Abstract
A microturbine power generation system (10) includes an electrical generator (16), a turbine (14) and a compressor (12) intermediate the generator (16) and the turbine (14). The turbine (14), compressor (12) and electrical generator (16) are secured together by a tieshaft (75). The tieshaft (75) is prestressed such that faces of the turbine (14), electrical generator (16) and compressor (12) maintain contact during high-speed, high--temperature operation of the system.
