Abstract

This invention relates to a barbeque grill grate cleaner. For the purpose of this invention the barbeque grill grate that is being referred to is the surface used on a barbeque to place food on for the purpose of cooking. For the purpose of this invention a barbeque is any cooking source that uses heat and has a grill grate as referred to in the above noted sentence.

The grill grate cleaner is an easy to use food safe maple wood product intended to clean the surface of a barbeque grill grate. The grill grate cleaner is a hand held scraper that has pre-cut grooves to fit the bars on individual barbeque grill grates. The grill grate cleaner is used to scrape the surface of porcelain barbeque grates to remove food particles that have cooked on to the surface and to do this without removing the porcelain coating or other coating or leaving any residue on the grill grate bars.

Description

Specifications 1. This invention relates to a barbeque grill cleaner that will prevent scratching on porcelain grills or other grill types.

2. This invention is to replace cleaners that are abrasive to the porcelain or other barbeque grills (i.e. wire, brass brushes). These cleaners tend to scratch the soft nature of the porcelain or other grills and damages the cooking surface of the grill.
These cleaners also tend to leave dangerous residue on the grill surface, which can enter your barbequed foods. The maple wood used in this invention is not abrasive to the porcelain grill or other grills but is solid enough to remove food and sauce that has been cooked onto the grill surface therefore; leaving no damage to the porcelain or other grill cooking surfaces.

3. The cleaning tool illustrated comprises a handle with a scraping surface.
The scraping surface comprises grooves fit to a specific grill grate. By sliding the cleaning tool horizontally along the bars the tool will remove unwanted food and carsinigeus particles. Only those objects that appear to be on the top or side of the grill bars will be removed. T'he grate must be turned over to remove particles on the other side. By sliding in a forward and backward motion the grill bars will become free of excess particle on the grate.

Fig 2 is a perspective view showing the grill cleaner being used in a horizontal direction.
As seen in Figure 2 the handle ( 10) is being held by a user to support the grill grate cleaner and slide it horizontally along the '/4 inch grill grate bars.
As seen in Figure 2 the'/a inch grill grooves (12) are placed along the individual grill grates measured at a'/4 inch to fit tightly around the grill spoke (14) As seen in Figure 1 the grill grooves ( 12) have been cut using a shaper machine with '/4 inch round shaper bits to fit the exact size of the particular grill grate.
As seen in Figure 2 the grill grate cleaner has been angled (16) at a 55 degree angle at the top of the grill grate cleaner to glide smoother along the grate in order to remove particles that have adhered to the grate.
As seen in Figure 1 the pre-cut grill cleaner grooves are on both the front and the back of the grate cleaner for consistence in the wear of the grill grate cleaner.

5. 2 %2 inch Maple wood is used for the grill grate cleaner to adhere to food safe regulations.

Claims

A. A manually operable tool for cleaning porcelain or other coated barbeque grill grates that have evenly spaced bars.
B. A tool as described in Claim A that is shaped with grooves that slide between adjacent bars of the grill tightly enough to remove tiny particles from the bars.
C. A pre-shaped tool described in Claim B to fit tightly to the grill grate spokes.
D. The grill grate cleaner comprising - maple wood - a grooved handle at the bottom to be held easily by an average sized hand - a two sided grooved top cut to fit individual particular grill grate bars
