol, de manutention et de cargaison interne et capable d'absorber l'énergie lorsqu'elle est soumise à des charges de compression verticales, comme des charges pouvant être appliquées dans des situations d'atterrissage dur et d'écrasement. La pièce de charpente composite et la configuration de telles pièces n'ajoutent pas de masse parasite à l'aéronef, c'est-à-dire qu'il n'est pas nécessaire d'ajouter d'autres systèmes, structures ou mécanismes d'absorption d'énergie, et la pièce de charpente est plus légère que le métal. La pièce de charpente composite et les parties connexes de la configuration sont conçues pour progressivement s'affaisser pendant la course (ou le déplacement) produite lorsqu'une charge de compression dynamique est appliquée sur la pièce de charpente et pour coopérer avec des sièges anti-crash afin d'atténuer les blessures aux passagers.
