Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA TRANSMITIR SINAIS DE VìDEO E PARA DECODIFICAR E TRANSCODIFICAR UM SINAL DE VìDEO DIGITAL, ARRANJO PARA TRANSMITIR, DECODIFICAR E TRANSCODIFICAR UM SINAL DE VìDEO, E, SINAL DE VìDEO". Esta invenção refere-se à geração de uma corrente de vídeo MPEG, a qual contém diversos programas ligeiramente diferentes, cada um com, aproximadamente, o mesmo conteúdo. A corrente MPEG é construída de tal modo que um simples transcodificador pode efetivamente selecionar um destes programas. Isto é obtido pelo armazenamento das diferenças relativas ao programa nominal nos campos de dados de usuário selecionados. O transcodificador é pouco mais do que um analisador de corrente de bit MPEG, que substitui os bits correspondentes a um conjunto selecionado de macroblocos pelos dados de substituição armazenados nos campos de dados de usuário. Um decodificador MPEG normal sem qualquer conhecimento dos campos de dados de usuário embutidos extrairá de modo simples o programa nominal. Uma aplicação da invenção refere-se à transmissão de um programa de televisão com e sem um logo, ou um comercial com e sem um aviso público. Uma outra aplicação refere-se a esquemas de proteção contra cópias. Em um desses esquemas, o programa nominal contém um bilhete indicando que o conteúdo pode ser copiado uma vez. Ao gravar, este bilhete é removido e susbstituído pelo conteúdo acomodado no campo de dados de usuário.
