Abstract
PROCESSOS E SISTEMAS PARA A TRANSFORMAçãO EM POLPA DE MATERIAIS LIGNOCELULóSICOS. A non-compression vessel, such as a digester, is employed for the chemical preconditioning of the chips followed by a fibrating device to separate the preconditioned chips into fiber bundles, which are then washed prior to chemical treatment of the chips. High consistency. The digester may be one as used in transformation into conventional wood pulp with or without chemical agent extraction screens. If extracted this chemical could be recirculated to the digester with treatment in the circulation loop such as heating or the addition of dilution or other chemical agents. The digester may be hydraulic or vapor phase (which is contained in a vapor space within the digester) and operates in a continuous or batch manner. The digester allows material discharge without the use of a pressing mechanism. The treated material in the digester is then defibrated to convert the chips into continuous fiber bundles, which are then washed and water removed. The washed, waterless pulp is then treated with alkaline peroxide chemicals to develop gloss and other pulp properties.
