Abstract

"VEDAçãO ENTRE COMPONENTES DE MáQUINA GIRATóRIA". Em uma carcaça de uma máquina giratória os componentes fundidos são de maneira vedada montados juntos através de vedações acomodadas em cavidades (semi-) cerradas. Uma vedação de anel inclui uma base anular e uma saia que se estende axialmente a partir da base. Para aperfeiçoar as tolerâncias de fabricação, a vedação define cavidades intermitentes circunferencialmente espaçadas, de forma a permitir que o material de vedação seja deformado no interior das cavidades como requerido. Os fossos entre as cavidades possuem superfícies de seção transversal aumentando progressivamente a partir de uma superfície livre de pequena área para causar força compressiva requerida para deformação para aumentar exponencialmente com um expoente maior do que 1. As cavidades podem ser perifericamente espaçadas, sendo abertas em uma superfície radialmente externa da vedação. A vedação pode ser de material elástico que pode ser incompressível. A saia pode cónica longe a partir da base. A base pode possuir uma borda projetada de vedação. A saia pode possuir, em uma extremidade livre, uma borda inclinada periférica.
