An equalized centralized swing beam suspension and low load transfer linkage link maintain high load equalization and wheel drive forces to provide high grip and overall cornering efficiency. Several enhancements may include a resilient compression element preloaded into a hinged mechanism for better subtrick direction control, two-piece bearing adapters that carry primary spring and rubber-shrouded drawbars and thrust control lateral to transmit longitudinal and lateral forces to the subtruck frames, and rubber-wrapped nose joints that connect the traction motor nose connections to the frame bars.
