Abstract
"PROCESSOS PARA TRANSMITIR E PARA RETRANSMITIR DADOS A VELOCIDADES VARIáVEIS E DISPOSITIVO E PROTOCOLO DE COMUNICAçõES". Um tamanho ótimo de bloco de dado é determinado para uso na transmissão de dados a velocidades variáveis sobre enlace de comunicações em intervalos de tempo predeterminados, onde cada intervalo de tempo predeterminado tem a mesma duração de tempo. Em vez de variar o tamanho de bloco de dado de acordo com mudanças em velocidades de transmissão, o que adiciona complexidade desnecessária, os blocos de dados têm todos o mesmo tamanho fixo, ou seja, o mesmo número de bits de dados em cada bloco. Este tamanho fixo de bloco de dados é determinado de modo que, para todas as velocidades de transmissão de dados disponíveis, cada intervalo de tempo predeterminado seja totalmente ocupado com informação útil. O tamanho fixo e bloco de dados é determinado com base em uma freq³ência máxima na qual a velocidade de transmissão pode mudar no enlace de comunicação e a mais baixa velocidade de transmissão disponível. De preferência, o tamanho fixo de cada bloco de dados é limitado pelos tamanhos de blocos de dados máximo e mínimo predeterminados, de modo a reduzir o número de erros de bit por loco de dado, manter uma certa produção de dados, e limitar a quantidade de bits em excesso em relação ao número de bits de carga útil para cada bloco de dado.
