CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO A FUNERARY URN FULLY IN FIBER CELLULOSIC CORRUGATED CARDBOARD AND ASSEMBLY PROCESS

INTRODUCTION [001] This Invention Patent application deals with an exclusive Constructive Arrangement Applied to a Funerary Urn Entirely in Cellulosic Fiber - Corrugated Cardboard and its Assembly Process, whose purpose is to offer a resistant structure, capable of withstanding, without deformations, loads normally applied, without requiring the use of any structure other than corrugated cardboard, enabling a considerable reduction of inputs, such as electricity and raw materials, such as wood, iron, copper, etc., in addition to being a highly sustainable human enterprise, thus providing a series of advantages inherent to its applicability, being its innovative features in the genre.

[002] The purpose of this patent application is, therefore, to provide a new provision in a funerary urn built entirely from cellulosic fiber - corrugated cardboard, which was given original construction to better adapt it to certain circumstances of use, with in order to improve its use and efficiency in relation to the models already existing on the market, maintaining, however, the advantages resulting from the use of cardboard.

STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE [003] As is already known, there are abundant documents describing the corresponding techniques for making the use of corrugated cardboard as a raw material in the manufacture of urns

[004] Despite the traditional way of building funerary urns from corrugated cardboard, inconveniences can be attributed to them, such as the use of heavy cardboard weight to guarantee the initial characteristics and configurations of the product, greater amount of material -material used in its manufacture, use of reinforcements made of wood or other material of low biodegradability to guarantee the functional structure, transport handles made of metal and the like, as well as staples, nails and synthetic-based paints.

[005] Another problem is the fact that some urns have a lid and box made of corrugated cardboard, but have their peripheral wooden frames for maintaining their structure, as well as for fixing braces (screws), in most cases such pieces are metallic, aiming at the adequate closing of the product.

[006] It is also worth remembering that, according to recent data, in first world countries, the funeral market generates approximately US $ 15 billion annually, where they are involved in the burial of approximately 70,000 m ³ of wood, 104,000 tons of iron, 2,700 annually tons of copper, 3,200 1 of embalming fluids, etc. It is important to note that all the processes that constitute the funeral market (such as extraction of raw material, transportation, production, finishing,

3/14 etc) require the industrialization of products several times in their entirety, which increases the deforestation of forests, dumping of chemical residues in affluents, unruly use of electricity, transport and synthetic products, noise pollution, destruction of ecosystems whole, among others. Thus, in addition to the space needed for the construction of cemeteries, there is also concern with the amount of natural resources used in an unnecessary and predatory manner.

[007] Given the above, more and more modern society has shown greater concern on how to save the planet from a probable environmental collapse. Around the world everyone seeks to contribute with solutions and products to meet the needs of the present generation without affecting the ability of future generations to meet theirs. These concerns lead to reflect on the importance of expansion and innovation in products or solutions in the funeral market that contemplate sustainable development. To this end, it is necessary that they attend to at least four basic requirements: be ecologically correct, economically viable, socially fair and culturally accepted.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION [008] In view of the aforementioned problems, and in order to overcome them, the applicant, after several studies and researches, in an intelligent and unusual way managed to develop a new concept in funerary urns entirely built from cellulose fibers. sica corrugated board, object of the present patent, which consists of meeting the needs of the present generation without affecting the ability of future generations to meet their ecological, economic, social and cultural needs.

4/14 [009] Therefore, the aforementioned objectives are achieved by the invention by means of a urn and its lid provided by molds or flat pieces constituted in order to facilitate the assembly of the urn and its lid by simply folding and gluing adjacent portions along the creases incorporated into the mold, providing the unit with extreme solidity and eliminating the need for cutting up to the inner base of the urn, where leaks could occur. In addition, the product has greater practicality in closing between urn and lid, having a telescopic fitting system with the option of definitive seal, eliminating the known ways of fixing the parts.

[010] Another characteristic of the invention is the fact that the cardboard used can be waterproofed by applying a water-repellent substance or material, or even waterproof film on one or both internal and external faces, reducing the absorption of moisture by up to seventy per cent. The materials used for waterproofing and bonding will be biologically degradable, allowing, after some time, the penetration of air inside the urn, as well as the gradual work of aerobic bacteria in the decomposition of the product, thus protecting the water table and soil of the product. place where the urn was buried.

[011] In this way, product design can dispense with the use of additional products for the retention of body fluids during the decomposition process.

[012] The advantages and characteristics of the present invention over conventional urns made of wood are:

- The corrugated cardboard urn is socioeconomically viable, since its cost is lower than that of conventional wooden urns, in addition to maintaining the dignity of the individual to be buried;

- The funerary urn made of corrugated cardboard is ecologically responsible, since, since it is made of organic matter, all cellulosic fiber is biodegradable in a short period of time;

- The funerary urn built in corrugated cardboard, due to the characteristics of the cellulosic fiber and the project itself, allows the bodily fluids released during the decomposition process to be completely absorbed by the product. In this way, the natural action of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria takes place completely - body and urn.

- The funerary urn made of corrugated cardboard allows the total decomposition of the body and of itself in about 5 years,

[016] The urn (1), as shown in figure 1, consists of six pieces:

- The first is the reinforcement block (1A), shown in figure 2, which has creases in all contours, configuring two panels, the largest (A) is folded up forming an obtuse angle in relation to the base, the smallest (B ) is folded up to ninety degrees from the base and represents the bonding area;

- The second distinct piece is the casing of the urn (2), shown in figure 3, and is formed by two linear straps, with identical geometry, configuring the right and left side, said piece (2) contains three parallel creases in the direction of length of the flattened plate (C), (D) and (E), when folded and joined the two parts by the end form the design of the urn; still

- The third piece is the non-creased plate called the lower reinforcement tray (3), shown in figure 4, and which is cut according to the drawing of the urn;

- The fourth piece, shown in figure 5, are the two straps (4) with top finish, right and left, with identical geometry and each one has three parallel horizontal creases (G), (H) and (I), in the direction of the length of the plate, when folded and joined the two parts by the ends forms the design of the urn. Two other parallel vertical creases (J) and (L) are in the direction of the width of the plate, forming a reinforcement dorsum and upper external finishing of the urn;

- The fifth piece, shown in figure 6, is a sheet of Kraft paper (5), in the lower external dimensions, containing the cutouts of the urn design, this piece being optional;

[018] The cover (7), shown in figure 7, is composed of three distinct pieces, not requiring great structural strength, of which:

- The first is a reinforcement block (6), shown in figure 8, formed by two linear straps with identical geometry, configuring the right and left part, having three parallel horizontal creases (M), (N) and (0) in the direction of the plate length. When the parts are folded and joined at the ends, the cover design is formed. Still four creases parallel in the direction of the width of the plate, form five panels or portions (P), (Q), (R), (S) and (T). The two upper panels, with angular cuts and convex folds in relation to the upper base, form the trapezoid for any of the already mentioned urn models. The central panel corresponds to the height of the lid, and the lower two refer to the gluing area and permanent seal;

- The second is a cover piece (7A), shown in figure 9, which forms the cover (7) itself and contains a crease (U) in the entire contour, creating a glue flap at a convex angle. The crease (V) corresponds to the structural angle of the lid. The cover piece (7A) may or may not have a viewfinder (9), this is an optional condition being developed in a high performance Kraft cardboard frame, it has a transparent acetate film of variable thickness (1 0), it can be manufactured in different formats: rectangular, trapezoidal elliptical and etc .;

- The last piece is a sheet of Kraft paper (8) in the upper external dimensions, with cuts in the design of the urn, being used as a top finish.

[019] Thus formed the urn (1) and the lid (7), the assembly of the urn (1), as shown in figures 1 and 11, is obtained when the lower flaps of the lateral reinforcement pad (1 are folded inwards) A), joining together all the angular cuts, the same procedure being done for the two parts (right and left) of the casing of the urn (2). PVA glue is then applied across the area opposite the creases of the cover piece (7) to then accommodate the reinforcement block (6) on the inside of the cover. Then

[021] In this way, the present Constructive Arrangement Applied to a Funerary Urn Entirely in Cellulosic Fiber - Corrugated Cardboard and its Assembly Process fully satisfies the proposed objectives, fulfilling the intended function in a practical, fast and efficient manner, providing a series of advantages inherent to its applicability, having their own characteristics, innovative and endowed with fundamental requirements of novelty.

Claims (5)
