Abstract
A method and apparatus for the transmission of monetary value and payment of debts, comprised of a card upon which has imprinted upon its front the name of the issuer and a multiple digit number and which stores the quantum of money with which the bearer of the card has pre-purchased from the issuer on an electronic strip on the obverse side and which is debited when the card is either run through a machine "reader" or when the multiple-digit number is given to a creditor of the bearer orally or in writing.
The card may be any size and thickness and the multiple-digit number may be any length, but the utility of the apparatus will be greatest when it resembles the dimensions of a credit card, namely 2" height by 3" width by 1/8" thickness.
