Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "PROCESSO PARA TRATAMENTO HIDRóFOBO DE SUBSTRATOS PERMEáVEIS A VAPOR DE áGUA". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo, de preferência um processo contínuo, de revestimento de um substrato, que permite a permeação de vapor de água e de preferência de ar, com um revestimento hidrófobo. O processo, de preferência, usa uma etapa de condensação a vácuo de película fina para criar um revestimento de monómero que é curado in situ após a aplicação do revestimento. O processo tem a vantagem de permitir operação contínua e de fornecer uma alternativa a processos existentes para aplicação de revestimento hidrófobo. Os substratos são revestidos de maneira tal que os sítios de permeação de vapor de água não fiquem bloqueados pelo revestimento para manter a desejada capacidade de respiração. O ângulo de contato estático com a água sobre a superfície de tais substratos é maior do que 95<198>. Tais substratos são de preferência empregados em artigos absorventes tais como fraldas, produtos para incontinência, blocos para uso nas axilas, toalhas higiênicas, protetores de fluxo menstrual, forros para calcinhas, protetores para os seios, palmilhas de bandagens ou alternativamente em roupas de proteção tais como luvas ou capas de chuva para os quais a transmissão de vapor de água em particular do lado de dentro para o lado de fora é altamente desejável.
