Abstract
ABSTRACT:
This invention, the Toilet Bowl Curtain, consists of a holder made of plastic which is attached to the seat of a toilet, either permanently or detachably, for the purpose of holding a sheet of absorbent paper in such a manner that when the toilet seat is raised the holder and the paper raise simultaneously and provide a curtain, ten to fifteen centimeters higher than the top of the toilet bowl and and extending entirely around the toilet bowl, except where the water tank is located, thus preventing the splashing of urine onto the floor when a male person is urinating. When the toilet seat is lowered the holder and the paper lower simultaneously and do not obstruct or interfere with a person sitting on the toilet seat. This invention is new and has not been previously utilized.

Description
SPECIEICATION:
rrhis invention relates to a holder of absorbent paper which becomes a curtain around a toilet bowl. rrhe holder, including the paper, raises simultaneously when the toilet seat is raised and prevents urine splashing onto the floor when a male person is urinating. rrhe curtain lowers when the toilet se~t is lowered and does not interfere with a person sitting on the toilet seat.
This invention will eliminate a serious and persistent sanitation problem which exists wherever there are toilets and males who use them: the splashing and splattering of urine onto the surrounding floor area. Even relatively small amounts of urine splashed onto a floor creates an unpleasant odor, stains and damages floor coverings and attracts numerous types of obnoxious insects. rrhis presents an annoying, expensive and unsanitary problem for homeowners and their families, janitors, building managers and the owners of everv type of buildings that contain toilets that are used by males.
'rhe paper holder is made of ~edium rigid plastic of the following dimensions: 4 millimetres in thickness by 8 millimetres in width by 95 millimetres in length. Each of the ends is adapted to a variety of designs, depending on the type or types of attachment(s) selected for production and marketing: The screw-on permanently attached type shown in figure #l requires that the plastic ends be bent at right angles 20 millimetres from the ends and there be drilled one hole 3 millimetres in diameter in the centre of each of the ends. rrhe holder is then attached to the underside of the toilet seat, on the hinge side approximately 10 centimetres higher than the hinged edge, placing the right angled corner flush with the sides of the toilet seat.

SPECIFICATION: (continued) The portable or detachable -type elimina-tes the screws which are replaced bv two small ~ centimetre spring clamps, one at-tached to each oE the two plastic ends as shown in Fiyure number 2.
The easy-change type is a combination of the -two previously described types, i.e., the screw-on attachment on one end and the clamp on the other as shown in Figure #3. This type will grea-tly facilitate the changing of the paper; merely unclamp one end and straighten the holder to its full leng-th and place the new sheet of paper over the holder and re-attach the clamp to the toilet seat.
The actual curtain is made of absorbent paper of two ply that is now used in kitchen hand or cleaning towels. The si~e of each sheet is 30 centimetres in width by 100 centimetres in length. To adapt the ~aper into a curtain merely requires the folding of an individual sheet at one-third its width along the entire length and lay it over the holder, at the fold, along the entire length of the holder, placing -the wider side on the inside, as shown in a side view in Figure ~4.
