Abstract

<B><MU>PROCESSO E FORNO ELéTRICO PARA PRODUZIR METAIS E LIGAS METáLICAS A PARTIR DE UM MATERIAL DE ALIMENTAçãO METALìFERO<MV><D> Expõe-se um processo para produzir metais a partir de um material metalífero em um forno elétrico. O processo inclui as etapas de formar um banho fundido que é dotado de uma camada de metal e uma camada de escória na camada de metal no forno e alimentar energia elétrica ao forno e converter a energia elétrica em energia térmica e contribuir desta maneira para os requisitos de entrada de calor do processo. O processo também inclui injetar um gás de transporte e um material carbonáceo sólido para dentro do banho fundido por intermédio de uma ou mais lanças/algaravizes de injeção de sólidos e fazer com que o material fundido seja projetado a partir do banho fundido como respingos, gotículas e correntes para um espaço acima de uma superfície constante nominal do banho fundido e formar uma zona de transição. O processo também inclui injetar um gás que contém oxigênio dentro do forno por intermédio de uma ou mais lanças/algaravizes de injeção de gás que contém oxigênio e gases de reação de pós-combustão liberados a partir do banho de fundido e desse modo contribuir ainda para os requisitos de calor do processo. Neste processo, os respingos, gotículas e correntes de metal fundido ascendentes e depois disso descendentes, na zona de transição facilitam a transferência de calor para o banho fundido e a zona de transição reduz ao mínimo a perda de calor proveniente do forno por intermédio das paredes laterais em contacto com a zona de transição.
