The present invention relates to a transmitter and method for transmitting data in a digital communication system, the method comprising generating an original symbol by mapping the original bit sequence using a mapping constellation, and generating of at least one correlative symbol from the original symbol or at least one correlative bit sequence generated from the original bit sequence, wherein the combination of the original symbol and at least one correlative symbol forms a quasi-pilot symbol.
