Uma composição de moldagem termoplástica contendo (A) um ou mais polímeros de vinila, (B) partículas de BaSO~ 4~, e (C) opcionalmente um policondensado de compostos reativos bifuncionais, em que as partículas de BASO 4 têm um diâmetro médio de partícula de mais do que 100 nm e de 3000 nm no máximo. O uso da composição de moldagem para a produção de brinquedos e artigos de tecnologia médica é também descrita, como são produzidas as moldagens a partir da composição de moldagem.
