Abstract

Patente de Invenção:<B>"INSTRUMENTAçãO DE COMPONENTE ACETABULAR OBLONGO".<D>Um sistema para o alargamento de uma cavidade no osso para implantação de um componente de prótese, tal como um cálice acetabular oblongo que tem uma superfície externa formada por hemisférios adjacentes. Em uma realização, o sistema de alargamento é útil para formar uma segunda cavidade em relação a uma primeira cavidade já formada. O sistema de alargamento inclui um instrumento com um punho alongado e um elemento de acionamento acoplado a uma placa de apoio com um elemento localizador que pode ser montado de modo removível e substituível à placa de apoio. O elemento de acionamento tem uma extremidade de conjugação de alargador distal e uma extremidade próxima para acoplamento com um mecanismo de perfuração. A extremidade de conjugação de alargador distal é axialmente móvel em direção e para longe da placa de apoio para alargar a cavidade correspondente ao hemisfério secundário do cálice acetabular a ser implantado. Em uma outra realização, o sistema de alargamento inclui uma pluralidadede alargadores, cada um tendo dimensões externas diferentes e podendo ser conjugados ao elemento de acionamento.
