Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA AUMENTAR A UTILIZAçãO DE RECURSO DE MEMóRIA EM UM DECODIFICADOR DE FLUXO DE INFORMAçãO"<D>. Um método e aparelho para compactar um ou mais blocos de pixels utilizando uma transformação wavelet Haar e uma quantização preferencial e uma rotina de ajuste de escala para produzir uma ou mais respectivas palavras compreendendo preferencialmente coeficientes wavelet Haar quantizados e o indício de ajuste de escala associado. Dentro do contexto de um sistema de processamento tipo MPEG, os requerimentos de recurso de memória, tal como para o armazenamento de quadro, são reduzidos por um fator de dois. Em outra modalidade, cada bloco de pixels é sujeito ao processamento de transformação de coseno separada (DCT) e à truncagem do coeficiente DCT de alta ordem, por meio disso efetuando uma taxa de compactação aperfeiçoada da informação do pixel.
