"SISTEMA DE TRANSMISSãO DE VíDEO EM ALTA VELOCIDADE ATRAVéS DE LINHAS TELEFôNICAS". Um sistema para enviar e receber dados de áudio/vídeo a partir de uma primeira localidade (2, 8 -10)para uma segunda localidade através de linhas telefônicas existentes (18), inclui dispositivo (6, 12) para converter dados de áudio/video em uma corrente de pacotes, dispositivo para reconverter a corrente de pacotes em dados de áudio/vídeo, e dispositivo (20) para desviar comutadores de voz da companhia telefônica (24), permitindo assim os pacotes viajarem diretamente a partir das linhas telefônicas locais (18)para a rede telefônica de longa distância (28).
