Abstract

SISTEMA E MéTODO DE IDENTIFICAçãO E DE AQUECIMENTO DE COMBUSTìVEL. A presente invenção refere-se a um sistema e a um método de identificação de combustível, normalmente aplicados a veículos a motores de combustão interna do tipo bi-combustivel, por meio dos quais é possível identificar qual a composição do combustível utilizado em cada momento, particularmente qual a proporção empregada em uma mistura de gasolina e etanol, por meio do mesmo dispositivo que realiza o aquecimento do combustível. O sistema de acordo com a invenção compreende um resistor (3) de aquecimento de combustível, com valor de resistência variável em função da sua temperatura, conectado a um circuito de alimentação que aplica uma tensão de alimentação sobre o resistor (3); um dispositivo de medição de corrente (6) que mede a corrente sobre o resistor variável (3); uma unidade eletrónica de controle (4) conectada ao resistor (3), que mede a tensão de alimentação aplicada ao resistor (3), a unidade eletrónica de controle (4) estando ainda conectada ao dispositivo de medição de corrente (6), e recebe deste os valores medidos de corrente do resistor (3); uma câmara (7) com um volume interno (8) predeterminado, possuindo uma entrada de fluxo de combustível (10), e uma saída de fluxo de combustível (9), a referida câmara alojando o resistor (3) de aquecimento de combustível e uma quantidade predeterminada de combustível a ser aquecido, sendo que o resistor fica disposto em contato direto e realiza troca de calor com o combustível; um contador de tempo que marca um tempo de evaporação do combustível no momento em que todo o combustível compreendido na câmara (7) evaporou; e meios de processamento de dados da unidade eletrónica de controle (4) que calculam a energia absorvida pelo combustível através da potência fornecida ao resistor durante o tempo de evaporação de todo o combustível compreendido na câmara (7), e identificam a composição do combustível com base na energia absorvida pelo combustível e no tempo de evaporação do combustível.FUEL HEATING AND IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD. The present invention relates to a fuel identification system and method, commonly applied to vehicles for bi-fuel internal combustion engines, whereby the composition of the fuel used at any given time can be identified, particularly the proportion employed in a mixture of gasoline and ethanol, by means of the same device that performs the heating of the fuel. The system according to the invention comprises a fuel heating resistor (3) of varying resistance depending on its temperature, connected to a supply circuit that applies a supply voltage to the resistor (3); a current measuring device (6) which measures the current over the variable resistor (3); an electronic control unit (4) connected to the resistor (3), which measures the supply voltage applied to the resistor (3), the electronic control unit (4) being still connected to the current measuring device (6), and receives from it the measured current values of the resistor (3); a chamber (7) with a predetermined internal volume (8) having a fuel flow inlet (10) and a fuel flow outlet (9), said chamber housing the fuel heating resistor (3) and a predetermined amount of fuel to be heated, the resistor being arranged in direct contact and heat exchanging with the fuel; a time counter indicating a fuel evaporation time at the moment when all the fuel comprised in the chamber (7) has evaporated; and electronic control unit data processing means (4) which calculate the energy absorbed by the fuel through the power supplied to the resistor during the evaporation time of all fuel comprised in the chamber (7), and identify the fuel composition with fuel absorbed energy and fuel evaporation time.
