Abstract
descrito aqui se encontra um processo para purificação e cristalização de cristais de ribulose 1,5-bisfosfato carboxilasejoxigenase, de tamanho grande, tetragonais e bi-piramidal (rubisco), originários de folhas verdes de todas plantas folhosas, quer transgênicos e não-transgênicos. os cristais de rubisco, de pureza excepcional, não apenas facilitam as etapas subseqüentes de reconstituição, tais como filtragem ou secagem, como também melhoram a aparência do produto originário da proteína, aspecto essencial em relação à aceitação do consumidor. o rubisco, como enzima de fotossíntese, pode ser amplamente utilizado na determinação das mudanças ambientais e climáticas e como agente medicinal de exame para finalidades de diagnóstico. além disto, também possui muitas aplicações no âmbito das industrias de alimentação, cosmética, química e outros ramos. estas mesmas técnicas também podem ser úteis na recuperação e purificação de proteínas de outras plantas.
