Abstract
BY UNPURIFIED LIPASES OF SEEDS OR VEGETABLE FRUITS FOR SUBSEQUENT STERIFICATION BY ACID CATALYSIS. The present invention relates to the production of methyl or ethyl fatty acid esters (biodiesel) in two steps: hydrolysis of fatty material for fatty acid generation and subsequent esterification by heterogeneous catalysis. In the process now. in question, unpurified lipases derived from seeds or vegetable fruits are employed to catalyze the production of fatty acids through hydrolysis of lipid material, which may or may not be the oils present in the seed itself. vegetable fruit used as a catalyst with lipase activity, and further esterification of these carboxylic acids with alcohols of 1 to 2 carbon atoms using solid catalysts based on acid sites.
