"CONSTRUçõES DE DNA, CéLULAS DE PLANTA, PLANTA, POLPA E PRODUTOS DERIVADOS DA POLPA, MADEIRA, PRODUTOS DE MADEIRA MACIçA, POLPA DA MADEIRA E PAPEL E MéTODOS DE INIBIçãO DA EXPRESSãO DE LIGNINA NUMA PLANTA E DE ALTERAçãO DA COMPOSIçãO DA MESMA, DE PRODUçãO DE MADEIRA E DE POLPA DA MADEIRA E DE PAPEL". Construções de DNA que compreendem um primeiro segmento que corresponde a pelo menos uma parte de um gene na via biossintética do monolignol, um segmento de DNA espaçador e um segundo segmento de DNA, que é complementar ao primeiro segmento de DNA, podem ser usadas para reduzir ou modular o teor de lignina nas plantas. Nalgumas modalidades as construções de DNA compreendem pelo menos uma parte de um gene para 4CL, C3H, CCR, C4H, Cald5H, SAD e CCoAOMT. In some embodiments the DNA constructs comprise at least a part of a gene for 4CL, C3H, CCR, C4H, Cald5H, SAD and CCoAOMT. Preferably vascular and constitutive promoters may be used to direct expression of constructs.
